searching PROJECT: HORNED OWL RP (OOC/discussion) 1 spot open

The year is 2342, and pony kind has made godlike advances in technology and expansion. Sprawling, technologically advanced cities have been built up around the entire country of equestria. The age of swords is over. Even magic, a once important staple of pony life, has had it's power signicantly diminished as even unicorns rely more heavily upon the advances of science. However.... All is not peaceful in equestria anymore, as, seemingly out of no where.... A lone figure appeared with an entire private army of mechanized soldiers and horrific war machines, declaring war upon all pony kind. One might think that this lone figure, known only as Flare, would have an agenda of some kind of gain, such as an independent territory, or money, but no. When he appeared, he simply declared that all life would be destroyed for his personal amusement. However, the goal to destroy all life only underlies one that is even more diabolical. One that you will discover. Flare's soldiers are almost entirely made up of technology. Some are even full mechs. Each has enough of firepower to take on a group of regular military ponies and still be the victor.Risen out of the city of New Diaxion, flare has but all taken over the city, and is slowly expanding his power and influence. You are part of an elite raid unit, the angels of Diaxion, utilizing elite training, the newest technology in firearms, and even 2 specially built mechs to assist in military operations in new Diaxion. Your mission is to stop flare's encroachment upon the city, discover his manufacturing base, disable it, and even kill flare himself, if possible. Be warned.... Flare has enhanced himself with the greatest technologies that only he had ever had acess to. He can teleport to any location within the city that he wishes, is somehow as big as the special mechs that the angels of new Diaxion are utilizing, and has ungodly combat abilities. but first, you must accomplish your other goals. I am calling for the help of 7 others.

 

What you're up against:

Soldiers with cybernetic enhancements.

Full automail mechanical, computer run soldiers.

War machine mechs

Hovering mechs

Just to name a few. They are generally about the size of a pony, just mechanical. However, this is not all that flare has to offer.....

 

 

You will begin around the metropolitan area in new Diaxion. Your first mission is to take back that part of the city and establish a base of operations. The mechs with their pilots will be dropped in with the aid of airships. The rest if the group are traveling by convey. Your commander, rezan, will brief you all by earpiece. Once the mechs are dropped into the rendezvous point and everyone is assembled, the mission begins. Remember. There are citizens still out there, trying to survive. Rescue them If you can. Choose your load out and class, and let the battle commence.

 

Soldier- as a soldier class angel unit, you are the most balanced of the group. Bringing an automatic and an rpg with two shells per mission, you are a force to be reckoned with. You start out with moderate ammo each mission.

 

Gunslinger- my favorite. You bring light body armor and two pistols or small, handheld automatics to the table along with extra ammo. Be warned that as your guns are not as strong, you may have to use a few more bullets to get the job done on bigger targets. You also have less body armor, but are faster and you carry more ammo to compensate.

 

Medic- you bring medical equipment, a tactical shotgun, and a small side arm to the table. People will get wounded. You will be relied upon. You can handle bullet wounds, deep cuts, and anything else within reasonable healing. You have 1 adrenaline shot to help the near incapacitated to their feet. Your armor is a little less than a soldier's but still above the gunslinger's.

 

Sniper- you carry a .50 calibur sniper rifle, extra ammo, and a small pistol or knife as a sidarm. Your armor is on par with the gunslinger's. from a distance, you can kill just about anything, even able to put quite a dent in the larger mechanized units in flare's army. You are quite agile, and escape if you need to. But be warned, the assistance of others may be needed if you are cornered.

 

Deathskulker- a very special stealth unit that uses an active cloaking device to appear invisible for a time, you are a Cqc combatant. You have a special sword that can cut through the mechanical abominations along with a small sidearm of your choice. You are excessively fast with several enhancements made to your limbs and even capable of somewhat graceful acrobatics. Be warned. That cloaking doesn't last forever and you have the least amount of armor of any other class.

