Hi all,

 

I am hoping to do a roleplay that involves an adventure of a lifetime... Of a land in Equestria where nature rules. No... I'm not talking about the Everfree Forest. I'm speaking of a world west of Equestria. The lands between Ponyville and Los Pegasus that were never explored...

 

I want to try my best to replicate the Oregon Trail. What will happen is that your ponies are somehow motivated to go explore these unknown lands. Either by opportunity or by strife, you may choose. You hear that nature is unkind to travelers to the West, but you also hear of a land filled with opportunity... of riches... of prosperity. Rumour also has it that gold may be hidden within the earth...

 

I will control Chemm Blonde and Erlen Meyer. They're now husband and wife at this stage and they are doctors. They hope for a better life away from the turmoil that is Manehattan. 

 

Now, I have 6 open slots. I want this roleplay to be deep. Not so deep as to make it advanced, but it may go there at times. I need people who are dedicated and willing to develop their character's maturity because this journey will not be easy. Many hardships will arise and our OCs must face them.

 

I will need 3 stallions and 3 mares. Definitely no alicorns, Mary Sues, and the like. I need these stallions and mares to be resourceful in the wild. I also want to see two roleplays you have participated in so I can see whether you're up for this sort of depth.   

 

There will be a whole group of stallions and mares who will come along. They will all be NPCs. You may choose to control them as you please. They're the following:

 

• A shopkeeper
• A "preacher"
• Other families you may wish to roleplay.

I think Redwave would be a good fit for this RP. As for your roleplaying abilities, I highly suggest you increase your average character/post count for this RP. I want this to be deep. Otherwise, you're in .

Now. To the ones who are already accepted. I am considering expanding the roster from 3 stallions and 2 mares to 4 stallions and 3 (or 4) mares. Would this be too chaotic?

If we're aiming for advanced-length posts, we should be okay (though I wouldn't go any higher than that) because folks should be spending a little longer on their posts and not flooding the RP.

I can see your OC fit well as an entertainer. Just keep in mind though. No technology. At least, very little of it. Imagine the Oregon trail.

I'll wait for another day or two. If no one comes up, I'd be happy to allow players to have 2 OCs provided they can handle the load.

Sounds good: that's exactly the reason I'd rather only play one character: don't want to sacrifice quality for quantity. Like I said though, if we need numbers I don't mind.

Indeed it has But I don't mind. We still need people! We've been having a shortage of experienced RPers because of life. I know many excellent RPers who are essentially too busy to even come on the forums!

I know the feels, my own Roleplays are taking an age due to life.

And now a friend of mine has dropped his RP because no one had posted in a couple of days. You just have to include life in this kind of things and not expect everything from everybody. 

Though I wish I could make a stallion OC for this though.

Like I said to cinder, if no one pops up in a day or two, then I will allow the use of multiple OCs to fill the roster. That way, we can start post haste.

 

Because of how advanced I want this to be, I want this to be an advanced roleplay. If there's any objections, speak your peace.

Nope, I'm happy with that - advanced is actually better for me since its a bit slower paced and compensates for the time zone difference: nothing worse than waking up after four hours sleep and finding 30 posts have gone by. o.o
