technology I might just have the strangest internet issue ever

So I've got the strangest issue ever.

When I'm on Windows 7, and I go to YouTube to watch a video, and I turn it up to 720p, The internet capabilities of all my browsers are gone. Until I restart my computer, I cannot use Chrome, Opera, IE or the Sandboxed browser. Even the in-game steam browser can no longer use the internet. I can still game just fine, TF2 and NFS World are no problem to play. The weirdest thing is, not only do the browsers on my computer go out, every device on my name on our MAC network can no longer use browsers. iPod can't, my two DS's can't, and even my PSP 3000 can no longer browse.

What is this sorcery? Can anyone tell me what it is?

Sounds extremely odd to me. The only real reason I can think of is maybe your network can't handle 720p on Youtube...if it works fine until you change it to 720p then your network might not be able to handle it. Unless maybe it's just a major glitch with Youtube that you were unfortunate enough to encounter.

But still, no matter what, it wouldn't hurt to contact your network/internet provider about it, they might be able to do something.

Actually, my network is great, and on Mac OS-X, I have no issues streaming 10 HD videos at the same time. My 13-year old computer wizard little brother thinks it might be my firewall, so he'll check on that soon.

That is a a rather odd issue that I have never heard of, and I've had some pretty wacko internet issues in the past.

Maybe it's your ISP, try ringing them up, I see no reason why watching a video would take down your internet.

Run, just run and hide under a desk or in a corner somewhere until you eventually starve. It'll be a less painful way to go than trying to fix that issue. Good luck though

Depends on how long the problem has been and if you have gotten any new software that could configure itself with the router and it caused some bottlenecking, as well as your antivirus.

If you have just a router/modem, I would hit the little "reset" button on the back of your modem and unplug your router for 30 seconds and try loading your programs again once everything is reseted. You make it sound like the modem is..."freaking" when you try to expand your bandwidth, which your internet or router can't handle.

If possible, can you post the download Mbps you are getting and your internet provider?

(speedtest.net can give you pretty good results for your Mbps)

To clarify a bit more for everyone:

The issue is Windows-only, and it is not a speed issue, rather a strange bug. We have a private network that can do 0.5 Gigabyte per second, and our internet provider does about 60 Megabyte/sec.

The issue is most likely a very strange bug of the MAC firewall, probably caused by the same device having two different sets of metadata due to bootcamping it.

With the things I've been through, having Discord mess with me wouldn't even surprise me. We've got the infinity of the multiverse combined with the law of probability. Anything can happen. Also, I'd like the floating mouse. No resistance.
