JaCe The Ace Flyer 8 September 16, 2013 Share September 16, 2013 Sooo, I recently came across a girl a while ago that had an incredibly heavy English accent. Now, I had already known she was from Great Britain before we I heard her voice so I figured eh, whatever. But when we first started talking she said "Yo, what's up homey" mocking me and my blackness, and as soon as the words left her mouth I fell backwards onto my bed and rolled around giggling. Her voice was just incredibly sexy and I almost feel bad for her because she tells me a lot of things and when she gets to sad things or an awkward topic a part of my mind still goes "But DAT VOICE!!" so I was just wondering if anyone else has any accents that they think are sexy. P.S. She's a brony, and her English Version of Twilight is divine.
Smarts 1,623 September 16, 2013 Share September 16, 2013 English and Russian accents are my favorites. I don't know why, I just think they sound cool as ice. If I watch a video or show where someone is speaking in one of those two accents, I just sit and listen. I find their accent to be mesmerizing to listen to. Might just be me. 1 IF is best girl. Scootalove 10,689 September 16, 2013 Share September 16, 2013 British and Russian are the two accents that I just like to hear a person just say something dramatic in that accent. Such an enjoyment. 1 Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules

Creamy Arty 6,252 September 16, 2013 Share September 16, 2013 American southern drawls are the only one that I really don't like. Kind of strange considering I grew up around them and used to have one myself until I trained myself to get rid of most of it. As for having one that I prefer over others, no, I can't think of any insofar as those who speak English as their first language are concerned. Asians speaking English as an alternate language have an accent I could listen to all day assuming they have a decent grasp of the language itself. Not humorously either. I genuinely enjoy it. Frith is Magick 1,471 September 16, 2013 Share September 16, 2013 Personally I like the Scottish and Irish accents, both for listening and for using. I can't stand the northern united states accent. Not because of the sound, but because it is slightly different, but I can never put my finger on what makes it different, which drives me insane. 1 Keep flyin'
~Silver Essence~ 2,625 September 16, 2013 Share September 16, 2013 British, Russian, and Latin are my personal favorites as they sound so unique and inspiring. Jersey is my least favorite due to how quickly annoying it can be to me, so no offense to anyone with that accent.
Quilled Inc 161 September 16, 2013 Share September 16, 2013 That I think is sexy...? Well, Irish, I guess. My preferred accent is Scottish, though, and my Scottish accent recently landed me a voice acting position so yay :3 Analyst - Writer - Musician - Voice Actor "A single dream is more powerful than a thousand realities..." ~J.R.R. Hawk Moth 390 September 16, 2013 Share September 16, 2013 I like hearing people who sound like me. I have to watch Doctor Who with subs because I barely ever understand it all. Also I hate hearing southern accents. I've lived in the south my entire life, and I've never heard a single intelligent person with a southern accent. Usually the greater the southern accent, the more stupid they are - stupid or just simple. All I think of when I hear that accent is stupidity and/or over-religiosity. Thankfully, there aren't many 'necks in my part of town. I prefer no accent at all. The typical American "accent" is, in essence a lack of accent. Words are pronounced exactly as they are supposed to be pronounced. It is the purest distillation of English. My mother forced her southern accent away, and my dad was born in the midwest, so thankfully, I didn't acquire an accent. Plenty of people change their accents, even later in life. Mel Gibson in Mad Max has a thick Australian accent, but now it's American. You can change yours too! TwilizzleFoShizzle 95 September 17, 2013 Share September 17, 2013 recently came across a girl a while ago #seemslegitdid you come across the girl recently, or a while ago? Anyways personally I find no preference with different accents because I've grown accustom to a great deal of the common ones, and as such I can recognize different accents, but generally my idea of the accent has more to do with the last person I met with that accent than the accent itself. Crystallize 279 September 17, 2013 Share September 17, 2013 Welp, looks like I'm the only one who digs those typical American accents which is kind of funny because so many people on here seem to like Australian accents, which I have, but I like the American one more. I don't think I could just do it on my own in a country where everyone sounds the same with our horrible, barbaric sounding accent xD Than you shall be a Roman among the barbarians! Though I guess it would seem a bit strange if you suddenly began speaking with a different accent. If you value a bit of fun, you can always go Aussie. Also when you explain yourself, just say you don't want to sound like a North Irish troglodyte. If I know the Irish, they totally won't kick your ass for it heehee. Something like that. Though I really like the Irish and British accents as well. I think the best accents are ones that can be understood. You never heard Churchill speaking Cockney. I do like hearing those wild accents in fictional settings though. When I read older books by people like Jules Verne, I sometimes recite some of the lines in accents. I take a lot of inspiration from real life accents when I write my fantasy stories. As for British accents though, I love David Tennant's natural, Scottish accent. It's fun to listen to other people and try to copy them.
