Well, there was one customer (we’re supposed to call them “guests” <_<) who said that she (undefined shelf-stocker or some such) told her and her group that they could get a (vaguely-defined) discount on the item they found with the slightly-opened (one flap up, the other in place) box.

Me: “Sure, just lemme get some help with that.”

Later, Supervisor: “No.”

But the number of hustling customers was pretty much balanced by the good conversation I had with others.

And, yeah, everybody was buying loads of stuff. But I didn’t bear the full brunt of it ‘cause I was working the express lane. Lotta fun joking with the people with 11 or 12 items about how it was illegal for me to scan more than 10.
