The Elusive Cinder

Recommended Posts

I wanna make a post, but I have no idea what's going on...recap anyone?

Two groups entered the Litany chamber.

Orion tried to approach the litany, but only succeeded in hurting himself. 'Legion' - the voice in Orions head - separated itself from him for safety but was killed by Noble - who has now stolen the vast majority of Orions power.

Orion is unconscious and near death. Redwave and Zintiik aren't much better off:

Scribbler has fled with the Litany - using an invisibility spell to lead Willow to safety. Red is very unhappy about Kingfishers loss of memory.

Permission to have Crimson fight Noble all out? Just this once? He has been missing for awhile now, so don't you think a badass, heroic, cavalry has arrived, entrance would be suitable?

That's not what I'm getting at. Noble is currently very unstable, and will not fight in any discernible pattern. Formal sword training goes out the window 'til he reforms his shattered mind(s).

Still, could be interesting. If Cinder says yes, go for it. Just don't expect Noble to hold anything back.

No worries: thanks for the heads up.

Thats the fun part! I never know how my characters will react (okay, rarely know): Its about getting into that mindset and just writing - letting them act however they will without needing to plan it all out!

... Yeah, I know that sounds weird. I guess its because I free write - writing for characters just comes naturally after that.

I usually free write but it takes me forever if I miss a day or two to get back into a groove. It still takes forethought for me though. In really not good at writing on a whim.

@,

Put it this way: he's welcome to, but bear in mind that he's going to be going up against (what I assume is) a trained swordspony - not a sickly unicorn librarian. He is liable to be significantly stronger than Orion was.

Not to mention that Orion was terrified of his power, and usually holding back - a lot.

Just throwing in my (not so humble) two cents on this subject (which I know pretty well). When it comes to actual sword fighting unless you're line-fencing there's no real discernible pattern that can prepare you to get away or counter And you've made it quite that his sword isn't some weak little sport rapier.

Then again you probably aren't going be throwing Vorntaghs or using the "Guard of The Unicorn"/"The Fool's Guard" on Crimson...if you choose to go the formal sword training route I'll be more than happy to help...

True, but you also must bear in mind that Crimson has also been either passive, weakened, or holding back, as well. So don't expect an easy win. Also, who said anything about a sword fight? When Crimson gets serious, he uses his flame powers.

But if you would like a sword fight instead, then I can easily do that too. Just give me the word.

@,

I've had a couple this past week myself. I hear where you're coming from.

@,

So, what's the deal with the Litany? Is Legion like the conscious aspect of it? And if so, is he just going to be jumping from one host to the next until he finds the book?

Also, woah, wait a sec, did I just lose the Litany? Damn, I knew it wasn't going to be that simple. :P

@@Midnight Scribbler,

Legion was a split personality that Orion created to try and cope with the knowledge from the Litany.

It does have its own personality though, since that knowledge comes from other ponies who have read it in the past.their personalities all merged with his own to create Legion.

So in conclusion: The Litany is sentient and capable of defending itself. Legion was partially Orion and partially the Litany.

Really sorry I haven't posted in a long time...

I just haven't had the urge to RP in a long time...

I suppose I've kinda fallen behind to the point where there's no hope of me catching up, right?

The spell will be wearing off now that the Litany's been disturbed - so while powers wont be at full, they will be working again now.

@,

No worries: we've moved on a long way - if you were looking to jump back in then we will be moving to chapter two once everyone escapes the temple.

--------------------------------

Thats right folks! Since I've got some feedback that folks are actually enjoying this (which I'm surprised by, but happy about) I'm going to be splitting this into a few parts, to keep it fresh and make it easier to pick up numbers between parts of the story.

@@Windbreaker,

I think we've kind of merged, since the super serious business team leader is now unconscious and in the possession of team brandy. lol

Scribbler and willow have gone up the tunnels where we came in from. We aren't too far, just enough that we wouldn't be spotted from the chamber.
