This Day Aria Cover!

Well, hi there! I just made my first cover of an FiM song, well, actually my first cover ever. I think I did a really good job, and I'm hoping that you guys could give me your opinions! This is one of my favorite songs of the show, and I'm happy that it was the first song I covered. So, please give it a try, and if you like it, subscribe to my Youtube channel, cause I'm hoping to do more of these in the future!

This sounds okay - I think the main, distracting thing is that you need a better mic.   It sounds almost like you recorded it on your webcam, which is not exactly known for the best microphones. 

 

I've been trying to scrape up the courage to do something like this, so congrats on having the chutzpah for doing something like this! Bravo!

Lol, well, I did record it on my webcam. I don't have a microphone, so that'd be why. Maybe one day I'll pluck up the courage to ask my parents for a microphone, although that would bring up the inevitable question of why do I need it?    But yeah, if I continue doing this, I will eventually try to get a real microphone. Till then, I'll have to make do with the webcam. Thanks for your input! 

 

And by the way, chutzpah is now my favorite word. Thank you for introducing it to my vocabulary.

Oh, see, I have family members who are in the entertainment business, so microphones are sort of lying around the house. xD I think I mistakenly assumed everyone has them rolling around on shelves collecting dust bunnies.  

 

A mic would make a world of difference. It sounds like you have a pretty voice.

You are my friend now. *hugs* I love soundtracks! In fact, when I watch a movie for the first time, one of the things I judge it the most for is its music! If it had a really good soundtrack, it automatically earns a gold star in my book. And I've listened to musicals practically my whole life! Those two are some of my favorite genres of music!

Long lost sister! XD That's part of the reason I adore the Dark Knight so much, Hans Zimmer did such a faaaaabulous job on the soundtrack.

Well, overall i have the same complaint that its hard to judge things with the mic being pretty meh quality.

 

So yeah its a bit hard to judge.

 

But overall you sound like you have a good voice! Your certainly a much better singer then I am, i'm decent i guess, but i could still use a good bit of work.

 

I only sung some covers without any background music like a few times.

 

I thought about posting some on pony.fm or the forums, but ended up posting them in blog updates, and well some are in the show your voice thread.

 

I'm a guy so it can also be kinda tricky getting some of the songs done, but yeah.

 

I could still use alot of work.

 

Regardless you sound pretty good, its hard to tell again with the microphone, maybe you should try and find a way to get a mic, i dunno what you could do to get one but idk .

That was a pretty great evil laugh you had at the end lol!

 

It was pretty good overall, besides the microphone. But some of the music made it hard to hear as well.
