Does anyone hate misanthropic fan fictions?

I actually got around to commenting on one TCB fic, and gave the author, Chatoyance my two cents worth. She called me a serial killer when I mentioned that the ponification potion was basically mind rape. These are a few snippets from her response:

 

You're right. There's no point in trying to police the fanbase. I tried to do that for a while last year, and it didn't work out very well for me . It's best to just leave the nutjobs alone.

Oh my god... did that girl just justify manipulation and mind rape to idealize the ponies and bash humanity? THESE PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE ALOUD TO REPRODUCE! You think this is harsh? These people are dragging down humanity's total progress! They are litterally saboteurs of all that we hope to become and achieve! Their reasoning is near inexistant!

Let's not be consumed with hate, hate the fic, not the person. Let them wallow in their misanthropy if they so wish. Debate and reason with them.... and write if you so wish an ATCB story that points out the flaws of The Conversion Bureau. 

 

 

The ponies they portray in their fan fiction are not canon ponies, and true canon ponies would never ever do anything like what you see in a TCB story. Part of reason of why many people dislike TCB is that the ponies are out of character as hell and are basically the Borg from Star Trek.

 

 

I like ponies, but I hate TCB Ponies.

Sorry what? TCB conversion bureau? Anyways... i had plans for other kind of fanfiction. Like an adaptation of "The Game" with  Michael Douglas... sounds fair in showing flaws of ponies right? Douglas is replaced by Blueblood mind you.

The type of fan fiction is pretty much dead, they don't get much attention and are often hated, especially the more Anti Human TCB. Unless what you write is really good, like 'Setting Things Right' by kildeez or The Other Side of the Spectrum by redskin122004, I don't recommend writing it.

 

But if you feel you really want to write a TCB story, I recommend reading the following fan fictions; The Other Side of the Spectrum , Not Alone and Conquer The Stars, Grey Scale, Setting Things Right, Ten Rounds, Ten Minutes, United We Stand, Final Message and last but not least A Dangerous Precedent.

 

The Other Side of the Spectrum and United We Stand are my favorite, because canon ponies like from the show itself fight against their nasty Conversion Bureau counterparts.

It doesn't look that harsh, when i read this.

 

 

 

She said that humans are neither turned into mindless zombies, who are more willing to do more zerg rushes than "native ponies", nor getting brainwashed to the levels of forgetting their whole identity. To her defence, if people continue complaining about this, you eventually can come to the conclusion that they're just trolling or are even kinda nutty.

 

At least this probably goes for that story. I don't know all her stories and i couldn't finish the sequel of Ten Minutes either, but there are also some of her works who get too much flak. They are even much nicer than other TCB fics where ponies are like real nazis.

EVERY of my fanfictions is going to involve changelings. EVERY-SINGLE-ONE.

 

Why not do a "Changeling Conversion Bureau" promoting the virtues and advantages of having a hive mind?

So mind alteration and manipulation are justified in the name of goodness? That's teleological not deontological like i see it. By by the grace God Emperor of Minkind The Conversion Bureau is heresy. And worthy of exterminatus.

 

I hate the TCB ponies, for essentially enslaving humanity.

 

Seriously, though those kind of civilizations need to see the irony of situation when the Reapers arrive to harvest them. Just like what they did to humanity.

Dispite all the things I've said in this thread and other threads. I actually like The Conversion Bureau stories when humanity wins. So I am thankful those misanthropic versions of TCB exist.

But without them we wouldn't see such stories as 'United We Stand' and The Other Side of the Spectrum. Both of which have canon ponies from the show itself facing against their nasty alter egos from The Conversion Bureau .
