Not_A_Replicant 109 August 18, 2013 Share August 18, 2013 (If this had been asked before go ahead and direct me to the topic.) Ok, I want to know why you guys like being Bronies or Pegasisters. I have many reasons for why I like being a fan (in no particular order.) 1.The irony. I love it when things are ironic. And what is more ironic than a fourteen year old guy watching a show that was meant for 8 year old girls. 2. The show itself. I absolutely love the show. It hovers around at my 6th spot. (Proceeded by: The Walking Dead, Dr. Who, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, The Big Bang Theory, and Lego Ninjago. 3. The controversy. Call me crazy, but I have always loved being involved in a controversial topic. I feel honored to be in one of the biggest Internet flame wars ever. 4. The other fans. The other fans are nice and welcoming to any new member of the herd. This is necessary for any fandom to survive. Just as Jesus said Mark 3:25 "If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand."

I may not agree at putting it 6th but I do agree with all of your reasons. I just love the irony of it and especially the controversy. I just enjoy controversy considering I love debating. I love being part of the controversy and being a part of this giant debaty/argument thing. 1 Oh

Candy Blaze 119 August 18, 2013 Share August 18, 2013 I enjoy being a brony because 1. MLP:Fim has made me more creative in my artistic talent 2. It makes my life happier 3. The brony community is very kind and respectful here on MLP forums 4. On my first Bronycon, (which was recently in Balimore) the moment I walked at the Convention Center, I felt like all the bronies were some sort of family to me
~StatesTheOblivious~ 1,795 August 18, 2013 Share August 18, 2013 Well, I just do. Do I need a specific reason for that? Hm... Can't come up with one, or just a few. It's everything. The show and the fandom are appealing to me, so I simply enjoy it. I enjoy it because I enjoy it. I don't need a reason. "If men define situations as real, they are real in their consequences." - W. robustescapist 9 August 18, 2013 Share August 18, 2013 I like it mainly because of the truly amazing amount of creativity the community has produced. As well as the quality of the show itself, of course.
MichaelxXxTrixie 433 August 18, 2013 Share August 18, 2013 (edited) I don't call myself really a Brony anymore but here's why I decided to go and join the Fandom. As mentioned, I love the irony. It's a good little girls show, I don't know how this all got started but I guess I just like a show directed towards 8 year old girls. You can find good friends, if someone knows that you watch a little girls show they'll hate you or accept you. A true friend doesn't abandon them just because of difference. People here get along more often when arguments are present. This is the first forum I've been on where I've seen structured arguments. Really to me the ponies and all that jazz are just connectors, I'm really in it for the people. EDIT: For got to say it propelled my life in a positive direction Edited August 18, 2013 by MichaelxXxVinyl Thanks to the lovely Pink Mist for the magnificent signature! Nomadic 210 August 18, 2013 Share August 18, 2013 @ I agree with pretty much everything that you said, but I think your missing one important factor my list. Which is the amount Creativity displayed within the fandom. It's truly awe-inspiring to see what some of the fan can do, and how diverse many of their creations are. It really make me enjoy being a Brony. OC Info: Monkshood, the Apothecary, Denarius, the Gambler (In Progress)

FlutterDawn 5 August 18, 2013 Share August 18, 2013 Aside from the outstanding quality of the show, the community is absolutely amazing! It's filled with so many friendly bronies who all seem to have the same interests as me. Also, the fantastic fan art, music, and fanfics that come out of it are astonishing! Pepperspice 37 August 18, 2013 Share August 18, 2013 1. The show. What is not to love about colorful, talking, ponies? 2. The creativity within the fandom. So many songs, drawings and or paintings. It is just awesome! 3. Spreading the love for ponies! By being a brony you are spreading the love for the ponies. 4. The other bronies. They are weolcoming and very supportive of the other ponies in the heard! Everypony looks out for each other most of the time. Which is nice. I agree with what you are saying too. ~Silver Essence~ 2,625 August 18, 2013 Share August 18, 2013 Because it's nice to see the creativity, imagination, and greatness of a cartoon. Because of the content in terms of art, music, and animation fans make. Because of the difference of showing what great writers can do to a forgotten cartoon. Jokuc 8,173 August 18, 2013 Share August 18, 2013 (edited) Of course I do! First off I still love the show, many of my irl friends are starting to feel a bit "meh" about it. But I think it's super cute and funny. And I like it very much. And the fandom is amazing. Most people are very nice and acceptable, which is the kind of people I like to be around. Plus, tons of amazing material is made all the time for me to look at or listen to! And last, it's just very funny to actually be a part of this HUUUUGEEEE army of people who loves a little kid show xD And like, I play video games and join a lobby, and the first thing I hear is "oh my god who got a fucking pony faggot here -__- " And I'll have myself a good laugh :3 Edited August 18, 2013 by Jokuc

