[Courageous Thunder Dash 7,824]

Thunder Dash had put his hooves over his face after he was hit several times. While he was doing this, he gathered some energy. He continued to gather energy as he was being hit repeatedly. Because he was gathering energy, this lessened the pain of the blows he was receiving. Finally, he unleashed the energy in a blinding light and nailed Swordpoint hard.

Swordpoint was prepared for Thunder's attack. He dodged it and pulled the small dagger from behind his wing, which he plunged into Thunder's chest, making certain to avoid any vital organs. He smashed his hoof on Thunder's back, plunging him down to the ground. He gave chase and crashed into Thunder on the ground, then stepping off of him and removing his dagger from Thunder's chest. He gently placed it back behind his wing. No severe damage... It appears that I succeeded in harming him without causing mortal injury.

Thunder Dash lay there for a few seconds. He could feel the blood dripping from his body. Memories of his past and how far he came zipped through his mind. He wasn't only fighting for himself, but to honor his family. He could feel his heart beating. He felt a little surge of energy. If he were to go down, he would go down trying. Little by little, he got back up covering the wound that Swordpoint's dagger left. He realized it was pretty much an equal match. He made his weapon appear and dropped it in front of Swordpoint as a sign of respect. He then walked away out of the ring. 

 

(OOC: Hopefully that wasn't too abrupt. Next time, I may be back with my secondary OC)

Swordpoint gave Thunder a nod, ackowledging his skill and determination. He was glad that the match had ended without unnecessary bloodshed. He sighed deeply and spread his wings, collecting magical energy until he had regained enough strength. He then cast his healing spell with full power, closing the wound on his chest and eliminating some of his burns. He would still need to visit the infirmary to receive proper treatment, however. "Thunder Dash!" Swordpoint called after his opponent. "You fought an honorable fight. I am sorry, but I cannot give in. I truly do not wish to be in this foul tournament, as I did not wish to be the champion of the last one." His glance darted from side to side before he approached Thunder. He moved in close to speak privately with him. "Leave here as soon as possible," he whispered. "In the last tournament, I believe financial gain was Rail's objective, and yet... this time I believe it is far more sinister. I do not wish to involve you in what I know must be done. Return to your family, and stay far away from this forsaken arena."

"Huh, you mean..." Thunder Dash stopped, almost stumbling and falling. "I don't get it. So this "tournament" is a...a...set up?" Thunder Dash asked. He had to know. After all he went through, he did not want to fight for nothing, because that would be dishonoring his family.

"Okay, everybody! That concludes the last fight of the Preliminary rounds!" Topaz said on the speakers. "But first, lets look at all of the contestants that survived the first round of pain: Cosmo Shadesteel! The super dreamy Sole! Frost Typhoon! Swordpoint! Whiplash! Crimson Grinn! Pelarium! And last but not least, Nuclear Neurotic!" After each name she said, a small portion of the audience stood up and cheered for them.

 

(We're skipping strait to the next day of the tournament. All of you are in the fighters lounge. You've all had a day of rest.)

"Nothing is for certain," Swordpoint whispered, "but I was blackmailed into participation. Why would they need me? It cannot be something as simple as financial motivation..." He glanced around again. "I've also sensed at least five deaths. Five life forces snuffed out... and only two of them have been deaths in matches. Please, Thunder... leave this place. You are a good stallion, and I know this. I can see it in your eyes." He held out his hoof. "I am sorry for the pain that I caused you. I hope that you will forgive me. Know that I have already forgiven you."

After the winners had been announced, Swordpoint glanced up. "Wait... I heard Cosmo and Crimson! They are here?!" A smirk came to his face. "My brothers of battle... joining me once more." He couldn't help but smile. He exited the arena calmly.

Swordpoint waited in the lounge, hoping to see either Cosmo or Crimson. He wanted to speak with both of them.

Thunder Dash caught his breath. "Alright. It was great fighting with you. We shall see each other again, maybe even in a tag-team. You are a worthy opponant." Thunder Dash said as he left the place. 

 

He then made the long journey back to Cloudsdale. "Swordpoint, I'll be sure to remember that name." Thunder Dash said. 

 

He then arrived back home to his family.

Nuclear sat in the fighter's lounge, ecstatic to have made it through the first round.

But she also felt fear, knowing that the others were the stronger of the fighters from the last round.

 

'I'm afraid. I really hope I don't die....maybe...I can ask my opponent for a quick death if they don't want to agree to no killing....'

 

Nuclear glanced at the fighters, checking out each of them and the ones she really didn't want to fight.

"Sole and Cosmo Shadesteel, please report to the first arena floor." The speakers ordered.

 

"Now this is a match up!" Topaz commented. "We all remember Cosmo Shadesteel from earlier on in the first tournament, and so far, few competitors can match his impressive speed! But he may not have such an easy time with this opponent. Sole has proven already that kick ass things can come from griffons too! I just can't take my eyes off that perfectly chiseled body of his!"

