"Chivalry and the idiot went off to find Orion. Are they trying to kill themselves?" Aphrodite sighed, not even bothering that she barged into the conversation. "Who're you? You a newbie?" Aphrodite asked, poking the stallion unsurely and firmly.

 

 

 

Crimson's eyes widened in shock and disbelief at Aphrodite's words, “THEY WHAT!? THOSE STUPID LITTLE!!...” Crimson stood there, smoke literally seeping from mouth and nose, and for a moment, it seemed as if he would explode, but he suddenly stopped and took a deep breath, regaining his composure and calming down. "When I see those idiots again...I am going to beat common sense back into them! Even I'M not stupid enough to attack something of which we don't know what its capable of! And THAT is saying something… *sigh* I'm going after them...who wants to go with me?" asked Crimson, his serious and leader-like side actually showing for once.

"Here...? No, I fear that I must regretfully inform you that it's existence is just as real here as it is anywhere else." Redwave said, raising a brow. "That being said, I find myself in no position to refuse assistance in any form - welcome."

 

He was a strange one - even compared to the (admittedly limited) company Red usually kept. Still, a more reserved addition couldn't hurt the group.

 

"I am going to get some much needed sleep. I am certain that the more sociable members of our gathering will have questions - shout for Kingfisher over there if you need anything."

 

Motioning towards his companion, he bowed himself away, tenderly massaging his bruised side as he stretched out comfortably just out of earshot of the group.

"Yeah, the book..." Orion said. Unfurling his wings with much more grace than he had previously managed. He placed one reassuringly over the mare as the soft aqua glow returned to its normal brightness again.

 

"Come on, lets Nggh..! get you out of here before the weather turns." He said, glancing at the dry, clear sky and seeing nothing to suggest any particular weather to come as he urged her onwards. "Out in the woods during a thunderstorm is no place for a filly."

"Well it wasn't nice at first, it took some time for the local wildlife to learn that my house was no place for them. And so you're from Canterlot, well enough said. Since you're not all aloof as if you own the world, then I've got no problem with that." Midnight said, remembering the only time before that morning that he had visited Canterlot, which hadn't been too pleasant. "Well, I'm glad you told me that. At least that remedy is one I do know, and I think I have some." Midnight said before searching through his armor pouches. "Ah, there it is. Now to put this on those burns, then all you'll need is time." Midnight said optimistically as he began rubbing the salve onto the burns.

"I suppose it is as I feared then." Saronyx said in a reserved tone.

Redwave expressed that he could not turn down any form of assistance in this sort of situation, and accepted Saronyx's offer, before stating he was going to get some rest. The Crystal stallion gave him a nod as the white stallion turned away. The Visionary couldn't help but let his mind drift back to Redwave's seeming confusion at his use of the word 'here'. It was a slip of the tongue, really. Once more a thought spoken aloud. He hadn't pursued the word usage further, so Saronyx didn't need to dwell on it.

 

He was not opposed to sharing the knowledge of his ability, should somepony ask. So long as he knew he could trust them, at least. The cursed Captain from earlier had a rather eruptive reaction to the mare, Aphrodite's news about the two that had gone after the individual who had read the Litany. Curiously, smoke emitted from the pony's head. A side effect of his curse, Saronyx reasoned.

 

Crimson asked whether anyone wanted to accompany him to retrieve the missing members. The Visionary stretched his neck slightly, and shrugged, "I suppose I may accompany you. If I am to be assisting the lot of you from here on out, I may as well start making myself useful, somehow."

Pavisa scoffed and shook her head.  "If Chivalry is that desperate to get himself killed, I'm not going to stop him.  You can only protect ponies that will let you protect them, somepony with a death wish isn't worth it."  Still, she was worried about Blast.  Despite her anger at Chivalry from earlier, Blast had seemed willing to let Orion go...  Towards the end, at least.  Pah!  If he wants to accompany that idiot, then there's nothing I can do to help him either.  "I need to clean this cut and make sure my armor doesn't need repairs before it gets too dark.  And you'd better be careful trying to go after those two in these woods...  It's getting late, I would hate for you two to get lost in the woods."

With that, Pavisa turned to go retrieve her helmet.  She had left it near where Silver Heart was resting, and she pulled up to a stop when she saw the other mare awake.  She quickly trotted to Silver Heart and Midnight.  "Silver Heart, you're awake!  How are you feeling!?"

