If there's G5 of MLP, should it be a sequel of G4 FiM?

What do you think? If Hasbro decides, in a near or far future, to create the G5 of MLP, should this one be an exact sequel of Friendship is Magic (G4) with the same characters, thematic and story? Or should it have a different weft with another topics?

Well the way hasbro usually works is they have something not so bad and it get progressively worse over the generations. I don't honestly see them making it a sequel. If there is a G5 it will probably be a new show altogether. Though if they do a G5 I hope it is a sequel or atleast the same characters, writers, voice actors and all in all the whole crew that is on FiM. Only time will tell.

But I really hope that is is sort of a sequel.  By this I mean, same writing style, same pony style, same Equestria...all that jazz...  But I also think that it might be time, after G4 ends, for them to get new characters.  But, being a sequel, we will occasionally see or hear about the old characters.  For example, maybe they call their rulers Celestia, Luna and Twilight.  Maybe they'll refer to the Elements of Harmony or Discord. 

In other words, I want it all to be the same but with new characters and slightly into the future.

I think the squeal series should improve upon the animation stye of G4,but I think squeal series is a good idea. Look at Korra,it's a squeal series and its's doing very well. I say apply the same idea,but the squeal series should take place between 25-100 years after the show.

Otherwise, as long as they make it good, I don't really care. Ponies ponies ponies. Oh yeah I do love the show as it is now, but that doesn't mean it would be horrible if they changed it.

If a G5 is made, the same characters, with pretty much everything else the same, would be....Boring. When you go further in the future (Like in Korra) It's neat. You get to see what happened, how the world evolved, and, what all your favorite characters do with their lives. I think it would be pretty awesome if they went in the future, being able to see all the ponies in their future lives, how they lived, and, if they had children! Who knows, maybe all the mane 6 become Alicorns and they rule, Hasbro can do alot with G5 that can be extremely sweet! Though it's like a minefield...One wrong step, one wrong move, could go terribly wrong. What if it did pretty much continue G4, that could get boring, they could lose some fans. Creating something fresh and new, would probably work better, in my opinion.

Even if there was a G5 on the way, it would certainly not be based in the same Equestria we all know and love. A potential G5 would not, for example, follow the Cutie Mark Crusaders once they're the Mane Six's age.  A potential G5 would be completely unique, different, and independent of previous My Little Pony generations. Just as FiM is independent from G3. And thank Celestia for that.

 

Hopefully, if they do start a new pony generation anytime soon, it'll take FiM's place and keep the same values and charm that brought us here in the first place. Perhaps it will even do better than G4 has done already. But for there to be a G5, logically, G4 will have to end, and I really hope that that doesn't happen any time soon.

I would think higher of Hasbro than that... Unless they would end G4 with a VERY open ending, there would probably be little need for a flashback episode in a possible G5. I mean, if things would go as Lauren wanted it to (which won't happen but, let's just assume it would happen like that) all the ponies would achieve their dreams/goals/destinies before the end of the show, so I don't know what the need for a flashback episode in G5 would be used for. Except if something terrible happened when everypony got their dreams fulfilled... Which would just be, odd. WELL WELL

Well let's say that does not happen. Let's say that they end it, the last episode, with everyone achieving their goal, it's all happy, every pony just finally achieved their goal! They had their dream fulfilled. Would that not be a good ending? Every pony Is happy, they got to do what they've always wanted to do! But then, It would eventually lead to people thinking "What the heck happens now?"

In Avatar, at the end, Aang defeats the fire lord, the world is brought to peace, it ends all happy. But then, you wonder "What happens now? Is this the end?" Then they come out with Korra, where it's in the future. That type of ending for MLP would be nice. Weere if they made G5, following that, it would be fairly nice. All the ponies in the future, living their lives, you would see lots of old characters, but there would be TONS of new ponies!I don't want G4 to end anytime soon, I love what they are doing with it, it's great! But, In my opinion (Which is different then lots of people), if they ended G4, and made G5, something like this would be nice. It may not suit others, but it would work for me! Everyone has a different thought on these type of subjects, some the same. This Is what I think would be nice.

Don't get me wrong: FIM is great and I would like to see it go on for a long time longer than it probably will, but you've got to remember that if we didn't have change then we would never have got FIM in the first place.

 

Change isn't always a bad thing. I say get the most out of FIM, then take a chance on something new.

The main story in MLP:FiM sooner or later will reach its end. It would be better to end it that pull it for longer with poor plot.

If the show still will be very popular and still they will be making a lot of money, they would have done wrong if they start something completly new. So they should make some spin-off (a G4.5), the best would be adventures of adult CMC in my opinion. Or maybe some spin-off miniseries for different characters (e.g. Daring Do, Luna&Celestia before Luna banishment).

This concept has proved its worth, and until most people like it, doesn't make sense to change it, at least not drastically.

If there was a G5, it should be at least a sequel to the previous generation but with better animation, story arcs, and anything else that could probably make it better in comparison to G4. Just don't fix, what isn't broken to begin with.

I seriously don't think that G5 should be about the Mane 6, but I do hope Hasbro looks back at the current one and actually puts some effort into how the generation works. I also wish that they can learn from their mistakes of this generation, although I doubt any of this will happen. They'll most likely continue to swim in their enormous pile of money.

I've actually thought about this before and thought it could be really cool if they started it with some of the immortals from G4 trying to find the new Elements of Harmony.

 

For example, Celestia, Luna, and Discord trying to see if some of the original EoH descendants could fit the part.

 

I think it would be awesome, not to mention interesting to see the descendants of the EoH trying to live up their great-grandparents legacy, or something like that.

 

It could be really awesome if they ever did decide to do something like that.

I think it would be better to try something a bit different from G4.  Maybe shift to something with more of an arc to the plot.  We really only need to worry about it when it comes.

I think that would be great. With the world they've built with FiM it'd definitely be cool to see it in a series taking place sometime in the future from when FiM takes place, with all-new characers who would possibly bear the elements along with the usual slice of life jazz, except with perhaps slightly more advanced technology. I don't know if they could do it like that though, since the mane 6 would probably have to be gone and they might have to mention that or something... hm, in that case I'm not so sure about it now, it'd still be cool but I'm fine with FiM for now.

Your gonna animate it yourself? If so, that would be a hard work if you dont have a voice team behind you or a story team helping you out. Same goes for the animation team.

I think it should be a new thing entirely. As good as Friendship is Magic is, shows just get worse as they get dragged on. A good 5-6 seasons should be the end of the series.
