lomk 20,663 November 25, 2013 Share November 25, 2013 (edited) For me Most boring: I've driven to South Dakota from Oklahoma and let me say that the drive through Nebraska was the longest, most boring part of the trip! It's so rural and there's nothing there. To top it off, from York to about halfway through the state, the speed limit is 60. And it's not like there's anything to see. It's just corn fields... Most exciting: Last Christmas, we went to California. LA wasn't all that great, but we went to stay with a friend in the mountains and it was the most amazing thing ever. But I'd say that California, with its warm beaches in the south and mountains and forests in the interior, plus the desert in the south, is definitely the most exciting state. Personally, I'd never live there with all their gun laws so Texas is a very close second for me. Texas is amazing too Best shape: My take on this is most interesting and I'd have to go with Alaska on this Worst shape: Like the other one, I'm going with least interesting shape and my pick on this is Colorado or Wyoming. Having two separate states who's only difference in name is North and south is stupid. Why don't they just merge? -State with the best shape: Alaska -Worst shape: Any state that's just a simple square. There's not much going on here and it's mostly rural, except for a large city here and there. Not much entertainment to be had. Still, it can't be worse than Utah or Nebraska. They have nothing. :| Most Exciting - The most exciting state that I've been to is Maryland. Not that I go very often, I'll admit, as it's a couple of hours away and the only people I know are in my meetup group. Baltimore was an interesting place, BronyCon aside, and I've been to Renaissance fairs in Annapolis. Washington DC may as well be part of Maryland, and that's also a happening place. I'll go with Maryland then. Best and worst shape - State with the best shape? Not even sure how to judge that. While I don't think very highly of Virginia in a few departments, I've always liked its simplistic shape with a few noteworthy geographical attributes like the mountains and the irregular borders to make things a little more interesting. Virginia wins this one. Worst is Idaho or Michigan. Idaho has that stupid strip at the top of it and Michigan is divided by water. Best Name - Best name is Oregon. Worst Name - Worst name is easily Idaho. Montana is second. Beyond that I'm not sure how to order them. I haven't heard anything about Maine since I went there. Exciting state- New York. Good Lord, there's always something going on in Mew York, it's like it doesn't sleep or something. Best shape- Wyoming. So perfectly square... Having OCD makes me feel like that... Worst shape- Maryland. What happened to the borders?! Best name- Indiana. It literally means Land of Indians. Exciting state: California. Went on a road trip from LA to SF in June 2017. There's just so much stuff to do and Southern, Central and Northern California almost feel like three separate states! Best shape: Not sure, maybe New York? Worst shape: Wyoming. It's one of two states that's literally just a square, and while Colorado at least has the Rockies, I can't think of anything remotely interesting about Wyoming. Best name: Pennsylvania. You have to admit it, that sounds cool! Worst name: Arkansas. The pronunciation makes absolutely no sense and is very rough on the ears.
