hawkflame 3,310 December 29, 2013 Share December 29, 2013 Yes, I love Football, though it sometimes seems like the Jets' ownership tries to turn me against it. In fact, outside of the playoffs and Thanksgiving, Jets games are the only ones I watch. Sig by Thunderstorm Check out my Rarity fansite!
TorqueEffect 112 December 29, 2013 Share December 29, 2013 Want a "real" game of Football, try Rugby. Not allot of padding, or strong helmets, and game doesn't stop every few fucking seconds. Football is basically Rugby, but the pansy version. Only sport I find entertaining while watching is Hockey, but since our local minor league team folded, I haven't had any interest since. Sports on the whole feel boring if you don't have a team to root for.

Like, at all Football players pretty much got suits of armor under those jerseys Also, there's much less illegal hits in Rugby Ergo, Rugby players are tougher. Those SOB's are insane. Avatar tag: shipping 299 December 29, 2013 Share December 29, 2013 Secretly, it's kinda fun that it gets European peoples' panties in a bunch. This! Since my team's in the playoffs, I'm loving every bit of it. Watching it at home is great but there's nothing like being there in the stadium. Last time I went, we broke the world record for the loudest open air stadium in the world. The whole stadium shook like we were in an earthquake! Needless to say, I didn't have much of a voice or much hearing left afterwards. Sig by the one and only Doc Volt! Gone but not forgotten! Guess who's back!!! Luna damn it!Your PMs are not safe! TorqueEffect 112 December 29, 2013 Share December 29, 2013 As an American. Rugby >>>>> Football I don't see how anyone can enjoy a sport that has to stop every few seconds. If Rally Racing, and F1 was more prominent in the States, those would be the sports I would follow. But they get almost no coverage at all over here.
crazitaco 596 December 29, 2013 Share December 29, 2013 (edited) Blegh i hate football. I say this as someone who was in the band, forced to attend all our HS games, and knows the rules of the game. It doesn't change my opinion that football is way too long and boring. I don't know how guys can sit there and watch it for hours. Actually, it's much faster paced than NFL football, and there is quite a bit of running around and MUCH less order in the way things work with the team on the field Rugby players are insane, dude. I love watching Football, and those are tough dudes and all, but Rugby players are basically doing what Ray Lewis did, but without pads and almost no time to catch your breath. Guest90210 3,568 December 29, 2013 Share December 29, 2013 (edited) I really dislike football. The players get paid WAY too much to throw a ball around and tackle each-other. I live in one of those towns who's whole reputation is built up on football, and the way they glorify it and build up a whole week for a game is just dumb. In my opinion it is very overrated and not fun to watch in the slightest. But that is entirely my opinion. (all except the first point.) I disagree that they're overpaid. With the amount of money the NFL makes, the player's deserve a fair cut. And it isn't as easy as just "throwing a ball around and tackling each other". It's extremely physical and is incredibly hard to be good enough to be in the big leagues. As an American. Rugby >>>>> Football I don't see how anyone can enjoy a sport that has to stop every few seconds. If Rally Racing, and F1 was more prominent in the States, those would be the sports I would follow. But they get almost no coverage at all over here. Well Soccer is constantly moving but I don't find it as exciting as football. It stops a lot but the NFL is brilliant in making those stops feel like they pass in no time. The camera work, replay system, commentary, etc is phenomenal. I don't understand it in the least why people go crazy over it. Ditto with Soccer in Europe. How anyone could go crazy over a sports team is beyond me. Oh god and don't get me started on riots caused by Football (Both European Football, and American Football) It would be like bronies rioting over Twilight getting wings, or Derpy speaking, and I mean literally going out in the streets and flipping cars, setting shit on fire.
Jokuc 8,173 December 30, 2013 Share December 30, 2013 (edited) uh idk I don't care. I have never watched it or never played it so I wouldn't know. I prefer "normal" football (which you weird Americans call soccer). Inactive01 5,299 December 30, 2013 Share December 30, 2013 I don't think I can ever like American Football. Mostly because most of the game's just standing around with strategy. With other sports, you have to make your strategies on the go, especially with world football (soccer). Plus, on those sports, the action's continuous.
