Should I be told which episodes to like or hate?

When you look at me, I'm so dependent on other people's opinions, like Digibrony and Tommy Oliver, that I never bother forming my own opinions, especially if they conflicted with these other people.

So, with that said, if any time a person or group hates a certain episode, should that mean I should hate it, too?  Or, can I go against the grain and like an episode for what it is, perceived flaws and everything?

Let me ask you this.. did anyone tell you to come here and ask such a question?

I'm gonna fathom a guess and say no.

You may be confused, but capable of making your own desisions. (Which is a good thing)

So that leads to the next question. How do these episodes make you feel?

You don't need to follow the crowed for self worth. These guys put out good information regarding the shows... but bottom line is that they are only people like you and I who present an arguement from their prospective. There is no right or wrong answer, its all on what it means to you.

But hay. Don't take my word for it, that's a desision you have to make for yourself.

You don't need to be told which episodes to like or hate, you decide on which episodes you like or hate from your own experiences from watching said episodes. If you want a person's opinion on an episode, that's fine but you don't need their opinion to tell you which episode to like or hate.

After you watch an episode, you dictate how you like or hate the episode. You don't have to be dependent on the opinion of others.

What? Why that's ridiculous. I can understand where you're coming from, but everyone interprets things differently. Just because someone else hates something doesn't mean you need to. :) Like/hate what you want. We live in a world of free speech.

I form an opinion as I watch the episodes, but sometimes after I watch analysis videos, I come to enjoy the episode more. Maybe because I missed something, or there were some great parts, that I didn't directly notice.

What often happens for me is; "Hmm, that was a awesome episode, but I can't put a finger on what was entertaining" watching analysis, "ah, so those elements helped the pacing, and got me interested"  and so on..... kinda ^^

If you don't want to have your own opinion, then whatever. That is pretty much America at this point so it isn't anything new.

I do encourage you to actually develop your own opinion on episodes, but I don't exactly care either way.

I would say, just watch the show every episode through and find out for yourself. It's from experience that truly determines whether or not you like or hate an episode.

If you were asked which episodes to either like or hate, watch and experience it first hand before you make your decision to skip it and hate it, or love it and watch it over again.

Reviews and other people's analyses of things should not cause you to devalue your own opinions or deter you from thinking about what they're discussing. I'm sure the reviewers want exactly the opposite response, and are only putting out their own thoughts on the matter. If a famous reviewer has an opinion contrary to yours, so what? The point of responses to episodes are only to share opinions and maybe to get others to think of things in new ways. There are loads of people who don't like any given episode. There are countless more who think the show is unwatchable. Why listen to any of them? Don't close your mind, but enjoy what you enjoy and don't let others get you down.

No, taste is subjective and only you can decide what you like or don't like.

You're an individual with a mind of your own, so use it! If one reviewer says something one way, you have to remember that it's just one possible perspective out of many, and that these reviews are typically created to make people think more about the episodes, not necessarily to change the opinions of others. Latching onto another person's opinion is blind and only serves to devalue your own judgment.

Take a break from Digibrony and Tommy Oliver for a while and just watch the episodes and form your own opinions. There's no right or wrong opinion, so if you end up enjoying an episode that might be more unpopular amongst the fandom, then big deal. It's all subjective so don't worry if you're in the majority or the minority. I find myself disagreeing with Digibrony all the time, and I don't even watch anything from Tommy Oliver after his "Why Applejack Gets No Love" video put me off so badly for how strongly I disagreed with it.

Some episodes are going to be more popular than others, but instead of relying on analysis videos or the opinions of popular YouTube bronies, you should have a little more confidence in your own personal tastes. A large chunk of the fandom hates Spike At Your Service for example, yet I loved it and have no problem writing an essay on why I think it's a great episode in spite of its flaws, and nobody can prove I'm wrong for feeling that way about it.

The bottom line is I like what I like and prefer to make up my own mind. I have had some opinions that are popular some unpopular and some that are popular with some people than unpopular with others but they are mine and I make no apologies for having them.

Nope.

You should form your own opinions.

have you ever disliked something but not known why?

you can tell when something works,

and sometimes a outside voice can explain to you "oh maybe that's what i was thinking."

it doesn't always,

i sat down with you guys to figure out why i hated bats.

and you all really helped ^^.

Yes: Scootaloo is best pony and Sleepless In Ponyville is the best episode.

But being serious, there’s nothing wrong with seeing both sides of an argument to make your mind up out of it, but it’s brainless and silly just to jump on the bandwagon on what some people might say just because that’s what they say, it can be a very bad idea in more serous situations outside of just a cartoon show about ponies to not use your brain.

Absolutely not, we are bronies not sheep, while may agree on some things, there are occasions where we must make an individual effort and opinion. As I mention about Tommy Oliver and Digibro, I like their analysis but I can not agree completely with every paraphrase, especially when they briskly skip over funny and enjoyable moments, I don't just watch MLP for story but also to enjoy and have an emotion, although it is an analysis and it is pedantic about story, but is not quite a review, I rather watch a review of an episode rather than telling the mechanics of story structure, that being said for the best analysis and review balance, go to that guy with the glasses, chiefly the Nostalgia Critic, he can entertain and inform with great care, finally I say what does the episode mean to you, and what does it make you feel; not regurgitate what some else have said.

No, your opinion what episode you like or don't like is your own and you should never change your mind just because someone disagrees with you.

Having differing opinions about characters and episodes is what makes us unique and without them, this forum would be quite dull as everything would already have been said in a single post with nothing new to be contributed.

Seeing both sides is a good skill, but I don't think you should feel like you have to choose anything because there are things in the world people are indifferent about and that's fine

It's highly recommended of you to learn to form your own opinions. Some things people may hate in an episode may be things you actually enjoy so there's no reason to take any opinions as fact. If you enjoy a hated episode, enjoy it, if you hate a beloved episode, hate it; you shouldn't let people dictate which episode you should like and which episode you should hate.
