Any MLP Song That Makes/Made You Cry?

I find almost every song touches my heart in some way, but my favorite is Pinkie's Smile Song. The song itself is just so beautiful, the whole concept of Pinkie devoting her life to making her friends smile and be happy, and that it's what makes her life worthwhile, just make me feel really great. However, it didn't necessarily make me cry. I did cry when I listened to A True True Friend though, because I just found it especially beautiful.

 

I always tear up when I get to this part:

Come on ponies, I wanna see you SMILE!

and everyone shouts Pinkie!! in unison.

 

The song as a whole represents how much they all care for each other and how far they're willing to go to set their destinies right, and that final part just shows how much these 6 mean to everyone else in Ponyville too. Especially in Pinkie's case, it shows how meaningful her Smile song really is. I always start off my day listening to those two songs while I walk my puppy.

The song that didn't really make me cry, but DID make me tear up a bit is easily...

 

 

It was just a great song and different from all the rest. I really hope to see more songs like this in the show.

I don't really cry from this one but BBBFF hits kinda hard with me haha. Mostly cause I relate to it really well.:C
And wooow samme, I always listen to Smile when I walk my dogs LOL (its the starter song in a playlist of songs). Sometimes the remixes as well mixed with some of the fansongs.

Oh good.  I am not the only one who gets emotional and teary-eyed listening to "A True True Friend."  I pretty much feel the same way about it as you described there.

I guess I've got to find a way hit me really hard but for some reason it was the second time I heard it when I re watched the episode.

Smile is pretty much my favorite song but I didn't cry when I first heard it, or ever. I don't really cry about anything though, even at times when I wish I could just let it out and sob (listening to MLP songs is not one of those times).

BBBFF, I've Got To Find A Way, and Celestia's Ballad really made me tear up but most songs aren't able to make cry. But those three songs are able to make me cry.

Well, when I said I cried, I meant more like a happy, tears of joy sort of thing. Maybe I cry too easily... Haha

Interesting responses, I also really like BBBFF. I'm a big brother with some younger siblings, and I feel like I can relate.

Another absolute favorite song of mine is Equestria Girls, it just makes me feel so empowered, happy, and inspired.

 

Oh, oh, and another song that gets to me is Becoming Popular. It shows Rarity's whole struggle between doing what she's always dreamed of, and still trying to stay connected to her friends. The first time I saw it, I teared up at the end when Rarity walks back into her room, saying

I'm the type of pony everypony should.... Knooooow....

And fell asleep while starting to work on Twilights dress. It was very sweet and sad at the same time.

Celestia's Ballad made me tear up the first time I watched it, but nothing has ever made me cry. I don't really cry a lot, anyways.

The BBBFF song is teary, as well as the ballad of celestia, but one that also gets me that I think should earn a bit more attention is the failure song in the crystal empire part 1.

 

The song is about Twilight worried that she failed the test to move one, but the way it's sang gets to me, not teary or sad, but it does give you the feels when you listen to it.

Children of the night also made me cry a little, mainly because it was such a stunning fan made video, with a hauntingly beautiful song to go with it.  (I'm not sure if this counts as it's fan made, but oh well.)

And this documentary,well it's not a song, but hey it counts. I mean it's just so... clear,straight,simple,awesome, and it amkes me realize that this awesome community is verry open (well this is just the trailer)

A True True Friend made me tear up, but it was the images that had an emotional imact on me more than the song.  By itself, the song is rather mediocre to me.  But in conjunction with those visuals, I enjoyed watching each pony joyously realize, "Yes, THIS is what I was born to do!"  This was a very powerful moment in the series.

I came to post this. Not only is the production value of this song ridiculously above everything else in the series but it's so emotional and singlehandedly throws Twilight's voice above Rarity's (my favorite in the rest of the series)

But also: Cadance's bit in This Day Aria with, "For I oh so love the groom". Especially being just after the contrasting "No I do not". Music's always been the thing that gets to me, and it really made me feel what she would've been going through. I just couldn't imagine how I would be if something like that happened to me.

BBBFF was the first one with serious feels for me. I have a terrible relationship with my little sister. We always fought as kids and we still don't get along that well now. The song is what I wish my relationship with my sister was and is.

 

Celestia's Ballad is the other one. I may not be 100% sold on Twilicorn, but that song is beautiful damn it!

You know, the Smile Song is probably the one that gets me the most emotional, but I don't think I've ever burst into tears over it. I did tear up one time when listening to it because it just hit me in a certain spot.

 

Another song that recently made me tear up a little was "Raise This Barn". Now, I know what you're thinking, why would that song do it to me? Well... it's just that one of the reasons Applejack is one of my favorite ponies is that she has a strong connection to family and I do too, so the unity and dedication to family in that song just got to me a few days ago. I dunno, it just came out of nowhere when Applejack was singing, just started tearing up.

 

I think that's what's good about the songs from this show, they have a wide berth of topics that can hit a lot of different people emotionally.

I dont think any of the songs from MLP made me cry but i find a few that are emotional, well for me anyway. Celestias ballad was probably the most emotional for me, the smile song, and a True True friend. Celestias ballad was the most emotional because it sings about the Twilights journey and it was really sad!

A True True Friend. It made me tear up because I went through my whole life without one friend. Not a single one. That song hurts me when I listen to it, so I avoid it like the plague. It's a good song, but it digs up bad memories I'd rather leave buried.

I will admit I get emotional easily, I am a bit of a wimp like that. Or perhaps I am just expressive! Yeah, let's go with that. BBBFF definitely makes me tear up almost any time I listen to it. It hits me on a personal level and it really saddens me the second time she sings it, after 'ruining' the royal wedding. That part is very sad in my opinion, since she really did think that she basically lost her brother at that point.

 

I have only listened to it once but Celestia's Ballad made me feel emotional too. Only reason I have not watched it again is because I am essentially on an episode hiatus until season 4 starts.