Clover Heart 978 December 30, 2013 Share December 30, 2013 (edited) Ugh. Football is the most boring sport there is. I'll admit, I'm not really one for sports, but football is just so much worse than anything else. Of the main sports in America (which I consider to be football, baseball, hockey and basketball, though you may correct me if I've left any out,) the other 3 at least have some entertainment value. Basketball and hockey are basically constant action, so there's always something to look at. Baseball is a little bit slower going, but there's set-up then action, set-up, action. In that respect, it's a little like football. But the difference is that baseball actually feels like it goes somewhere. You're always moving forward. Even though you have to wait between pitches and innings, the game is always moving forward, so it makes it a bit more entertaining to watch. Football is play for 2 seconds, set up for 5 minutes, gain 5 yards, lose 5 yards... it basically feels like everything is at a standstill, constantly. And watching on TV is even worse because you have to have the commentators over-analyze every single little thing that just happened. Which takes another 10 minutes. It's the least entertaining thing... ever. It's actually frustrating to watch, because you just want something, anything to happen. It feels like 90% of the time, nothing's happening. And then when something finally does happen, it's not exciting like it should be. Because I'm so fed up and frustrated with the whole thing, I don't even care that something just happened. Something happened? About fucking time! I'd rather watch grass grow. At least the grass doesn't shrink every time it gets longer. Also, my home team sucks harrrrrd. They haven't won in over 50 years. T.O.P Of the World 20 December 31, 2013 Share December 31, 2013 (edited) I actually don't care about it at all... I know so little about American football, I only know that they wear helmets and shoulder pads... And they say touchdown instead of goal. xD I am such an oblivious Australian, don't mind me.. Lol, my team is pretty bad... It's the Gold Coast Titans, yes they look flashy in their blue, yellow and white, and their mascot as a knight in shining armor, but they're pretty hated on a lot, haha. xD Edited December 31, 2013 by An Espurr Ɩ’м тнɛ σиɛ ʏσʋ ℓσʌɛ вʋт ƨσяяʏ Ɩ’м α вα∂ вσʏƳɛƨ, ʝʋƨт ℓɛαʌɛ мɛ, ɢσσ∂ вʏɛ, ʏσʋ’яɛ α ɢσσ∂ ɢιяℓƬнɛ мσяɛ тιмɛ ραƨƨɛƨ, тнɛ мσяɛ ʏσʋ ɢɛт тσ κиσω мɛ, σиℓʏ ∂ιƨαρρσιитмɛитƨ ωιℓℓ яɛмαιи вʋтβαвʏ ∂σи’т ℓɛαʌɛ мɛ, Ɩ κиσω ʏσʋ ƨтιℓℓ ℓσʌɛ мɛƜнʏ, ʏɛƨ, Ɩ’ℓℓ тɛℓℓ ʏσʋ тнɛ тяʋтн, Ɩ иɛɛ∂ ʏσʋ
Envy 6,169 December 31, 2013 Share December 31, 2013 Back in high school I really did not like it. I was in marching band, and the games were sooo boring. They were basically - outside of the times we played - sitting there watching the clock tick down... And getting frustrated when it stopped. lol I did not understand football back then, nor did I want to. It was considered a guy thing... and strangely enough, even though I don't usually believe in blindly following gender stereotypes at all, I embraced it here. I also thought I was so above liking football. lol ..But my mom always liked it, and in my first year of college, she somehow got me to start liking it. I still don't even like admitting it, years later. I still want to pretend that I'm above enjoying such things, but I'm not. I can say it came to me more as a matter of team spirit than actually liking the sport. Team spirit was another thing I had not even the slightest bit of in high school. xD I think it came about because when I left high school, I didn't get to be in marching band again. So while I hated football in high school, in college it became nostalgia to me. I came to my high school's games to watch the marching band, and then I just began to enjoy the whole atmosphere... or something... It's only tied to college for me now. I have no interest in professional football. They have no marching bands. They don't have that atmosphere that dragged me into it. lol So, that's that. My interest is waning, though. I'm hardly up to watch the games anymore, since I work Saturday nights. 'Tis for the best, I suppose. I still know that deep down football is stupid, and I'm ridiculous for having gotten into it... >.< Everything needs more woodwind!
