Did Pinkie actually learn her lesson at the end of "Too many Pinkie Pies?"

A youtube episode reviewer called digibrony did a review of TMPP's(Of course it's been deleted for copyright infringement now that I want to do a topic about it. DX Grr.)

Anyway, he brought up something about the end of the episode that I didn't agree with, or at least hadn't thought of before.

The end of the episode culminates with RD and AJ once more offering to do some different activities. Pinkie's response is to back up, say with a touch of nervousness, "Gee, you wanna know what I feel like doing right now?" and promptly passing out with an adorable leg twitch.

His interpretation of that scene was that Pinkie LEARNED her lesson, but was unable to follow through on it. Meaning, once again having to make a choice between activities, she was unable to choose between them, and thus took a third option and said no to both of them.

When I first watched the episode, my interpretation of that scene was that Pinkie DID learn her lesson. Having seen through her clones how much rampant fun seeking can harm her friends or anyone around her, most especially because the clones were basically her without the little consideration she shows for other ponies boundaries, I thought that her friends bringing up fun things to do totally turned her off. For once in her life, she was able to say no and turn down fun. It had been an exhausting afternoon for her mentally, and she just wanted to relax and have a nap and not repeat the same mistake.

So, what is your opinion on this? Did Pinkie REALLY learn her lesson, or is she still too indecisive?

Interesting... Personally I would interpret it as Pinkie was soooooo tired from her day of being crazy that the just passed out... I like to think that all the exhaustion from all the other pinkies activities hit her at the end... if of course there isn't still a hundred pinkies out there in equestria... I've not seen it in so long xD

Looks like the lesson itself got misconstrued within that review. The lesson of TMPP was not to worry so much about if your friends were doing contrasting activities, because there'll be more opportunities in the future. Pinkie clearly understood that, taking the time in this case to settle down after an extremely wild day with the knowledge that there'd be more opportunities in the future to hang out, as per her letter to Celestia.

Yes she has learned her lesson, she was less frantic at the end of the episode and acquires the patience to know that she will have plenty of time with her friends. Though I'm not sure if the importance of the lesson will carry out to other season, that would be interesting to speculate

I think he's reading too much into someone deciding that they would like to have a nap after a particularly exhausting endeavour of paint-staring.

I get your point but I think it's the opposite. After having to act like the complete opposite of herself, doing something extremely boring while having to keep extreme focus and not get distracted by anything at all, you'd think she'd relish the chance for some fun to recharge.

I would figure that Pinkie learned her lesson as soon as she realized how bad  she had made the situation. When she got all mopey when she didn't even think she was the real Pinkie was when I thought she learned her lesson. The part at the end was just her being herself though.

I don't know that she actually did learn her lesson, but at one point Twilight says that's just Pinkie Pie being Pinkie Pie. Even if she didn't learn her lesson, I think her antics will continue, with that excuse.

One of the biggest qualms that I have with many TV shows, and therefore, the reason I don't watch much TV is that most characters never do learn lessons, and never actively change. It's easier than writing a well written character that grows. Take Twilicorn...Another Digibrony video talks about how many people feel left behind because she's developed into a less neurotic and generally better person...pony.

It's easier to leave Pinkie Pie the way she is, because people love her for her tendencies, while her friends will continue to dismiss her because she's "just being Pinkie Pie".

That makes sense but there are larger idiosyncrasies of character aesops in other episodes: in my eyes this instance is completely pardonable.
