As soon as he was about to answer the other two, especially when Zach offered to be his battle partner. Dusk was interrupted by the yet again sudden appearance of Nik, which made Dusk throw his notebook up in surprise with it landing it on his head. Dusk let out a huge sigh and took his notebook back into his jacket.

"Sheesh I'm the ghost here, I'm the one who should do the surprising.." He said eyeing everyone else.

"No you CANT use Mind Read on me, if I'm going to fairly research and write this paper, then you have to too. Come to the library after classes, I'll be there as well." Dusk said in a more stern voice. He found it much easier to calm his nerves around Nik after having a class to collect himself, but old emotions die hard as Dusk couldn't get past his assertive and almost demanding attitude. But if was to deal with him, he'd have to do it with tact and maturity, absolutely no repeats if this morning was tolerable.

"Understand?" Dusk said making sure he got it clearly. If Nik were to use Mind Read, he wouldn't get much out of it...at least that's what he thought.

The leafeon apologized and gave Lhee a worried look. She decided they should not just leave him there alone. So she slided herself into theswat across from him and introduced herself. "Umm.. Hi! Im Razor Grass, a leafeon. Whats your name?" She gave a nice smile as Lhee reluctantly sat next to her.

Dustin looked up with a somewhat surprised look on his face. He hadn't actually expected for the girl to stay, or for another boy to sit next to her. "O-oh um... Dustin Neal... How do ya do?" he asked awkwardly, giving the two gijinka a sheepish grin. He took another nibble of a lum berry but tried to keep his head up as to not seem disrespectful.

Lhee lets out an annoyed sigh as he's left with little choice but to sit with Razor and Dustin.   He normally wouldn't have minded sitting by himself, but he was actually getting along well with Razor and didn't want to seem rude.  He quietly takes a bite of his burger before looking at Dustin, nodding quietly as the boy introduces himself.

 

Sandshrew...  Ground type, like me.  Never had a problem with a sandshrew before...  Be nice, Bonehead.  You promised you'd try to make friends.  Realizing that he was staring, and that his skull offered practically no chance of reading facial expressions, Lhee smiles slightly.  "...Lhee."

Zoe was lost by the conversation - how had that happened?  When she'd sat down, Dusk had been by himself, and in the time it took her to blink there was a crowd around them!  I'm starting to think they're ALL ghost types!  Did they all come out of the floor or something?  She had opened her mouth a couple times to try and answer questions, but each time someone else had spoken up more quickly.  After this happens a couple times her ears go flat against her head - so much for having a nice conversation!

 

When Melissa asks about her outfit, her ears perk up a little bit and she smiles.  "Because it's cute, duh."  She laughs and tries to think of something else to say before realizing she sat down without getting anything to eat...

 

"Oh jeez, I'll be back...  I should probably have something for lunch, hmm?"  Zoey picks up her backpack and slides out of her seat, winking at the others and holding up a finger as in a 'wait here' gesture before moving towards the lunch line.

"Hey there, pau." Koh said, returning the hug. "Well hello Joshu. It's nice to meet you. So... What's wrong with Melissa? I mean, she's not over here, is there a reason you introduced me to her?" Koh was puzzled. You didn't really introduce someone unless they were with you. Oh well, whatever.

 

 

 

Rune finished emptying his stomach after seeing the horrid display Nik put on. "Jeez that kid is gross. Unborn Pidgey fetuses? That's fucking disgusting." He said to no one in particular. He flushed the toilet then washed his mouth out in the sink. That was not his brightest moment, but could anyone really blame him? A guy pops up in front of you out of bloody nowhere, and then pulls out fertilized eggs and starts munching on them and crushing the bones in his teeth. Just thinking about it again made him want to gag. He needed some mouthwash.

 

Rune resolved to head back to the dorm, grab his mouthwash and come back to the cafeteria. Maybe meet up with Zach again and continue the conversation.

 

After he had finished up in the bathroom, he put away his mouthwash, and returned to the cafeteria. He found Zach with Dusk and an unknown Zorua Gijinka. "Zach, was it? Sorry about that. I don't have the steeliest of stomachs, so that was a bit too disgusting for me. What was it you wanted to talk about?"

Amaya

 

    Amaya was humming to herself as she made her way down to the cafeteria. Some kind of rap or something like that. Something about living young, and wild, and free? During class the Weezing gijinka who sat across from Amaya had been singing it under his breath, completely disregarding the teacher and the lesson. She found the tune to be quite catchy. 

