Do You Have Emotional Ties To Any Of The Ponies?

Probably Celestia, and it's pretty much thanks to bronies. Lullaby for a Princess(Look up that freaking song if you don't know what it is) made me bawl, and made me realize how beautiful this fandom can be.

Does that count as emotional? ...Well whatever, I'm counting it.

It's gotta be Luna for me as well. I've spent a lot of my life with little or no friends, so it's hard for me to thrive in social gatherings.

Same. I have a strong emotional connection to Luna.

Luna's not on-screen all that often throughout the series, which suggests either she's busy with her royal duties and doesn't have time to do much else, or that she's relatively isolated from everypony else.

I'm pretty isolated from people. An extreme introvert.

I can pretty much relate to all of the CMC, And Dashie as well, that's why RD is my favorite of the mane 6, she has heart and knows how ta use it!

Or it's because she's not even close to a main character and the writers really don't know what to do with her much? Which is why can feel really different between appearances moreso than just about anyone else?

I guess I have some emotional attachment to Rarity cause I have some attachment for all characters I love and I really do love Rarity. I have some for Sweetie Belle largely because I do for Rarity. I also have some for Scootaloo cause I empathize with her desire for a sibling since I never had one myself and kind of always wanted one growing up and cause generally speaking I really enjoy CMC episodes. And Celestia cause I feel bad with how the fandom tends to treat her and banishing her sister and being away from her for a 1000 years must have been absolutely horrible for her, I feel pity for Celestia far more than I do Luna.

I actually kind of have an emotional tie to Babs Seed because she's a relatable character for me, in a way. She was bullied and reacted in a negative way, but wants to be able to change. I was bullied all the way through school, and now in my final year of school before I'm off to university, I still get a little bit of trouble from these two guys in my drama class.

My reactions are a little different to Babs', not as physical, but there's similarities there. I hold grudges (I'm really trying to stop that...), I have trust issues and tend to keep a lot of things about myself from people, I immediately associate certain things with bullying and I can react badly if someone says the wrong thing. It was reassuring to see a character like Babs, one used to show how bullying can effect someone. I am a little disappointed that we haven't seen more of her :(

Twilight Sparkle. Simply, her and I really have SO MUCH in common. We are both

Intelligent

Unsocial (Moreso in the beginning episodes)

Nerdish.

And we also both are bothered by certain organizational flaws. In my case, it's hypocrisy once you look inside my backpack :P

Applejack. < My #1 Mane 6

She taught me, that you have to be strong when situations are hard.

Applejack went back home during the episode, "Cutie Mark Chronicles." I used to feel that I needed to get away from home. That I didn't really belong where I was. I tried to leave at one point, and started walking down the street away from my home, but I realized that I knew where I had to be. I had to be home, just like AJ knew that her true home was at Sweet Apple Acres.

Applejack also taught me that I should always help my friends when they are in need. She is always there for her friends, even though sometimes she can be a bit skeptical about situations. I always try to help my friends out whenever they are in need because seeing friends hurt, upset, or in trouble make me upset.

Also, Applejack is afraid to lose, like me. I'm always afraid that I'll do something wrong or not win. I get really disappointed. For example, a lot of times, I am afraid to answer a question in class because I am afraid I will be wrong. But AJ taught me that I should accept defeat. (Also a bit of Rainbow Dash in here I suppose.)

( Wow I don't think I've ever typed this much in my life... xD )

Vinyl Scratch < My #1 Background Character

She doesn't have any major roles in MLP FiM-yet I hope :3- but I can relate to her %100.

Her love of music is just like me! And the wubby ones to be specific. <3

( I hope these made sense. I'm really tired X3 )

I have an emotional tie to Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, and sometimes Rainbow Dash.

I was dead until the moment I met you. I was a powerless corpse pretending to be alive. Living without power, without the ability to change my course, was akin to a slow death. Pinkie Pie.

I first got into MLP when I was in middle school. Middle school was the worst for me--I got bullied pretty bad, whether it be just verbally or getting beat up, someone was being mean to me. I believed everything they said about me. When I started watching MLP, and saw Pinkie Pie, I felt happy. Pinkie Pie made me smile, and a lot of people say I'm a lot like her now, too.  :)

For me liking a show means being able to sympatize with the characters and MLP:FiM certainly succeeded in doing so. I've learned to love the ponies for their unique characteristics and behavior and wouldn't mind being sucked into Equestria myself to have fun with the ponies there since they all seem to be a nice bunch of fellows, just like this forum. :muffins:

  • 2 weeks later...

I can relate a lot to Twilight, as before I started watching mlp (this is gonna be mushy and cliche so BEWARE!) I was just like Twi, and until watching I didn't realise about friendship, since watching it I've learned at the same time as Twilight with every episode.

*I suppose your wondering why I didn't know about friendship eh? I have Aspergers, which makes my social skills and friendships hard.
