Xehanort (Kingdom Hearts series) wants to unlock KH and use it to recreate all existence to where light and darkness are equal, because he's tired of the overall bias toward light and against darkness. How does he plan to accomplish this? Well, among other things, by FORCIBLY POURING DARKNESS INTO COUNTLESS WORLDS, THUS NOT ONLY CAUSING MASS SUFFERING BUT ALSO REINFORCING THE VERY PUBLIC OPINION HE WANTS CHANGED!!!

HEAD!!!

MEET!!!

WALL!!!

Sir Grodus (Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door) wants to resurrect the Shadow Queen (a female version of Sauron) and use her to take over the world. Her response when he tries to give her an order? To simply roll her eyes at his arrogance...and SMITE HIM!!!

Um... yeah, what did he THINK was going to happen?

Pretty much every single one of Dr. Drakken's plots from Kim Possible. He's so hapless with his schemes that even his assistant, Shego, is completely dismissive of most plans as soon as she hears of what they consist of.

One of the antagonist half-bloods in Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, where his plan was to resurrect an old demon but instead the demon ate him. So, that was a waste of a evil plan.

in the entire book series he actually ressurects Kronos in the last book and it works.

Near all his plans worked in the books :/

They never do.

Never.

One plan wasn't even evil and it didn't work.

Another nearly worked but then failed. Kind of. His plan was to (spoiler) distract everyone at the inator convention to give him enougb tine to make an inator to win the competion. And he did. All other inators were destroyed so he won by default!

Hooray doofinshsizzle.

One evil plan I never understand back then is something all cheesy villains did back then in the 90's and early 2000.

They always say: "To take over the world!"

That seems rather silly, impossible, and rather cliched most of the times.

Team Rockets Attempts at Getting Pikachu for around 12 fucking seasons...

I mean even if they did manage to get a hold of Pikachu, it could obey them, it would stir up trouble, and really how would it all work together, never really made sense in my mind, and is just pointless, and well, 12 Seasons of it? No thanks.

The Guardian from the Ultima series never has plans that make a lick of sense. Worse yet, he always seems to tell the Avatar in advance what he's going to do, ensuring that he'll try to stop him.

Probably anything, and everything from Austin Powers. But I don't feel that exactly counts as the entire film is supposed to be silly, and crude. But if you ask me, probably for a serious show/film, I would give that award to Hellsing tv (the first one). They made vampires with computer chips. They implanted them into people's necks, and they would become evil vampires for a group known as "Millennium".

Shortly after spending about 4 episodes on this chip, they completely drop it, and butcher all the chatacters. For NO REASON other than because they couldn't wait for the manga volumes to come out with the true story for the episodes to base upon.

I'm probably the only person sad enough to question this but...

Did anyone find the Covenant's plans in Halo to be...mildly counterproductive?

Being an avid Halo zealot, I understand why they want to do what they want to do, but knowing the full story it just doesn't make sense.

They want to become God's...by killing everything in the Galaxy - including themselves.

Nightmare Moon's plan.

I know people may hate me for this, but what the heck?

Nightmare here wanted to create eternal night.  But by doing this, she'll be killing all the plants that need sunlight to create their food.  Then all the creatures would die.

Now, the point of all of that...what was it?

But still, I can't help but love NMM

The Brotherhood of Ultra Science (Among it's other names in different time periods) in Timesplitters. Okay, so this one is less about the fact that they're after immortality and more about the fact that you would think that their leader (Crow), who never goes through any length to disguise himself, would already be in the records as an untrustable immoral nut-job (and thus unable to hire henchmen) by like the second time he time travels. Reinforced by the fact that he is usually travelling into the future, not the past.

It is however, kind of excusable considering that Timesplitters has a tongue-in-cheek (And in my opinion, hilarious) style of humor and story telling.

Tobi's plan in Naruto. Sure, let's control everybody and make them slaves so there is no more war! Also, he gets to be the 10 tail jinchuriki! Isn't that just fabulous! ( I think this was his plan anyways. I haven't read naruto in quite a while, so I'm not up to date 100% on all the facts.)

@TrollianShinobi,

The manga so far:

Tobi = Obito ("I survived, but now I hate real life, so I want to live in an ideal fantasy world via Ten-Tails' moon-genjustu-thingy!"), enter less-than-100% Ten-Tails, R.I.P. Neji, and the good guys = victory within the next volume or two.

Team Plasma from pokemon Black and White

Seriously, you want to take over the world, just for trainers and pokemon to live separately because you say that was the "destiny of all pokemon".

Just wow...

Everything Bowser has ever done.

I mean not even looking over his reasons for kidnapping a princess or how he poorly arranges his armies, just think about his castle designs.  In the first game he appeared in, the room he'd be staying in he kept a destructible bridge with the switch to break it behind him.  Well thought out plan right there.

Rasputin (Don Bluth's Anastasia):

Dude, you've already won---your Deal With The Devil made you immortal, you got the Romanovs canned, and the sole surviving princess will never have any royal authority (due to the Communism and all). SO WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO GAIN FROM KILLING THIS CHICK?!?!?! Seriously, just go out and be The Hedonist like your real-life counterpart or something.

I'm assuming you haven't read the books? Kronos wasn't supposed to come back to life until later in the series, and most of Luke's plans worked quite well. There needs to be a thread where I can rant about these movies... Also, Kronos never actually ate Luke.

Well, i better put this in a spoiler :

The Smoke Monster from Lost. At the end of the series it is told, that the monster was a human once and that his plan is simply to get away from the Island...but i really dont understand why he chases people and kills them. That isnt even part of his plan.

And why does he want to leave the Island? As far as in understand, as the smoke monster he is invincible and has powers. But he gets to a normal human when he leaves. So...why giving up powers just to live in the normal world, when you live in a paradise with unlimited powers, far away from the cruel world?..AND WHY IS HE KILLING PEOPLE, GOD DAMNIT??

And, the entire Silent Hill Story...well, the town works kinda like some sort of hell and people who did bad things gets called from the town, so that the town can punish them...but why? What has the town of it? And why is the town kind off alive anyway?

And why does the Silent Hill Cult want to reborn a God and create this monster nightmare world, if this nightmare world is the reason, that so many poeple died in Silent Hill? The town is a ghost town because of their religion...but they still want to create that " Paradise " ? For what ?

Um... yeah, what did he THINK was going to happen?

I remember playing that game and thinking, "Yeah, the shadow queen will totally want to serve you."