Crimson nodded and rolled his shoulders, "okay then, just make sure you can keep up, because I'm pretty fast. Especially when I'm going to smack some sense back into idiotic ponies who are going to get themselves killed by an angry, hysteric, butthurt, alicorn with trust issues and an even bigger ego than mine...plus, with your calm speech and mannerism, you could be of some assistance in calming down that rogue alicorn, so try to stay alive..." said Crimson with a smirk before running off in a seemingly random direction, "just follow me, I can sense where they're headed, long story, don't ask me how!" said Crimson quickly as he ran.

Kingfisher.

 

Kingfisher watched the events play out from her place at the sideline: once again everypony was charging off into the woods. The trek tomorrow was going to be fun, what with the complaining she anticipated.

 

Shaking her head, she glanced over at Red - who hadn't wasted any time in getting back to sleep. That was good - it might not have been clear to an outsider but he had been looking progressively worse since he had come back from working with those guards - tired, drained and more irritable than ever.

 

'Sleep well. If things carry on the way they are, we're going to need somepony half awake...'

 

Settling down by the fire, she started to unpack a number of pouches and pots, along with a flask of liquid. They might not have a great deal of night left but by the sisters she was going to stay comfortable and alert for it.

Even though Silver Heart understood that some of the residents of Canterlot could be vocal and difficult she didn't appreciate the insinuation that he expected everypony from Canterlot to act like that. "I'm sorry to hear that your past experiences with Canterlot haven't been the best. I assure you that the city and its residents can be quite kind. So, where did you learn about this salve?"

The sensation of having a salve rubbed directly into her wounds was unpleasent at best. The mare closed her eyes and bit her lip to try to focus her mind on other things. Hearing her name called she looked up. "Pavisa! I think I'll be fine." Well I hope I'll be fine. I haven't really tried to move around yet. "More importantly, you're alright. You aren't hurt much are you?"

Steel had been asleep but awoke and flew up to a cloud and took back watch position he had two throwing knife ready in case somepony did try to attack he was determined to gain the trust of the group although other ponies where up he didn't bother going to talk to them

"Oh, I'm sure there are still good ponies there. I guess part of it is I really dislike royal capitol cities, they bring back a lot of bad memories. As for this salve, I discovered it's recipe entirely by accident. Long story short, I tried making a breakfast of barley cakes when my sister and I both had serious burns from a dragon that attacked us. I sort of messed up while making breakfast and accidentally spilled it on one of my burns, after that I blacked out for who knows how long. When I woke, the burn didn't hurt so much, but since all the others still hurt I assumed it had to be my breakfast disaster. Afterwards it took some trial and error to get the exact recipe figured out, but it worked wonders." Midnight said with a small laugh as he finished applying the salve to the last of Silver's wounds. 'Huh, I'm better at this healing stuff than I thought. It must just come from my extensive research, after all, healing can be considered a form of healing. Which reminds me, these supposed cure-all pills Steel gave me, I'll have to make sure to try and not use them up. If I can keep a few of them intact, then after all this maybe I can try and figure out the recipe, deconstruct it and analyze it's components. Nice to know what my next project will be.' Midnight thought as he stretched, starting to feel tired after the very eventful day.

Pavisa shook her head, happy to see the medical pony awake.  "A little beat up, but just a scratch really."  Which as far as Pavisa knew was the truth.  She hadn't looked under her armor yet.  The guardpony bows her head slightly to Silver Heart.  "I...  I wanted to apologize.  I tried to shield you from the blast, but I wasn't able to protect you the way I promised.  I'm glad you weren't hurt too badly."

 

She looks from Silver Heart to Midnight, placing a hoof on her helmet.  "Er, is there anything I can do to help?  I don't have much past basic first aid training, but I'm willing to if there's something I can do.  Otherwise I should probably see to inspecting my armor before it gets too late..."

Silver Heart stared at Midnight as if she were waiting for him to tell her that was a joke. When it became apparent that he was completely serious she could only nod. "That's...quite the amazing luck you have then. That could have been much worse."

 

 Silver looked at Pavisa and frowned "No, I should apologize too. It was my fault for jumping out of the bush...if you can wait awhile I'll see if I can't check your injuries."

Saronyx nodded, giving a slight chuckle at Crimson's description, and observation that Saronyx's mannerisms might help them against the Alicorn, "Let us hope you are correct, Captain. I cannot say that I have talked down many Alicorns, I'm keen to giving it a try." 

When the cursed stallion began to run off, Saron nearly asked where he was going, when Crimson answered him before the words even left his mouth, stating that he could sense where his companions were, and that it was a long story. Saronyx started off at a brisk trot, and soon broke into a steady gallop to catch up with Crimson, "Even though you did just tell me not to ask you how, I must say that I am rather curious. Perhaps, in time, I will learn!" He said no more, saving his breath instead for running.

