is pinkie the village idiot?

After Season 5 I don't see how you can say what.

Party Pooped, The Lost of Griffonstone and Amending Fences were episodes which showed the intelligence of Pinkie and that she isn't just a crazy pony like she pretends but work hard and has veritable skills in the areas of interrest for her. We can also count The Mane Attraction where she uses her connections to invite Rara, or The Cutie map in which she was one of the first to understand that something was wrong.

 

Season 5 is clearly a season in which Pinkie was shown as something else than a "slapstick humor machine" u_u

More than a genius, I think she is a light-hearted pony who work hard to make the people around her happy, and very competent in what she do even if sometimes she encounters problems. She also has some sorts of weird capacities because of her way of thinking which is totaly different from the others ponies, like her capacity to memorise all theses details about everyponies.

And what about the episode with the Parasprites where pinkie's first instrument she needed was the trombone and she never used it until she already got rid of the Parasprite's meaning she planned everything down to the end song!!! (think about that for a sec)

If Pinkie were the village idiot, I don't think as many ponies in Ponyville would think would so highly of her. I mean, she throws parties in town all the time and all of the town seems to love and respect her. Also, I don't think many village idiots have aided in saving their world multiple times.

She's full-hearted, not a village idiot! In fact, she might be a little prodigious in many areas of studies and abilities...

There is an old joke

 

A traveler is talking to the bartender & the bartender says "You think that is stupid?  I'll show you stupid!" He calls over the Village Idiot & shows him a nickel & a dime.  The bartender tells the Idiot "Take whichever one you want".  The Idiot takes the nickel & the bartender asks "Why did you take that one?"  The idiot replies "Because it is bigger." (For those unfamiliar w US currency, a nickel is bigger but a dime is worth more).  Later, the traveler meets the Village Idiot outside the bar & asks him "Don't you know a dime is worth more?"  The Idiot replies "Sure, I know that.  Don't you know that if I start taking the dime, they'll quit offering?"

 

That's the kind of Village Idiot Pinkie is.  IMO she only pretends to be so scattered so she can get away w trolling people.
