movies/tv What do you think of the new Care Bears?

Like MLP, I never watched Care Bears when I was little. But now that the new Care Bears is out, I don't like it but what really ticks me is that some people from the MLP staff actually got involved in Care Bears, such as Amy Keating Rogers and Cindy Morrow. Since they are great writers for MLP, I wondered what you all think? Is it good or bad?

Simply put not all change is good. When G4 came out some people loved the way it looked, and it took off. It just so happens that the reboot was a success. Care Bears on the other hand, I'm not sure.

 

Overall I hope it works out well.

There's a new care bears? Wow, did not know that! 

 

   I admit, when I was younger I used to watch the old one.. I even have the 'Big Wish Movie' DVD *sob*

But I didn't know about the new one. And I probably won't watch it anyways. 

 

   You know, when you think about it, Care bears are sort of like ponies.. they have those symbols on their bellies- like cutie marks. And they have unique names and stuff... yeah, just observed that.

I dunno, it's sad there's crossover on other of hasbro's projects with MLP and yet they are clearly designed for different audiences and lack any kind of a creative spark. Take Starwberry Shortcake which has almost the entire voice acting team of MLP and good animation and yet its girly, boring, and dumb. Care Bears isn't far off from that in that it isn't miles away from MLP (cutie marks on tummies) and has good animation too but is boring and childish. Littlest Pet Shop is only half the way there.  

 

I think they have to look at what made MLP popular to replicate any type of success; Broad epic storylines (like in ep 1+2), massive amount of characters with personality traits, being able to appeal to multiple age groups, being able to transcend gender stereotypes, wide lore and cannon, having really positive and beneficial themes, great vector animation, wonderful music, great voice actors, and consistent episode writing.

 

Most cartoons do not aim that high and certainly not many ideas rebooted from hasbro. Only stuff like Gravity Falls (missing songs of course) and Adventure Time seem like they are trying as hard.

Ah I was told about this a few days ago, I was thinking at first it was just some BS but wow ok, well I hope it works from them sure when I was a kid I had seen I think one episode after that never watched. I guess it was because I didn't really care for it all that much, but if they want to try and bring it back well Celestia speed to them!

 

Don't think its going to be half as good as MLP:FIM but if they want to try and make a little money on the side with this show, good luck. Who knows maybe it well become as big as MLP! nah..

I guess I'll wait to see if the characters look good. What make me watch the first episode of MLP was actually how cute these little ponies are, and my favorite animal being the horse.
 
But I don't really like bears...

I remember a post about this when it actually was new. I remember watching one episode back then and it was clear that the CGI animation that is supposed to be "impressive" is actually really freaky and i just couldn't stand it. However, that is not really what decides if the show is good or not..

 

The characters offer nothing interesting for older viewers. The personalities are so simplistic it hurts. The plot in the first episode was so trivial and how it was executed just didn't spark any interest in me. I feel sorry for any adult who has to watch this with their kids. But to be fair, it doesn't even seem like they aimed high with this one. It's just there to sell toys.

 

If somebody here actually likes this show, i am interested in hearing why.

Well, I used to love Care Bears when I was younger as I did My Little Pony. I checked both out, while MLP was good...better than the old generations by a landslide...the new care bears weren't really that great. Not really the style of animation I would go with, but to each their own.

Although I grew up on Care Bears like how I did with My Little Pony, I don't really like the new Care Bears look. It is just something I cannot really explain. :/

While I have not seen the new carebears, I have heard about it before. The bad news is that most of what I've heard isn't positive. And While I would be willing to give it a chance just like I did mlp: fim, I can't say I like the animation... I actually think its crappy. But that's just my opinion *shrugs*

It's meh, in my opinion.

 

However, just like anything targeted towards little girls, it's harmless in general.

 

Although, I will give credit to the first care bears movie for some dark elements and overall somewhat alright movie, yet I think the nostalgia critic helped me out on that one.

It's odd this topic should come up because it was only yesterday I was listening to the old care bears theme song from the 80s and found out there's a new version and I was thinking about  how it sort of related to ponies to because of it being a reboot type thing sort of and someone on YouTube commented with a picture of Spike as there profile pic.

 

Haven't seen the new Care Bears but I have no intrest in doing so either to be honest

I never really watched Care Bears since, I was too busy watching childhood superhero TV shows. I guess the show might be doing good, I guess.