 

The Crystal stallion was both pleased, and relieved, that Crimson possessed such an ability. Saronyx had briefly considered asking for a description of their companions, and searching for them through a rift... But that would have taken far to long, and they could have died by the time he found them. And as appealing as learning more about these ponies he was to be traveling with was, the Visionary was not to keen on the idea of letting two of their number die when he was wasting time exploring.

Pavisa smiled as she picked up her helmet.  "It's alright, you should focus on getting better yourself.  None of mine are very serious, I can wrap a few bandages myself and be good to go."  She jerks her head back towards the fire with a small grin.  "I won't be far if you need me, I'm going to need the light to inspect my gear though."

As Pavisa situated herself near the fire, she nods across it to Kingfisher before turning her focus to her helmet.  Without looking up from the armor, she says "Sorry for earlier.  I didn't mean to pry."  Letting it hang at that she pulls an old oiled rag from her bags, the same one she had been using that morning before they left.  She starts running it over the helmet, looking closely at the piece of armor in the light from the campfire to inspect for any damage it may have taken.

"S'alright." Muttered Kingfisher, sifting through the bags. She spend a couple of moments longer doing so before looking up.

 

"Wasn' your fault." She said carefully. "Shouldn'ta snapped."

 

Satisfied that nothing was missing, she dutifully repacked the 'spare' bottle of Brandy at the bottom of the bag before taking a drink from the flask of water. Opening one of the pouches, she took out a few dried biscuits.

 

"Whats the deal with sparklecolt anyway?" She asked in as close to a matter-of-fact voice that she could manage.

Blast joined up with Chivalry regardless. This guy shot a bolt of lightening at Blast's chest. No way was he going to let him get away with that. If you start something with Blasted Nova, you'd better be ready to finish it. The two stallions ran through the forest for a while and came across the alicorn and his sister. His sister looked rather upset.

"Hey, guy. We didn't finish our little game back there. What gives?" He asked in a cocky tone. "What's up with your sister?"

Orion had been fearful of the ponies at first. The fear led to anger. Now he had reached irritation. At being hounded, attacked and provoked - over and over again.

 

Even when simply trying to walk with his sister they couldn't get away from the constant harassment. Something had to change.

 

Accessing new spells and abilities from the ruined area of his mind was getting easier: or perhaps he was just acclimatising to the pain and learning how to think clearly in spite if it.

 

"Lets finish it then." He muttered. "My turn."

 

Lightning was only going to be fatal if he put any more power behind: opting for a new strategy, he winced as a new spell was drawn into his arsenal.

 

The air grew cold - then freezing. Leaves started to frost and fall from the trees while the ground between him and the aggressors froze over with enchanted ice. This was only a side effect though, of the frigid blizzard that had been summoned. Concentrated on the point if his horn, as he released the spell it expanded rapidly in a wave off cold that buffeted everything in its path with arctic winds.

 

Tearing plants up at their roots and covered the ground and trees with a thick layer of snow: the blast could be likened to the impact of an avalanche as it ploughed through the forest, carving a path through the weaker trees before dispersing a hundred meters or so away.

 

"It's... It hurts - but it's so much easier now!" He smirked madly, marvelling at how effortless it was, how simple it had been to cast such a spell. "I just needed... a reason to keep trying. Thank you."

Blizzard was sitting on his cloud, still keeping watch when in the distance he saw what looked like a mass of snow and ice just appear out in the forest. "Just thought I should let everyone know, it looks like our misguided friends who went after that alicorn just caught up with him. I sure can't think of another reason for a blizzard in the middle of a forest!" Blizzard yelled down to the camp.

 

Midnight sighed when he heard Blizzard's report. "You should be fine without me now, so please excuse me. I think it's time a pony with extensive magic knowledge looked into this." Midnight said to Silver Heart before turning and running to the edge of camp. "Redwave, I'm going to go make sure we don't have to bury anypony. It might take more than the two who went out to calm the alicorn and drag away the two fools." Midnight said to Redwave as he passed him, not stopping to give anymore explanation. Midnight then plunged into the forest, periodically using his teleport to move even more quickly in hopes of catching up to the two who were already on their way to stop those two idiots from getting killed. 'They should've learned from the first time that a head on approach won't work. If we want to take down this alicorn then we'll need to do it with strategy and wits. I just hope I get there in time to tell them so.' Midnight thought as he rushed through the forest.

Steel saw the snow ad dove off his cloud and flew at it hr knew that they said it was an alicorn so he pulled his most powerful weapons,t the ones he had told midnight not to touch, out he looked at the he'll daggers they where solid black and had a glowing pentagram in te center and the entire blade was surrounded by hell fire the fire and pentagram matched steels anger so at the time they are only a faint red
