Pinkie theory.

Now, i have a nutty theory about the writers and pinkie and dhx toying with us.

 

If i'm correct Pinkie is gonna have one good to great episode every 6 episodes.

I think their perfectly capable of getting pinkie right all the time but they have her slip off so when they do get pinkie pie right,

 

we all lose our minds and it's like a special event.

 

Pinkie apple pie, pinkie's pride,

 

some where between 13-18  (episodes) we're gonna have another home run pinkie episode and I will rule that day.

 

Suppose i'm right.  How do you feel about the fact they dumb down pinkie between her bouts of epicness?

 

I feel mixed about this.

I think it's just that the writers don't know what to do with pinkie when they write stuff like group episodes. So they think "let's just make her do something random that will be funny."

That's incredibly farfetched. If there was some sort of pattern, it's coincidental. The writers don't write the characters bad on purpose just so they can surprise us; there are better ways to do it.

i don't even think they have her dumbed down between episodes. but that could just be because i'm just not a fan of the pinkie.

anyway, i feel that if they do it, it's something that has to be done. otherwise she'll just be the main character instead of twilight.

in all fairness of writers not being able to write a char is AJ.

 

i mean there isnt much you can do with her...unlike her friends who have quirks and dreams...AJs pretty content with what she has and pretty is stable minded...and there isnt much you can use from that at all.

 

unless you force her to fib or lie and needs to be reminded of her own element as the others have had.

That is a little farfetched don't you think? If there was a pattern like that, then the writers would be doing that pattern every six episodes which is unlikely because not every writer can write a perfect episode in a pattern like that.

but hay if she gets a good episode in the next 6 ,

i think it's by design that pinkie stands out in one out of six episodes.

should be pretty easy to prove right or wrong no?

 

I mean yeah good pinkie is a subjective thing,

but i'm suggesting will get a pinkie pie, or pinkie pride quality pinkie once in the next six episodes during episodes

13,14,15,16,17 or 18

and the other five her quality will be lacking.

 

Suppose i'm right?  And we only gotta wait 6 weeks to find out,

The problem with Pinkie, as with any other ponies treated like this, is that she's often thrown into an episode while not being the slightest bit relevant. Yes, Pinkie Pie's a comedic character, but her comedy comes from deeper character traits of hers, which are given heavy focus when she has her own episodes. The thing is, giving her actions and comedic timing fleshed-out motives and making it make sense and in-character isn't easy to do for a one-minute appearance on the screen.

 

The writers "get away" with still keeping her zany humor by just not giving a motive. By just making her funny for the sake of Pinkie being funny. If she's only going to be on the screen for a brief period, may as well milk the humor out her while you've got the time, right?

 

I disagree with it, but I can understand where they're coming from, at least. Personally, I think they should just stop forcing everypony to be relevant.

Pinkie Pie is such a great character, they have to dumb her down so she doesn't steal the show.
