Huntress 94 September 1, 2013 Share September 1, 2013 Hey guys, this is not a life advice post so, anyway, I just wanted to know if anyone else cried for no reason? Like just at random times? Because I do and no idea why. 2 Daisy Patch- http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/daisy-patch-r4850 Do ya wanna build a snowman!? Scootalove 10,689 September 1, 2013 Share September 1, 2013 I cried randomly when I was thinking about crazy Twilight chasing me down an abyss and, I just started to shed tears after that. That moment was crazy. 1 Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
Moonlight 7,286 September 1, 2013 Share September 1, 2013 From time to time, random things will make me cry. Usually, I bundle my emotions up, so most people don't see me show too many emotions. Thinking about both the past and the future (death of family members, friends, etc..) can make me feel like total shit. I don't usually cry about it, but I do feel miserable. I tend to wake up crying a lot after waking up from nightmares. I have had nothing but nightmares for a month now, so it's getting hellish. It's either nightmares or no dreams at all, it seems. 3 matching setups with my bff pathfinder
Foreigner And Lover 207 September 1, 2013 Share September 1, 2013 I have a friend who's like that. He has some kind of problem with his tear ducts . He has to put drops in his eyes. If that's really happening you might want to see an optometrist. If you mean for random emotional reasons, then no. I don't cry. NavelColt 22,881 September 1, 2013 Share September 1, 2013 Human psychology is more complicated than anyone short of a specialization in the human brain can realize (for the most part). I randomly cry sometimes too; stress in life can build up without you knowing it, or consciously thinking about it. It stores in your subconscious, and given the right mood, you can sort of just let it out at a random time. Happens to me a few times every couple months. Doesn't happen with everybody, and I'm sure different people who do experience it, experience it at various lengths from one occurrence to the next one, but all in all, it's hardly uncommon, or not normal.
Katskratch 59 September 1, 2013 Share September 1, 2013 Well is it crying along with some completely inexplicable surge of emotion? Or crying without feeling anything? If it's the latter it's probably allergy, because I randomly cry all the time when I eat food I'm not supposed to and trigger one of my allergies. If it's the former I have no clue, I've never randomly cried out of unexplained sadness before. Sounds like a bout of depression though.
Faulty Roze 200 September 1, 2013 Share September 1, 2013 When i'm alone, I cry for no reason. To me I think I cry for no reason is a way to release all of my emotions that I hold back during the day. Got elbowed in the gut during a game? Hold it and wait till i'm and express the pain. Got pissed off? Wait till i'm alone and release the frustation. Got teased really badly? Beat the crap out of the person... (i'm joking, violence isn't the answer.)
John 793 September 1, 2013 Share September 1, 2013 There's always a reason. (Like finishing seeing Les Miserable or The Passion) I would imagine that, if one was to cry in bursts and for no apparent reason then that person probably has a psychological condition that should be checked out. (Such as Bipolar disorder) IMO, there should always be a reason.
Jammo 986 September 1, 2013 Share September 1, 2013 Like people here said, there's always a reason. If it's just at random it can be general anxiety, fear or doubt. If it happens at random it's a subconscious problem. It's there you just can't identify it easily.

Fluttershyfan94 5,742 September 1, 2013 Share September 1, 2013 (edited) Usually it's for a reason, I'm so manly that I don't even cry bro.. Nah, them feels usually build up and I release them all at once every four years or so. I do often shed a tear when I get something in my eye, but that's not really the same and there is a reason for that. I guess there is always a reason. GhostPony750 959 September 1, 2013 Share September 1, 2013 It happens sometimes. It seems I need to evacuate all this pression inside me, since I cannot feel emotions in everyday life. Some nights, I let all these emotions burst at once. This is probably normal, don't worry.
