Okay princess or alicorn which bugs you more?

Alright, suppose the ponies went to a new land and some brand new earth pony princess was there.

 

No horn, no wings.  

Or

new land and theirs an alicorn pan handeling for bits.  Like a  bum.  A pony that was born as a alicorn but never really excelled to anything specail?

 

I mean seriously why coulnd't it happen if unicorn married a pegsis?

You know, like shinning armor did with cadence (okay she use to be a peg so i'm technically right).

Like I said in the past, I have no problem with alicorns or on the alicorns becoming princesses if there is a valid reason for it. On the other hand, I would like to see some rulers in Equestria that aren't alicorns just to spice up the royal dynamic of, having alicorns in power.

 

I'm all for world building of course, let's put it that way.

I always thought that alicorn and princess were one in the same. No such thing as a princess without wings and a horn, no such thing as an alicorn without being a princess.

Alicorns feel more unnatural and rare to me. We know there are other countries besides Equestria in the show, and it's only natural for them to have rulers and quite possibly princesses. That's only natural. Alicorns though have always been treated as something extremely special and rare, though.

 

I'd like to see some kind of ruler that wasn't an alicorn, personally. It'd shake the dynamic up a bit and we have too many alicorns in my opinion anyway.

Neither of them will bother me unless the show gives me a new reason to in the future. But for now no. I am liking the concept in general as of now.

 

Edit: I guess I should go alittle indepth why this is my current view and what may make it change. Well the show in my opinion so far has displayed a good way of presenting Princess Twilight. Or portraying her to say. The fact that its not all about "Hey bow down to me or eat voltage -Zeus"

Makes me able to warm back up to her in saying that the show still portrays a viewpoint of "Friendship"

If this is lost along the way of the making of the show I might be slighly dissatisfied or disappointed. But I will still give it a chance then.

I don't have a huge problem with either, but I'm more bothered by alicorns. Mainly because at the beginning of the series they were extremely rare and only the two royal sisters were alicorns, but then they introduced new ones. Realistically, if Equestria were such a large place there must be a few places controlled by royals.

You do know that a princess doesn't have to force her subjects to bow right? They do that, anyway. I'm all for exploring new places and areas to find out if there are any kingdoms or empires where there are princesses that enjoy exploring all around, so there is a possibility that we will meet new rulers.

Yeah, but Cadance, to me, pretty much just lucked into being a Princess. Besides the Comiccanon, is there really explanation as to how she became a Princess? Yay….Twilight was destined to become a Princess, might as well make her babysitter one too

Digi made a pretty good argument why it's OK for him or anypony to be a fu$$ing Alicorn princess.

Seeing what the leadership is like in other lands would be splendied, but I have no problems with the current leadership. I like how Alicorns look, and honestly, Twilight is the best looking of the princesses, just because I like her proportions. I honestly think she looks better as a princess.

Both. The show was about Twilight coming down to 'real life' to have experiences with others as relative equals. Becoming a Princess/Alicorn does trivialize that.

My concern is not so much that she became either but how it happened and how it was introduced. Either or both happening eventually does make sense but eventually is the key word here and a change this significant must be done right which it unfortunately wasn't in the season finale because it was so rushed and made absolutely no sense. Because there is far more we don't know than do know it is still doable but even though I am now neutral instead of completely opposed like I was before there is still going to be a lot explaining before I am completely sold on it. Thankfully there is still plenty of time in season 4 to flesh this all out, but so long as the writers are giving the creative freedom they need to get the job done they will.

I for one welcome our new earth pony overlords.

A hobo alicorn would bother me so much more, because it just proves that they had the upperhand (being able to both fly AND do magic) and they squandered their gifts.