 

Mech pilot- you drive one of the unit's 2 specialized mechs. You are the most heavily armored and also have the most firepower of any other class. You carry an automatic rifle for your mech that can tear up enemy forces and also have access to 3 horizontal carpet bomb grenades that can destroy most things in an area. Be warned, you are not the god of war in this thing. Most enemies will perceive you as the biggest threat and will concentrate all fire on you. If you take too much damage, the mechs will have to be transported for repairs. The mechs are 8 ft. Tall, as most normal ponies are only 3-4 ft tall, of course. You will be very slow, and will have trouble accessing some buildings. In tight spaces, your maneuverability is very limited. Expect to be shot at. But over all, a cool class.

 

LIMIT 2 PER CLASS.

 

All weapons are outfitted to take on the threat with superheated bullets that can punch through the mechanized enemy soldiers. Melee weapons have super heated edges that can cut through the mechs.

 

Rules:

1- NO GODMODDING.

2- no " insane " pesonalities.

3- romance is in fact allowed if it may somehow happen.

4- in order to get in, what goes good with hamburgers?

5- alicorns allowed, but be warned. Magic and power are diminished. unicorns magic will be somewhat limited and Pegasi flight will run the risk of you getting spotted and shot At. Fly at your own risk

6- keep it friendly.

7- as mentioned above, limit 2 people per class.

8- first come, first serve. Whoever comes first will have their OCs and class choice examined first. Needless to say, that does not mean later applicants will not get accepted.

9- the limit is 8 for characters by the way.

The rp will begin when all 8 slots are taken up. If the wait or the slots is too long, then it will automatically begin when at least 6 are taken. If so, applicants. can still be accepted and written into the story.

If you want to discuss modifications to a class you want, then that is acceptable. Simply tell me what the modification is and we can compromise.

 

Backstory for characters is highly encouraged. Like how your OC joined the angel unit. That being said, this will be somewhat of a long RP. Expect to be in for the long haul.

I don't even know if you will accept me into your rp, but it sounds like a lot of fun. My character is actually a changeling, butvhe wants to be like everypony else, and to have friends. To proove that to everyone he joins the regular military and works his way up until he is offered a space in the angels by rezan himself. Okay you're in. The only reason I'm afraid to have changling characters in RPs is because there was one not too long ago where I tried running a legend of the dragoon RP and one of the OCs was an insane changling who's personality would change everytime the character took another form. I'm sorry I was just taking precautions. I will omit that rule XD.

Yeah, for some reason a minotaur seemed a pretty standard race to make an OC for when I was actually making him, but I don't know when I've actually seen another one.

 

As for class, I guess I'll go with soldier, but can I make him more melee oriented, where he still carries a gun, but uses an axe as his primary weapon? And also possibly be more defensive than offensive?

 

And I was thinking the same thing about the mech until I saw that someone just applied for it. But still.

Sure thing. The axe will of course come equipped with what's needed to cut through the machines. That said, how big is this axe? A one hand war axe or a two hander? If its a two hander, then would you have a problem trading it for the rpg?

Its nothing against you, friend. It's just that I let an OC like that into my legend of dragoon roleplay and the results.... Not too good. Keep in mind that this is only to protect the other roleplayers and to ensure that everyone has a great time. Without the others, this rp is not possible. Now I don't have a problem letting you in the rp. I just feel like the OC needs a bit of tweaking. That " consumed by hatred" personality is one I've seen in alot of RPs and generally leads to roleplayers fighting amongst eachother for various reasons. I just want to protect everyone and ensure they have a good time.

Update: alright. Due technical difficulties on vesperia's account, he has sent me the description via mobile phone. I cannot show you all due to technology constraints ( I use an iPod XD) but the OC has been approved. This gives us the minimum six needed. The rp will start a little later on today. I'm sorry to have kept you all waiting.

 

Update: we still have 2 spaces remaining. This rp will still be accepting even after we start. New additions will be added on.

Ignore the backstory, that was for another RP. Basically Neuro is a young tactical mastermind that used to be very rich because he inherited his fathers conpany. He lost everything due to the war, so now all he wants is to take revenge. Lon used to be his bodyguard, but he is now his friend and swore to help him take revenge since he wanted to have some of his own as well.

 

Is this possible? Like neuro walks the mech but Lon aims? And the mech might have to be a bit larger... If it's not possible remove lon...
