"Well, the winters there are pretty harsh. But the rest of the other seasons ain't bad. There are three city built on mountains. Kinda like Canterlot but bigger. And there was a big prison that was built into one of the mountains that is one of the cities now. It's huge and everything is made out of metal and rock. And the griffins are an okay bunch too. I like them better then ponies though."

Looking around, Shadow saw an entrance to the mountain. "Alright, there's a small entrance ove-"

He looked back, only to find the entrance wasn't there anymore. What is this place? The air is filled with Chaos, more so that I thought possible, which means... Shadow tried to come up with explanation, one that didn't involve his fear.

After but a few seconds of thinking, he realized there was no point  in denying it. A look of half fear half doubt in his eyes he turned to Blacklight, "Are you sure you want to go in?"

@@Gloomfury,

"Oh really? and why might you like Griffins better than Ponies?" To make such a statement was rather interesting. She would always believe that a pony like him would kind of resent Griffins. Even if it's just a little bit. This city. It sounded like a great place to see, one of many new and exiting discoveries. Mabye she could even see some tastier food!

@,

"Ponies are overly happy and it's annoying. I don't really care for Equestria ether. It's really hard to fined a place to get meat. Plus when I go hunting the ponies look at me with fear and they run away. Though I did walk into town covered in blood with a dripping sack over my back. But it was kinda funny watching them run in a panic." He chuckles.

@,

" Oh I'm sure...I mean come on, a high chance of death with a low chance of success...what could go wrong?" Blacklight reassured, though much of the other stallion's doubt was present in his own voice as well. Finally spoting what appeared to be an enterance he said, " Hey, I think I found the entrance. Though I don't see any way to walk up to it, but I think I can carry you up there or can you teleport up there yourself?"

@@Gloomfury,

Well that ruined her vacation plan. Chrysalis wanted to go somewhere nice, not a place filled with more of him. That was actually disappointing.

"hm. OK. I suppose that makes sense knowing what you're like. Been anywhere; oh I don't know... Tropical, perhaps?"

"I never bothered with teleportation," Shadow replied, scanning the area with pin point precision.

"But..." He thought aloud "I think I could get you up there." He began to muster his inner control, and with no real amount of effort, lifted Blacklight up to the entrance with his magic.

Let's hope we find the ponies before he... Or anypony else finds us. He reached up with his hoof, seeing if he can get high enough for Blacklight to grab him.

Blacklight rolled his eyes a he flew into the air, picked up the stallion, and lowered him at the entrance. Standing at entrance, he searched in his saddlebags briefly before pulling out a flint and torch. As he lit the torch he said to the stallion, " Stay close to me and keep a lookout for the missing ponies." before placing the lit torch in his mouth and cautiously walking inside.

@@Feather Gem,

The other ponies watched her reluctantly: they looked at each other as if unsure what to do. Those trying to banish their inner demons usually showed a little more... conviction? The elder mare cocker her head to one side and opened her mouth to speak before a claw appeared to silence her.

"There, see?" Discord said forcefully. "Go on now: she played your game... not that it's much of a game: oh I could make it so much more interesting..."

Catching the eye of the real Chamois, he smiled sheepishly. "... but that wouldn't be very nice." He grumbled - scratching the back of his neck in an unusually timid gesture.

'Or at least, she wouldn't see it as 'nice'... not at first anyway...'

Shooing the apparitions away as they started to return to the shadows with bemused, reluctant glances, the prince of chaos muttered absentmindedly under his breath before turning to look once again at his guest with a not-quite cocky frown.

"Poor thing is scared witless already without you abominations... Ever so sorry my dear, you were fleeing from the 'evil monster known as Discord' I believe?"

Nightmare Moon paced along the length of the hall, pondering what she might do now. There seemed to be nothing she could do now to reverse her error - short of necromancy, that is, but that was a dreadful thing to think. And that she was going to have to openly admit her failure was even more dreadful!

The ex-princess silently lamented the situation she had put herself in... until she sensed something interesting. A disturbance, a shift of some kind... were more ponies actually approaching the mountain? Or was it something else that she wasn't able to distinguish? She cursed herself for not being able to determine it.

But nonetheless, if more ponies were indeed coming...

A wonderful idea bloomed within her mind. If she could take one of these supposed newcomers as her own... Then she still had a chance! After all, the goal of the game was to see who could corrupt a pony first; did it really matter whether or not the original target survived if another took their place? She thought not!

A bout of dark laughter bubbled out of the dark mare as she took such delight in her idea. Now the only thing left to do was to wait until the right moment... That is, if her instincts were right to begin with.

"Yeah. A few places actually. During my pirating days I've been up and down the seas meany times. And I seen some warm a sunny place. I've even been to Saddle Arabia a few times. But it's really hot there. And at night it gets below zero. But if you really want a neat place to go try Zebrica. The tree house cities are really something to see."

OOC - Terribly sorry, it's been a busy few days, I'll try to post more often from now on.

Shadow took notice of Blacklight's request, before cautiously examining every crack, every fine point of the Mountain's interior. "There is something wrong with this place," he sighed, "it's a chore just to keep track of what's where."

He tried once again to get a sense of his surroundings, this time with magic instead of his own senses, he was met with similar results, only he realized something he had not before. "This place not only filled with Chaos, but plays hosts to other dark things, fear, jealousy... What is this place?"

"What's this? Your silly little game has broken? Well isn't that simply terrible... If only you had... oh I don't know... some literal embodiment of chaos itself, capable of reaching through the fourth wall itself... Hmm. Sounded like a lovely place to visit for a holiday. She would book a week there after she became the definitive ruler of Equestria. Of course that would be her. Why would it be anything else?

Chrysalis was a mix with entirely negative feelings; mainly disgust, horror and confusion. Did he really ask that? Was he being serious?!