Zacharias 191 August 18, 2013 Share August 18, 2013 It's actually quite funny, I've barely got anything to do with ponies these days, and I've been questioning why I'm still here a lot recently. I don't know, I guess I'm interested in reading other intelligent people's opinions on the world and sharing mine with them (which of course is more like wasting my time typing because noone's ever going to read, brohoof my post, or reply to it) Your signature is harmful towards the rights of Hasbro, and has been terminated as a result. Kyoshi Frost Wolf 41,532 August 18, 2013 Share August 18, 2013 The show, that is it. I love this show, dearly. It makes me feel happier, it makes me feel joy. In my current state of mind, that is very difficult to do. The show is cute, innocent, happy, has great morals, and supports friendship and kindness. Even then, it is not always rainbows and flowers. This show is something special to me, something dear to me now. The fandom, in my opinion, has lost it's charm, as Smitty said. It isn't the same. I have started to feel a ton of arrogance and 'Ooh look at me I am special' from it. It just feels like some have completely forgotten what they loved in the first place. It was nice at first, but it kinda brings down the enjoyment of the show itself if I concentrate on it. So, I feel distant from the fandom now. Your other reasons are a bit, in my opinion, dumb. Controversy? Irony? What irony? The fact that show was 'designed' for 8 year old girls as you say? Actually, no. Faust herself said that she designed this show so that kids AND their parents could enjoy it. It is for everyone. Sure, the past gens may not have been and the MLP brand itself is not, but Friendship is Magic is for everyone. It is girly? Well, yeah, but that is abstract really.
Kitty Cat Moonshire 629 August 18, 2013 Share August 18, 2013 Besides the show, nothing really. Other than wearing hats with ponies on them, and realizing that no one in real life cares xD. Oh, and there are some pretty awesome fan creations. Make sense? What fun is there in making sense?
FiretailFriesian 9 August 19, 2013 Share August 19, 2013 (edited) the show is really cute and colorful and happy one of the things i like is that with the lessons, you may do something wrong or say something wrong, but it can end better. things get better, it just takes time and understanding. the community is pretty artistic and the composers are phenomenal. even with the normal mlp fim art style, artists let their own styles show through and there is both continuity and variety. im actually not active in the fandom, i just kinda watch the show and look at art occasionally Edited August 19, 2013 by FiretailFriesian
LittleRawr 679 August 19, 2013 Share August 19, 2013 Came for the show, stayed for the community. I remember someone said this, but I don't remember who or where. The show's cute and all, but the bronies are amazing! Signature by Azura
GhostPony750 959 August 19, 2013 Share August 19, 2013 The show is simply amazing. I'm not really attracted my fanarts and fiction, but My Little Pony Friendship is Magic is the only tv show I watch. idonotreallycare 94 August 19, 2013 Share August 19, 2013 Two reasons: The good show, and the nice community. I don't really care about fan-art, aside from the music, but the community is just very nice, with good people in it.

Lil'Cinnamon 1,587 August 19, 2013 Share August 19, 2013 I like it because I finally found something that I can enjoy with with others that are like me. I've found a social life because of bronies and I enjoy having it. xD And it has gotten me to get out and do much more things. Everyone of the community is pretty good, they aren't really mean and lots of them can relate to me in many ways, but there are always the exceptions. And the show is great, and has very good characters and is written very well. I'm a COLT/STALLION, not a filly/mare. Just because I have a round muzzle does not mean I'm female. Remember that. =3 Signature made by me, vectors in signature and avatar also made by me.
Inactive01 5,299 August 19, 2013 Share August 19, 2013 I enjoy being a brony because it makes me feel like I belong somewhere. I belong fine in my university's environment, but being involved in a global community is something I always wanted to do, and bronydom helped me jumpstart that. Being a brony has also shown that even the most intelligent and talented people like me (sorry for boasting, but that's my friends say of me) can watch a show that was designed for children in mind. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it so long as addiction doesn't result. Being a brony has helped me become a better person. I've learned to become a better person (*cough* Christian *cough*) because of the lessons the show taught. And I'm glad to be actively involved in letting the show positively change my life. Finally, being a brony makes me proud to say I'm involved in something my friends aren't involved with. And it makes me chuckle knowing they're missing out on so much...
