I listen to many various genres in metal so here we go 

 

 

Fortiori - very, very underrated djent/ambient band, they have EP availible for free on their bandcamp site. I recommend songs: Cataclysm and It Lurks.

 

Ghost Brigade - to be honest I didn't pay attention to genre they're in. But well, here I will recommend from each album: Autoemotive, Suffocated and Clawmaster. 

 

Persuader - power metal band (personally I like to call them "angry Blind Guardian"). Twisted eyes is simply best song by them.

 

Periphery - another "djent" band, Ragnarok is my personal favourite song by them.

 

 

I hope You'll like something from here. If not- I have many other bands, I'm pretty sure I'll find something for You after learning Your taste a bit better

This song is what introduced me to ATR and it's still my favorite song by them. Dat speed. Another one of their most famous songs is Two Weeks which hit radios.

As much as I love Jane Doe I wouldn't show it to someone who previously had a Killswitch Engage avi. Jane Doe is by far the best Metalcore album out there, but it showcases the more raw and intense side of Metalcore. If we're trying to ease this guy into the heavier parts of Metalcore, then Norma Jean would be a better start for that.

Norma Jean aren't the heaviest when it comes down to Metalcore, though imo they're pretty much borderline.