 

     She was just about to the heavy metal door that led to the cafeteria, when it had burst open, the swinging door almost nailing her right in the face if it weren't for the reflexes she had built up from her own chronic clumsiness. The gallade boy, Rune, shot out from the doorway,completely bypassing Amaya and then made off down the hallway. All the while his hands were clutched over his mouth with a panicked expression playing over his eyes.

What...just happened? 

 After a moment, her initial shock had passed, and she continued forward, and pushing open the clanky metal door she entered the cafeturiahhhhhhhh

 

Not immediately, but soon enough she spotted Zoe and Dusk. She sat down.

"What sort of moves do you both know?" He was curious to know what their moves were Water type and Normal type moves were interesting.

"Well, I prefer not to fight, but I know Water Spout, Brine, Surf, and Heavy Slam." Koh said. "I'm more a fan of surfing than using Surf if you catch my drift." Koh chuckled at this and took another bite of his sandwich. "So, since I revealed my moves, what are yours then? You look like a Melleotta, so you probably have some interesting moves."

Zach finally stood up. He had had enough of this. "You're so fucking immature. All he said was that he was gonna be studying fairly in the library! What the hell is wrong with you!? I... I can't. I tried giving you a chance mate but... I can't. I'm done with this." Zach stormed off, giving Rune a glance to acknowledge him and continued walking. He couldn't care less what the Smeargle had to say, so he had left before he could respond. Zach found his way outside to the rock he meditated on that morning and began doing so again. He had let his anger get the better of him and he needed to calm down. He had been really close to simply punching Nik in the face, but he had made himself leave before he did anything rash. Fist to fist, Zach began breathing deeply to try and come himself.

Dustin gave a short nod and a smile to the somewhat scary looking gijinka. Maybe he was the guy that that Smeargle kid insulted... He looks like a Marowak after all...

Those are good moves. Do you use Surf to surf or do you just use a regular surfboard? As for my moves they are, Relic Song, Perish Song, Close Combat and Psychic. I mostly use Relic Song to help me with my moves. I only use Perish Song as an absolute last resort sort of thing." He was going to say more but a massive bang sounded from the other side of the room.

Melissa felt her head slip from its resting place in her hand. She couldn't stop her head so she just let it bang against the table. 'Ow. That really hurt.' She tuned io the conversation and heard Nik say something about not swinging that way or it could have been something entirely different but whatever it was, made her laugh her head off.

Dusk sat there staring at Nik, he could tell he was getting a bit uncomfortable, but for the silliest if reasons. He sighed and closed his notebook as he took one last bite of his pastry.

"Jeez when I actually try to help you, you go and turn it into something weird, I was going to offer help in amends to what I did earlier..but if you won't come,then I don't have the faintest idea how you're going to complete that paper, besides interviewing another ghost. But I'm more than certain you're going to have to cite your sources." Dusk said explaining to him the proper procedure, or at least how he went about it, of partially writing a paper.

Dusk sighed once more and opened up his notebook continuing to write further notes. He had no idea how to go about this situation any longer, and he didn't blame Zach for leaving. He'll have to make it up to him later. He turned to see Amaya had joined in on their little gathering and only shot her a smile. This day was fairly sour from the start...and it was such a beautiful day too.

Rune just rolled his eyes. 'Terrific, now this kid got Zach to go away. It might be a good idea to try and find him.' Rune thought to himself. "Alright, I'm going to go find him. Sorry to leave so soon."

 

As Rune left the cafeteria he started wandering. He was wondering where he would go. He decided to check a few classrooms, coming up empty, as well as the fencing studio, which was entirely deserted. He didn't know which dorm he would be in and thought it would be rude to just knock on random doors and ask if he's in there. He decided to check around the grounds and see if he was somewhere outside.

 

He found him meditating on a rock in the garden. "So, Zach was it? We really need to stop splitting up so quickly." Rune said with a chuckle. "I'm imagining you're a bit peeved about something Nik did back there." Rune rubbed the back of his neck. "So, what was it you wanted to talk about?"

Koh laughed. "I use Surf to actually surf, yeah. It's pretty fun." He said. "I'm guessing you're more of a singer than a dancer then, though. There was a Meleotta girl back home in the Orange Islands who was a really good dancer. She said that she couldn't sing for anything. Is it like, you can do one or the other? I'm not sure. Not to sound insensitive or anything."

