MLP Moth 224 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 (edited) I don't say it. It really awkward for me to say it because I don't have a voice to say it. Or I have no one to say it to. I don't even say it to any of my family members. The best my wife will get, when I get one, is "I less than three you" Edited November 19, 2013 by MLP_Moth www.fimfiction.net/story/131201/day-after-war-nexus Check out my first big fanfic. MagicalStarRain 599 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 I never say it to anyone but my mother. She kind of forces me to say it. 1 Click this dragon hatchling to help it grow, please!
~The Doctor~ 20 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 Say it to my Mom and my sister, basically anyone who REALLY matters to me. To me it's a phrase that has to be earned, just like the actual feeling. 2 Would you like a jelly baby?
Scootalove 10,689 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 It has to actually be earned, the way I would say that phrase is if I actually have that feeling. Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
Calleyar 3 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 I do say I love you to certain people. It is a phrase that has to be earned. I'll say this to my immediate family but that is about it. However it can carry different connotations depending on how it is said. If said differently such as after someone I am quite friendly to does something that I appreciate (be it for me or not) that falls inbetween a short thanks/thank you and a long deep thank you. Moonlight 7,286 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 I don't say it to anyone, not even my parents. I'm terrible at showing emotions and telling my feelings to others so I simply don't say it. Hell, I don't even call my parents "mom" and "dad"...I always found those names really childish. I do love my parents (and some select few family members) and even the person I have a crush on (obviously), but I just don't say it because it's too awkward. matching setups with my bff pathfinder

Azaxx 111 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 Nope, I don't even know a time where I said it to anyone. I have no plans on changing that regarding my family either, as for like a relationship sort of thing. Never been in that situation to have a chance. Champion RD92 8,658 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 Well I say it to my close family members, but that's pretty much it. I would also say it to my girlfriend...IF I HAD ONE.
Jokuc 8,173 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 (edited) Well of course it really depends on who it is. People that I really like and that I feel are kind to me, caring and people I can trust will be put up on a little list of mine (not literally) which I then will take notice of and if I have known the person for a long time and I really like the person as a friend or family member (Sadly, I've never been able to say "I love you" to someone I love-love, you know cause; #foreveralone). To those I can sometimes say that I love them, some of my friends has actually been very confused haha. I tell my parents that too, sometimes (it's sad that not many people do this). And online it's even more common that I say it. I don't use it super often personally to one specific person unless I do like them a lot. However I tell groups of people that I love them very often. Such as "love you guys" in the good night status updates. Speaking of which, bye for today <3 It's 6 am and I've been up all night again... Naughty, naughty! [edit] damnit I forgot to answer the topic question. Why I do so is because I am a quite weird person you see. Sometimes I don't want to show any emotions at all and you can barely tell how I'm feeling by looking at me, some other times I want to show every single emotion I have and I make it very obvious. If I tell someone I love them it is because I really want to let them know that I like them and I appreciate them for who they are and all that. letterone 1,204 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 Whoa, I was under the impression that I'm the only one who has trouble saying that. Yeah, I just... really CAN'T say it. It's probably due to the fact that I haven't said it in a long time, so saying it would just feel weird. It's ironic how I fall just to get back up again... Creamy Arty 6,252 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 Saying it comes easy to me, and I say it fairly often. Tell it to both of my parents on a regular basis and to my friends here too, although I'll often use things like "<3" when talking to people online. I'm still as sincere when using internet jargon and emoticons though. Nothing difficult or embarrassing about it to me. I love my family. I love my friends. It's a natural thing. And as someone who has suddenly lost more than a few friends and family, I feel that it's necessary to tell them while I still have the opportunity. 1 Kyoshi made this ^^ Come join us on Equestria.tv on Fridays at 6 PM Eastern for our weekly movie nights! Misty Shadow 7,867 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 Of course! I've made sure to let everyone I know know that I love them ever since I was inspired by Barney the Dinosaur's "I Love You, You Love Me" song! On a serious note, I do say "I love you" fairly often. 2 Merry Wishentine from Pipp Petals!
QuirkyUsername 1,576 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 There are varying degrees of how much I love someone. Best friend I love like a sister but I'd never say "I love you." The only one I would say it to would be my special somepony and I'd probably say it alot but as a rule Nope This adorable ball of glorious fluff that is my avatar is the creation of the glamorous Laika Hey so Johari
Mutemutt 773 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 I don't really say "I love you" towards my family much unless I feel like being especially sappy (and all touchy feely to be annoying because that's fun to do every once in a while). I haven't said it towards anyone romantically either (at least not seriously). I do say things like "I love you guys" relatively often, but that's not quite the same. I say I love this, I love that; I love him, I love her, all the time. But I love you? That's a little rare.
DubWolf 17,263 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 I don't really say it often. Partially since 1. can be awkward if you're unsure with yourself, and 2. don't have many people I can comfortably tell it to all the time. I've said it willy-nilly too early in my relationships because well.. I feel really affectionate and that's just how I feel. Third time is the charm. I could tell my friend I love her if she wanted me to, though I've only texted her that once and probably won't say it like that again. 1 Sig by Wolf, Handwriting by SparklingSwirls

Princess Lona 382 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 I would also say it to my girlfriend...IF I HAD ONE. Off topic but I just want to say that this sentence goes so well with your avatar. I feel weird saying it, even when it's true, but I force myself to say it because it's important that the people who I love know it. My OC, Tabula. Fluttershyfan94 5,742 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 I often do, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I always say it to my little sister, I also do say it to other family members. Not as much though, I guess it's important to remind people that you care about them. If I had a special somepony I would most definitely use it often. 1 DA: http://fluttershyfan94.deviantart.com/ Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/Fluttershyfan94
Meddle 24 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 I say it to a few of my close family members, as well as a few friends, and especially someone I'm particularly quite close to. I have no issues with saying it to someone I care very much about, and I feel good when I do so.
