I hate this episode, why One they where really mean to poor Fluttershy, Two I just don't like Flutterbat, and Three the episode didn't teach "That you shouldn't let anypony pressure you into doing something you don't think is right. Sometimes you have to tell even your closest friends "no". I think that not harassing, would have been a better lesson because they didn't give Fluttershy a choice. Does anypony agree?

They gave Fluttershy a choice. They were adamant, yes. They sang a song where she was the only voice of dissent, that's a given. But they still gave her a choice.

 

Applejack: So what's it gonna be, Fluttershy? Will you do your Stare on the bats or not?

Well, now I know what episode I'll curl up and watch on Halloween...

Anyway, allow me to begin by saying that this episode, much like many of the other Sweet Apple Acres episodes, gave me a huge craving for shiny, juicy apples. Watching a lot of creatures suck the juice out of dozens of apples didn't help, either.

Yes, Fluttershy... I'm hungry, too...

Unfortunately, I'd eaten our last apple this morning for breakfast.

Anyway, I also liked the song and the return of Rainbow's cider cravings.

I thoroughly enjoyed this episode!

But what about the partial fang in Fluttershy's mouth at the end of the episode?

The reason I said that was because they were gonna keep pushing her in till she does it, and being the way she is they kinda knew that she couldn't sat no.

Who couldn't love this episode? i mean you have Pinkies elite class of randomness, Twilight accidently messing things up and turning Fluttershy into Flutterbat, Flutterbat being entirely adorable herself, and other comical satire that made the episode just perfect.

This was by far the best episode of the season aside from the first 2.  Those were amazing.  The song in Bats was the best as well.  I don't think I've heard a better one on the show.

I thought this was an okay episode. I liked it but what really got my interest was the revealing fact that Fluttershy actually has to learn each animal's language personally. Maker's you wonder what else she knows and what else she doesn't know. Any thoughts on this? I'm open to discussion XD

All her petty concerns are frankly quite annoying though.  It's like... they're bats.  Nobody cares.  They take advantage of the whole shy thing way to much.  It's annoying after like... the first season.

1. This is now my favorite Fluttershy episode- forget Hurricane Fluttershy! (Well, not completely...)

 

2. Fruit-Bat Round Up SHOULD DEFINITELY be a song in the future- even if it's another season!

I think that the Bats song in Bats! is an analogy to WW2.

 

First of all, Applejack is an excellent orator. She also uses propaganda techniques, such as darkening the "stage" to incite fear, and dehumanizing the bats by uglifying them. The bats are blamed for the poor state of the orchard (nation). Guess who else did this?

 

Fluttershy also uses propaganda techniques, lightening herself and the bats. But her's is weak, since the strongest pull is fear as outlined in the video below.

The ponies end up following Applehit- (Oops, I slipped). Rarity and Rainbow Dash then reiterate the hate in their own words, just as journalists and radio personalities did.
