What was the impact of the sun and moon remaining up?

In the season 4 preme the sun and the moon are up at the same time.

It was cool, but in the context of Equistra had the sun and the moon remained up what would have happened?

 

Simply put wouldn't it have been just as detramental to have had the sun remain up the whole time as just the sun and the moon?

 

In the contexts of the show?

 

I know this might sound nit pickie, but these are the two things based around the two core alicorns on the show,

 

so i thought it might be something to discuss.

The episode only focused on the mental distress that the sun and moon appearing together seemed to cause. The sun and moon often share the sky on Earth with no ill effect, but if the Earth stopped rotating it would cause ecological havoc. Equestria sure isn't Earth, but I'm thinking the same thing would happen. It be fun to know how deeply the writers thought about it.

I think since Equestria doesn't rotate the sun and moon wouldn't have an impact in their universe at all. The episode would only focus on the mental impact that it has on the inhabitants.

It only really focused on the mental impact, buttt maybe it caused crops to go all insane and it affected the Everfree's growth even more.

It was basically just there to show that something had happened to the princesses.

Would be interesting if it was left longer seeing as the equestrian moon apparently has it's own 'night field/phase/thing' that it brings with it.I guess a half/half burning death and freezing nuts off. Equestria makes no freaking sense.

 

When ours are both out, daylight obviously triumphs.

I've no clue but I think it's probably focusing on the impact of mentality on the ponies and if they did remain up, I would say that it would pretty much be a prophecy of some sort to a great threat waiting to be unleashed to wreak havoc upon the citizens of Equestria or it would be a warning to a much more dangerous threat than anyone could ever possibly imagine.
