Season 4 Sneak Peek Superheroes? (Spoilers)

SO, in the SDCC sneak peek at Season 4 I saw some things that I was sad to see, such as Nightmare Moon's return, but others I am really excited about. One certain topic REIGNing ( get it ) above the rest. That was the whole mane 6 and spike as superheroes. I think this is going to be just awesome, and I am predicting might just be my favorite new season 4 episode. What did you guys think of the superheroes preview? I can't really remember who had what superpower, but if you saw it and remembered, who did you think had the best superpower? I am honestly TOO excited for Season 4.

The Night mare moon returns thing is actually a flash back, specifically Celestia's Twilights just viewing it, i think it was confirmed, or at the very least the fact that Luna talks about "Her precious day" which Twilight has no control over the sun yet. So shes not technically confirmed to be returning yet, i think its gonna be a lore episode about Night mare moons transformation and defeat by Celestia or something.

I dunno if I remember them having any real super powers in the preview frankly, just outfits.

I have this feeling the episode will be some kind of dream, but regardless it'll be cool i think :).

I'm pretty pumped for S4, i'm trying to not get to pumped so I don't blow up :P.

Ohhh ok thats good. Cause I love Luna, and would hate to see her turn evil. :(

Also, I feel like wile a dream is always possible, it could be kinda cool if some kind of spell made them have superpowers. But yeah honestly I am kinda dumb so I probably just didn't understand it very well.  :muffins:

I am also very excited for Season 4.

We're apples forever. Apples together.

We're family, but so much more.

No matter what comes, we will face the weather.

We're apples to the core.

The superheroes was interesting and I look forward to seeing it, but superheroes and comics aren't my thing so it's a muted interest. However, the Luna episode looks awesome and I agree that it seems to be a flashback.

Read somewhere that the superhero thing was going to be a single episode not a permanent thing, but it's all rumour right now, so we will see when season 4 is released.

I think that the whole superhero thing is probably a dream of Spike's since I can't really see it happening that the mane 6 suddenly becomes superheroes in a big city.

My guess is that somepony told him a story of superheroes, and when Spike then became very tired and fell to sleep, he started dreaming about it.

Also, it's fun how they are doing references to the Powerpuff Girls.

Of all the clips that were shown at comic-con, this was my second favorite (behind the whole Luna/Nightmare Moon flashback sequence, of course). It seems that this episode may be parodying several superhero tropes, as well as referencing some popular comic book heroes/villains (namely that villain at the end, which seems to bare a remarkable resemblance to a certain Spiderman baddie). However that isn't what interests me most about this episode. What I find most intriguing is what causes this scenario in the first place.

Now, I have heard several people say they think this is all some sort of dream Spike is having, perhaps due to his late-night reading of a comic-book before drifting off to sleep. I disagree with this, namely because along with Spike, the Mane 6 seem to have no idea what's going on at the beginning of the story. I'd be willing to bet that either they've been teleported to an alternate universe, or they're all sharing the same dream. And if I had to guess who would do such a thing, I would think the most obvious answer would be Discord.  :umad:

What makes this concept so great, is that assuming Discord is basically MLP's "Q", this would be just like him. Sure, he would get massive amounts of entertainment out of it, but just like Q, in the end he would orchestrate these contrived scenarios in order to teach whomever is his target (be it Picard or Twilight) an important "lesson". Perhaps that's what Discord's role in Equestria becomes, teaching ponies lessons that Celestia is unable to. I would sincerely prefer this to the idea that they need him to defeat some big-bad, because in that case defeating the villain would become almost too easy (and he becomes a sort of "Get Out of Jail Free" card).

Of course, there's always a chance i'm reading way too much into this (happens often). and it's a lot simpler than that. Either way, I like the direction they're taking in Season 4. It seems they're storylines are getting much more ambitious than before. Whether or not that proves to be a good thing, we'll find out soon enough.

EDIT: Regarding the superpowers of the Mane 6, I don't think the clip actually said what they were, but instead just stated their superhero names.