Whiplash calmy sat in the viewing room. She had regained a great deal of her strength yesterday, thanks to a nurse who performed a spectacular healing spell. I only hope it'll be enough, she thought. The pegasus heard Sole's name be called, and she looked at the griffin. "Good luck..win this, Sole! For Stone!" she said encouragingly before sitting back down.

Cosmo felt excited. He knew Sole was against killing in all but the most site of situations, and Cosmo'd never been able to duel with him before, so he was expecting a challenging, but bloodless match. Looking across the lounge, Cosmo told him, "I'm looking forward to this. I've seen your chaos magic before, and I've been curious to see it up close. Hey Sole. No matter who wins, I want you to know I'll still help you with anything I can." "Especially with finding Stone," Cosmo promised silently.

((Sorry for the delay guys, I've been busy with school. But now that its the weekend I'll be on more.))

 

Sole looked tired and sad as he stood in the loung. He had horrible nighmares about stone's death every time he tried to sleep. But that wouldn't get in the way of him winning, he'd never give up. He nodded to whiplash calmly as he heard his name called for his next match, but looked up to see cosmo. He was silent for a moment, but then simply nodded "sorry cosmo... but the winners gonna be me. I'm going to end this tournament myself... but thanks anyways." He said evenly, before walking into the stadium.

"Crimson, wait!" Rune called out. He was afraid that Crimson would ignore him. "I need to tell you something." He fell on his knees as if a large weight were suddenly dropped on his shoulders. He was gritting his teeth and looking down at the floor. "DAMN IT! WHY COULDN'T YOU JUST KILL ME? Why would you show me mercy? I was't going to show any to you! It would have made things a whole lot easier to understand!" A few tears dripped down his cheeks. He had been fighting them back so hard that the tears had blood mixed in with them. "All this time, I thought I was born a freak because I was meant to be stronger! What the hell does that say about me now that I lost? I've killed so many masters just to steal their techniques, and now it turns out I was wrong the whole time! I'm just like everyone else with power! I can't do anything right with it!"

Crimson gave rune an indifferent look, "because if I would have killed you, then it would have wasted your second chance, a chance to change your evil ways and use your powers for somthing more than just killing for personal gain...so your wrong...you aren't like everyone else...your a pony with a very special gift...if you could learn to use that gift for good then you really would be able to do somthing with it...but the question is...can you learn change?" Asked crimson seriously.

Cosmo got the arena and at the refs signal he was propelled across the field and took a swing at Sole, aiming to disable him non lethally, "How will you react... Dodge and strike or accept the blow and counter..?" Cosmo brace himself against any retaliations from his friend.

Whiplash calmy watched the next two opponents leave, not letting her nerves get the best of her. I wonder who I'll be competing with, she thought. One thing was for sure: there would be no bloodshed. Whiplash was just happy she wouldn't be forced to fight Sole or Pella.

"Listen up, you incompetent, because I'm only saying this once. Your place in this world is now of relevance to my interests. And if you die, I swear I'll kill you!"

Crimson smirked, "hehehe, whatever helps you sleep at night copycat! But just for the record, you couldn't kill me even if I was dead! So just keep dreaming!" Said crimson wryly, attempting to get rune's cockyness back to normal. "After all, if he wasn't so determined to beat me, it wouldn't be any fun fighting him..." thought crimson.

(Punch? In case you didn't know, Cosmo uses a sword)

Altair connected with Sole but he instantly vanished, "An illusion!" Cosmo realized. Thankfully, his sword was already moving toward Sole so Cosmo shifted to intercept the attack, causing himself to be pushed back several feet. Cosmo shifted the momentum to Altair and made the flat side crash down on Sole's head, slamming him into the ground. Cosmo called his sword back over, and closed his eyes, letting his sense of hearing and touch tell him where Sole was rather than sight.

(Just a warning, Cosmos going to be over powered. Either tomorrow or later today (if we post enough) I'll explain why. I promise nobody will be upset when I'm done.)

Sole stood slowly and cracked his neck "nice hit... but its not gonna be enough. Not even close." He said, before slowly spreading his wings. He suddely disappeared as if he were a mirage, and reappeared in front of him and punching him in the face.

Cosmo didn't have time dodge so he pulsed himself backward to reduce the amount of the blow that hit him. He was sent to the edge of the ring but not the out of bounds. He repositioned himself to a better spot away from the edge and charged his own body a blur to anyone trying to watch him. Cosmo jumped above Sole and hit him in the side with enough force to leave a few yards between them. "Did I over estimate him? Or... underestimate myself..?"" Cosmo thought as he saw what he was accomplishing against a fighter whose raw strength Cosmo respected greatly.