Nightmare Moon could feel it now. There was no doubt; the presence of other ponies were nearby. And that meant that she undoubtedly had her second chance now! Now was the time for her to make her move.

With little more than a thought, she allowed her form to dissolve completely into an ethereal mist. It was a natural, easy thing for her, her physical self slipping away into a light cloud of magic. She made her way silently through the halls like this, sliding and slithering swiftly along the walls to avoid being spotted easily by her potential targets.

It wasn't long before she found them. Two ponies, here for some reason that she couldn't be bothered to figure out at the moment; she was more excited about her little discovery than anything else. But as she started to think, watching them silently as she moved along the walls and ceiling, flicking out of sight each time their gazes wandered in her general direction - she realized that she didn't really need two ponies. One would be simpler, and would still satisfy the requirements to win this game she had going. So she would need to separate them, and claim one for herself. As for the other? Well, he would be left to fend for himself.

Manipulating the shadows in the immediate area, she darkened the hall to where the ponies wouldn't even be able to see their own hooves in front of their faces; to them, it would seem as if the torches lighting the place had suddenly gone out, though really it was the shadows smothering their light. Nightmare Moon, of course, could see perfectly even in the pitch blackness of the complete lack of light.

All she had to do was wait now, just a few moments; let them get nice and confused, maybe even a little panicked, before she would swoop in and capture one of them. She'd be quick and quiet; that pony would be hers before his partner would even notice that he's gone. She would have laughed in devilish delight at the thought, but silence was the key here; no need to ruin this wonderful chance presented to her.

Shadow, perceptive and cautious as ever easily noticed the dimming in the light long before it turned entirely black. His initial thought was to lighten up the area with his horn, but to no affect. He tried again and again, getting slightly desperate in his attempts before calming himself. He knew there was nothing to be done, but the real question was why there was no light.

How can this be possible? I know my magic was working, such a simple spell would be impossible to fail! He thought to himself, completely forgetting the other pony with him. Despite it already being pitch black, the Unicorn still felt it was necessary to shut his eyes in order to help his thinking processes.

It's dark, that's for sure, so the lights have gone out? He shook his head, That would make sense, if it weren't for my Horn's inability to light up the place, His thoughts began to grow more and more dire So someone or something has stopped my magic working? I know for a fact I wouldn't have just failed a simple light spell.

He placed his hoof upon a nearby wall, he was now completely out of reality and entirely within a state of consideration. That would make sense, assuming... In an attempt to either prove or disprove his hypothesis, Shadow lifted his own hoof with Telekinesis, it worked.

So nothing is stopping my magic! Which means... He almost hit himself for not thinking of it before, he had been studying these particular spells for years now after all, although has never seen let alone used a spell of this kind as powerful as this.

His eyes opened, out of natural instinct he readied himself for whatever was to come, his final thought slipping into the physical world with him. "Shadow magic."

Blacklight began to notice as the entire cave began descending into darkness, even his own torch began dimming until the entire cave was in pitch-black darkness. This isn't natural...he noted as he placed one of his wings on the cave wall to keep from getting lost. He thought briefly about yelling to find his partner, be disregarded the idea, not wanting to drop his torch for fear of losing it due to the darkness. He just going to have to find me on his own...he thought as he continued deeper into the cave. His ears alert for even the smallest noise. He tried to stay determined on his goal, but could help but wonder if they had stired up a hornet's nest.

@, (You would be right...)

Others...he sensed others.  He dissolved his dark and oily form and reformed himself into the tall, dark and tyrannical unicorn ponies everywhere know and fear, The King of Shadows is on the hunt for new prey; and he didn't even know it.  As he faded through the rocky wall of the cavern he currently resided, he could see everything even the two newcomers, a mist of dark purple and black seemed to surround them and Sombra snorted harshly and used his magic to teleport behind a black haired pegasus with red highlights in his mane and tail.  He kept silent as air as he followed closely behind the pegasus up the stairs, occasionally breathing down his neck to terrify him a bit, but even if the pony turned around nothing would appear; shadows only appear when they want to after all.

@,

Blacklight swore under his breath as he went deeper and deeper into the mountain. It was still pitch black and he swore that somepony or something was breathing on his neck, though every time he turned around, he would see nothing but darkness. Don't let this place get to you Blacklight...he thought, trying to reassure himself, as he climbed up the stairs, nearly falling a few times. Reaching the end of the stairs, Blacklight threw his useless torch on the floor and with his voice full dread, whispered to himself, " What have I gotten into..." as he pulled his sword, ready to use it at a moment's notice as he moved further down the halls.

@,

Nightmare Moon watched the two, gauging their reactions carefully. It unnerved them both at first, which was only to be expected; the sudden loss of the ability to see would frighten any living creature. But one of them stopped to calmly assess the situation rather than panic. This caught her interest.

Not to mention that it gave her a jolt of startled delight when she heard him utter the very cause of the unnatural darkness. He figured it out, and that meant that he had to know at least a little about shadow magic to begin with. This one was a keeper, that much was for certain. And when the other blindly wandered off (Smart move, she snickered sarcastically in her thoughts), it left her with the perfect opportunity.

She gathered the mist that comprised her ethereal self into a physical form once more. It mattered not now which form she was in; the stallion wouldn't be able to see her either way unless she wanted him to. She was in front of him now, but she'd easily be able to quickly slip around to the other side of him should he try to turn and run.

And so, with her dark figure concealed in the shadows, she let her voice be heard. A bold move on her part; but really, what more did she have to lose? She was confident that she had him either way.

Her laugh seeped into the shadows all around, making it seemingly impossible to pinpoint the source of the sound. "Well, well... Aren't you a clever colt?" she cooed, smiling with pointed teeth as she then awaited his reaction with barely contained mirth.
