Listening to a Silva Hound mix from Canterlot Gardens as I chat up a friend on Steam, debating whether to buy a suit of chainmail or leather armor instead of a ethernet cable, and loosely editing my Steam profile. Typical midnight :P

At this moment I just finished mixing one of my favorite songs from Child of Light, Aurora's Theme, with an open source rain recording and an open source thunder recording. Turned out very well. The source files were all high quality: Aurora's Theme had a sample rate of 44,100, bit depth of 16 or 24 (not sure which), and was in the uncompressed file format FLAC. The two files for rain and thunder were in the uncompressed file format WAV, and had sample rates of 96,000. The rain file had a bit depth of 24 and the thunder file a had a bit depth of 32.

The final product had a sample rate of 192,000 and bit depth 24, the maximum quality my hardware can play. I'm 99% sure my headphones are stereo though, so the project was down-mixed from 3 stereo tracks to just a single stereo track. Would be interesting to experiment with this if I ever get hardware that supports 5.1 surround sound or 7.1 surround sound.

It turned out very well, which was nice because I was skeptical I was going to be able to get it to work out how I wanted to. This is gonna be a definite sleepy-time track for me. Can't listen to it too much right now unfortunately, as, ironically, I've stayed up all night and now I have a full day ahead of me I need to stay awake for.

Sitting in my living room eating canned salmon for lunch.  I am also slightly dreading the fact that the moment I am done eating I have to start cleaning said living room.  -_-

Working on my cover letter and resume. It's fun, but it's easily the most stressful thing I've ever tried to write. Gotta get every detail just right if I want to make a good impression on employers.