Zach shook his head and turned around on the rock. "Yea it's Zach. Nik's being an immature prick and it's pissing me off. I came out here to vent a little. Probably would've been a better idea to go smack around some dummies in the gym which I guess was what I was gonna talk to you about. Just wanted to say you had some pretty good techniques up there. Used your moves effectively and such." Zach gave Rune a slight smile. He began pondering whether or not he actually should go to the gym or not while he waited for Rune to respond.

Synthia had decided to skip lunch. She had already taken in more than her allotted calories on one day; the lab had warned her that repeated offense of this would effectively soften her and weaken her muscle memory. Such things had happened in the past. She was affraid of the step that came after that.

 

Deciding that her next best step was to go to the gym, she headed back to practice her moveset. With any luck, she could discover something about herself that could lead to a brighter future.

"You use Surf to actually surf? That great. At least we use our moves to help us rather than be used for battles. I don't think you can do one or the other. Most Meloetta gijinkas just stick with what they know. I love to sing but I can't dance to save my life. This girl you're talking about may have the same problem except reversed. I think some Meloettas can do both though I'm not too sure about that."

I'd be up for it if you want." Zach was getting excited to be able to fight someone, especially another swordsman, but was dreading the interpretative dancing that was inevitable in a fight with his moveset.

Dusk himself was getting tired if this, the quick assumptions and clueless act was really wearing thin.

"Nik our conversation is over, you will never get an interview from me unless you clean that mind if yours. Good day." Dusk said as he went back to his notebook quite peeved. He could feel that familiar anger rising within him as he held onto his own arm. He turned to the Buizel girl and gave a nervous laugh.

"No no it's fine..." He needed to get out here again...less things escalate once more..he looked up to where Zoey had run off to and felt bad that he had to leave her behind. Looking right beside him was Amaya, whom he also felt bad about leaving, she seemed like she wanted to talk to him but...complications got in the way.

Dusk got up picking up his trash and notebook and floated towards the exit, phasing right through the doors. He headed towards outside where he could get some much needed fresh air. Upon reaching the outdoors Dusk let out a loud frustrated grunt as he threw his notebook down. This was getting very difficult to deal with and he needed someone to talk to about this. He picked up his book once again and floated towards the seating area where few students actually hung around. To his surprise, that Gallade guy and Zach were a ways away making conversation. Dusk sat at the benches and observed from afar, whatever they were talking about, he didn't feel like getting too much involved less he brought his bad mood with him.

Zach nodded. "Sounds like a plan." He stepped through the door and waited in the hallway. "You know I don't think I've fought anything that was part psychic before. I've fought fighting types, well both of my mentors were fighting types, but I've never fought a psychic type. Could be interesting, even though it's neutral to water."

On her way to the gym, however, Synthia got lost again. She saw one of her classmates; one she hadn't met, throw his notebook down. She couldn't tell if it was anger or frustration, but he was certainly upset. She felt something inside her change and 1.. 2.. 3... Synthia learned Charm! She replaced Growl with Charm. Off corse, she didn't fully realize it, so when she walked into the courtyard and sat next to Dusk, she also didn't realize she'd used the fairy type move on the ghost pokemon by saying, "Hi, I'm Synthia. What's wrong?"

 

(Why is her personality changing? Well, she learned a fairy type move and has two very positive outings with Rune. What do you thinks going to happen when she realizes his presence in the courtyard?)

Dusk wasn't so surprised this time around as he was much too frustrated to care so much. However upon looking at the girl beside him, he couldn't help but feel a little at ease...a sort of calmness as she spoke to him. It felt sort of weird but hey, his flavoring emotions had been wary and off the charts lately, why the heck not, plenty if things didn't make much sense to him as he thought.

"Hi...I'm Dusk..I just...I don't know it's confusing myself too." He said as he flustered a sigh as he reached up and took off his mask to rub his strained eyes. Hopefully she didn't freak out too much at his eyes...but he needed the relief.

"I dunno I don't wanna bother you with it..it's silly and dumb and a personal thing really." Dusk said trying to make himself feel better by staging his complication as a mere temporary problem...it was probably much more than that. Though he felt he shouldn't bother another student with his own problem, one he just met anyway. Now that Dusk got a better look at her, she was an Eevee Gijinka. He's never met one up close before, but he wished it was on much better terms.
