So you want to hear my opinions on my favorite pony?

Does she have a good color scheme? Pink and yellow aren't my favorite colors but they have a mellow appearance which suits Fluttershy's overall disposition very nicely. And they look lovely on the plushie I picked u at Bronycon this year.

 

Is she Best pony? Absolutely! Who else was able to withstand Discords mind games? Who else has that deep down intestinal fortitude in do or die scenarios? Who, in physically demanding situations, does more with less? Who continues to let Angel walk all over her? Just joking on the last one.

 

Do you think she should be less shy in season 4? A notch less. Fluttershy is sometimes criticized for learning to deal with her phobias before backsliding into being a doormat again. But she has ongoing issues with social anxiety that will linger despite her standing up to those fears and adversity on several occasions. Thus, her condition isn't one that will quickly go away just because she has stared down some dragons and minotaurs.

Fluttershy is actually my least favourite of the Mane six.

So, what do you think of her? In my opinion, she is kind of annoying, and just, well, there. I don't feel like she stands out that much, opposed to the other Mane six. ("Of course Twi, because she's shy!" I don't mean like that. Yes, she has strength in traits that the other ponies of course don't have, and she's important, but it doesn't always feel like it.) Her character "development" is also highly inconsistent. She's shy, and then brave/out going/assertive, and then shy again, out going, shy, aggressive, shy...Ect. I can put an example of this. In Putting your Hoof Down, Iron Will did teach her to be more assertive, but it made her mean. Blah, blah, plot happens, and she stands up to Iron Will and Angel at the end. The next episode she is in, (Dragon Quest) she is shy, and scared again. (Of the dragons. She has stood up to dragons before. (And yes I know she has a fear of dragons. It shouldn't effect her like that.)) She is a shy character. I know that. But her shyness is..Eh. The way it works with her character doesn't sit right, and I wish that they'd plan her out a bit more.

Does she have a good color scheme? Yes. I love her colours together. I don't feel that other colour sets would suit her as much, at all. 

Is she Best pony? Not at all. Sorry, Flutters. I also find her highly overrated. I don't go up to people who do like her, and tell them that their opinion is bad, though. I'd never do that. (I've had Fluttershy fans get on my back for not finding her cute, before. It was stupid.)

Do you think she should be less shy in season 4? If they don't make it inconsistent, then, well, yes. Maybe put some of her past experiences into character?

I think shes a great charactor, at the moment shes my favorite mane 6 character, alot in part due to my ablity to relate to her, being a shy person, and generally quiet(Of course around people i'm comfortable with i turn into something more akin to Pinkie frankly.)

 

I can also relate to her caring and kind personality since i like to think of myself as kind, however i also have alot of self confidence and self esteem issues like she does, which leads to me feeling bad about myself, and letting others step on me sometimes.

 

however there are times i blow up to, which can be a pretty dramatic turn, i feel bad afterwards, but still.

 

I think she has a nice singing voice, although not my favorite, I think she needs her own song, even if she has some shorties. Maybe thats just my flutterfan speaking.

 

Oh and shes also incredibly adorable, seriously shes so adorable, in the show, and in fan art to, shes just so adorable i just can't look at her without wanting to hug her frankly.

 

Plus she has lots of funny moments that come as a side effect of her shyness. 

 

Anyways, I think shes a great character, even if people think of her as over rated sometimes.

 

(To be honest Twilight has become a very close 2nd to her, so she may end up being my 2nd favorite in the future.)

 

Her color scheme is very calming and definitely reflects her personality, that very light calm yellow fur coat is perfect to match her shy quiet kind personality. and the Pink mane compliments nicely.

 

So A good color scheme, i think all the mane 6 have good color schemes though frankly.

 

Is she best pony? Well in the sense of is she my favorite? Currently yes, of course like i said Twilight is a very close 2nd and i've considered putting Twilight first, but i'm not totally sure yet. 

 

As far as is she the best character in the show, i think the literal term "Best Pony" is a bit of a weird statement, seeing as everyone is going to like one pony over another for one reason or another, based on many things including their own personality and liking of certain things. And what appeals to them.

 

I think all the mane 6 characters are well designed and thus love them all, so i don't think theres a such thing as a literal "Best Pony".

 

As for her shyness, i don't think she should be that much less shy, but to an extent a little, for character development, i think like most shy people she will continue to be shy around people she is not comfortable around, thats just kinda a part of the vast majority of shy people, however i think she will maybe improve at being able to stand up when she needs to, aswell as feeling more confident around her friends.

 

I actually think contrary to alot of people that she has already got less shy since S1, because in S1 she could hardly talk to her friends without feeling nervous and shy, but as things went on shes gradually got more open and talks to them easier compared to before.

 

She has also overcome fears of hers and stood up for herself and friends a few times, which i'm sure prior to that she would not do.

 

Anyways, she is a very cute mare, and adorable and just very hugable, and i love her regardless, as I love all the mane 6, my reasons for each are different and while they rank slightly different from each other, i still think all are brilliantly designed characters.
