I voted against Pinkie TWICE. Yes TWICE. Considering that a 3rd time will be inevitable at some point, I use this post to ask for her forgiveness.

 

This time I vote for her. With full enthusiasm. Her memeism reaches epic status pretty quickly.  How many Bronies have been officially welcomes with this.

@@Jeric,That's the problem... memes aren't all that funny... they are just... memes... pretty much hit or miss. Meme-fication of a character shouldn't be bragged about if you ask me... if that's the reason you're voting for her i am sorry but i do not consider it adequate.

, We have to agree to disagree on what is generally funny or not funny. Sort of like when I tend to disagree with the literary elite on the virtues of Romanticism in the 19th century (excluding Mary Shelly). Taste is subjective, and there is no appropriate barometer on what is right or wrong. Life of Brian was parody ... and considered good cinema. Scary Movie 5 was parody and considered a waste of time. I can't agree that one class of humor has no merit. The only litmus test I know if is this --  if you smile or laugh and it works for you, it's funny.

 

I consider the CMC to be such an integral part of my enjoyment of this particular IP. I voted pretty hardcore for Scootaloo each time she was up. Heck I even voted against the Pink One when they were facing each other.

 

To some, Applebloom has many redeeming traits that would make her a preferred character choice over Pinkie Pie. Maybe its the longing to grow up, the bullying, the more internal heroes journey for an external solution. I love those traits. Heck if they just liked her because she said the word brunch in a cute way ... that is perfectly fine too. I just respect the amount of amusing moments that Ms. Pie has brought a little more. That is not to marginalize AB. This is a vote ... I have to pick one. I pick the one who made me chuckle this time. In show and off show.

 

Now ... here is more Pink stuff .. because in truth I can't break a Pinkie Promise

@@Banul,That's it? We are gonna let some genuine judgement and characterization fail? I mean there are so many things i could say about characters like Scotaloo... but it seems the majority of bronies just votes of cute-o-meter level... nothing more... And this isn't fair in a long shot. How am i supposed to have fun when stuff like this happens? Sigh... oh well i guess it can't be helped? There go the crusaders.... 

I disagree with that. I'm not a hardcore Pinkie fan, but I can see that there is more to Pinkie than a cuteness factor. It may not be that obvious, but she DOES get character development through the show. (The episode with Cranky Doodle comes to mind) Add that to the fact that she adds alot of quirky humor to the show, and you can see that people like her for more than just cuteness. I'm sure Pinkie fans can come up with even more reasons to vote for her.  And anyway, voting for a pony because they are cute is valid. Applebloom's ridiculous amount of adorablity is one of the reasons I voted for her.

 

Don't generalize the reason people will vote for a pony. So sit back, relax, enjoy some fan art, support your favorite pony, and have a good time of it. At the end of the day, its just a silly popularity contest.