Mutemutt 773 September 1, 2013 Share September 1, 2013 (edited) There are times where a seemingly unrelated thought will bring up bad/ painful memories or something like that and it will set me off. It's like the butterfly effect applied to thoughts and emotions. I wouldn't exactly call it random, though, as there is a definite cause even if I didn't realize it would result in crying. Princess Periwinkle 3,775 September 1, 2013 Share September 1, 2013 Yeah, my eyes are messed up. They're the most sensitive things ever... Smarts 1,622 September 1, 2013 Share September 1, 2013 Back when I was in school, I would cry, but it was because of how lonely and disliked I was. I don't do it anymore because I just bottle up all of my emotions and am just very neutral now. I kind of feel emotionless just like a husk. IF is best girl. Sleipnir Rising 115 September 1, 2013 Share September 1, 2013 Several years ago, I remember watching a German film (don't remember the name of it) where the main character had Pseudobulbar Affect, a neurological disorder that causes involuntary crying when in a minor sad scenario. That could be one possible reason for someone to cry for no reason. But, in most situations, I would think that someone would cry from bottled up stress. HunterTSN 1,444 September 1, 2013 Share September 1, 2013 I have a friend that does this quite a lot, but personally don't tend to cry that much anyway. I have a very high pain threshold and I'm not so emotional to cry when I'm happy or relieved. I will admit that I do cry when I get over the top angry, but I'm pretty good at keeping my attitude in check, so those times are few and far between. Kyoshi Frost Wolf 41,619 September 1, 2013 Share September 1, 2013 This happens to me a lot. I am a very emotional person and if I were bottling up my emotions, which for some reason I do often, it can occur, usually when I am alone. More or less I don't even need a trigger, it will just happen. I guess internal stress and anxiety can be a big factor to that. Sometimes it feels like chaos is overtaking my mind and to release, crying really helps. Sometimes I am overly emotional, but whatever I guess.
Guest September 1, 2013 Share September 1, 2013 Nope. When I cry I always have a reason. I almost never cry about real-life situations, mainly it's just moving scenes in tv shows.
Unipeg 17 September 2, 2013 Share September 2, 2013 Well when I look at it, what was no reason actually turned out to be a reason... Like when I bottle up my emotions over a long period of time or stress and other related factors...
Inactive01 5,299 September 2, 2013 Share September 2, 2013 I never cry without a reason. Most of the time, the reasons may seem childish, but for me, they're huge emotional responses to what I listen to in music. When I truly feel a piece's beauty, majesty, or sadness, I just cry in awe. I feel the music, and the music feels me.
ReGen 1,466 September 2, 2013 Share September 2, 2013 Crying randomly? Moi!? Why, I never did that, nor would I ever! Alright, to be serious, I have cried randomly in the past... Mostly at night, for reasons I don't want to get into. I never do it anymore, though.... "I keep the walking on the right side, but I won't judge the next who handles walking on the wrong. Homura Akemi 974 September 2, 2013 Share September 2, 2013 (edited) When I was 10 years old, everything seemed to make me cry. I'd cry at home, at the airport, at the store. It eventually stopped when I was around 12. I still cry several times a week, I'll admit, but exclusively in private. I hate crying in front of other people. Zygen 6,066 September 2, 2013 Share September 2, 2013 I honestly don't cry like very much at all. Honestly I kinda wish I did cry more often sometimes, because most times I want to cry i feel to self conscious and embarrassed to do so, or i just don't want my parents to be wondering whats wrong when i randomly start crying. However, i really only cry like, idk maybe 2-4 times a year? On average i think? It depends on what happens in the year and stuff but yeah. I get teary eyed sometimes, and even the times i cry alot of times aren't crying, but its like where your about to cry and you have tears in your eyes but you don't let them out. In other words i probably do more bottling then i frankly should. But i really kinda wish I did cry more, and had more emotions, because crying feels so relieving! its like your releasing pure stress and anxiety and emotions, and it feels really good i will admit. Its just, in most cases i'm to worried i'll be judged for it being a guy. And actually that hardwired response makes it so i can't cry alot of times, even when i'd be ok with it. So i normally end up opting for another method to release emotions, normally anger and randomly yelling at or going off on people, but i try to limit that to. But sometimes I do get a bit explosive with emotions. As much as I think guys should be more emotional, i don't feel like I really have enough emotion myself that i am open about. Thats one thing I'd like about being a girl, actually not feeling that you have to always be the tough one, and being able to let out your emotions, since girls crying isn't frowned upon nearly as much as guys crying. But anyways... I'm starting to get off topic. Regardless, no i don't cry randomly, my crying results from a reason if i do, and that reason is normally either something sad enough to make me cry(Which is pretty sad.) Or something thats frustrating me a whole lot and stressing me out. Of course that could just lead to anger outbursts, and when I store emotions of sadness or any emotion for that matter it can make me explosive. Couple that with the fact i'm normally a cheery dude for the most part, and well I can seem quite moody, teenage hormones are still playing a bit of a part in throwing my emotions haywire, even if i'm 16. But mood swings don't happen to just girls, they happen to guys, trust me. Or atleast they happen to me, so i'm assuming thats normal... I would imagine that crying always happens for a reason, it usually happens in extremes of emotions(Like actual crying, not just "Oh i have something in my eye, thats just tears" ) so whether the emotions are from now or who knows how long ago, i think its got some rhyme or reason.
