Cwanky 17,579 February 19, 2014 Share February 19, 2014 This does create a bit of a quandary though. You don't just "give up" a bad habit and it magically goes poof outta your life. What happens if it starts popping up again whether I'm in Equestria or on Earth? Is Molestia gonna come and reprimand me? I suppose I could give up procrastination, I need to do so anyways, but that's gonna be a tough habit to break. Remember a habit is not something you can just easily rid yourself of.

You mean as in, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLkc1huIBCo See that's the problem I'm looking at what defines a habit here on dictionary.com hab·it1 [hab-it] Show IPA noun 1.an acquired behavior pattern regularly followed until it has become almost involuntary: the habit oflooking both ways before crossing the street. 2. customary practice or use: Daily bathing is an American habit. 3. a particular practice, custom, or usage: the habit of shaking hands. 4. a dominant or regular disposition or tendency; prevailing character or quality: She has a habit of looking at the bright side of things. 5.addiction, especially to narcotics (often preceded by the ). The relevant definitions are in red and I don't think its that easy to give up a lot of habits. If it were, the world would be a lot better as a place. Permanent exile for 1 little slip up is more than a tad harsh, which makes the 3 strikes laws seem benign. I may have to pass on this.

Shine 166 February 19, 2014 Share February 19, 2014 Hell yes, I would do it! Although, I'm a bit concerned about the part where you never actually get to sleep... wouldn't that be really unhealthy? The worst habit I have is probably eating really unhealthy food, but I think that living in Equestria would actually help solve that, because ponies always eat fruits and vegetables and stuff. Even their cakes don't seem to be unhealthy like in our world, because they can eat them all the time and never get sick. Problem solved! 1 You are a ghost, driving a meat-coated skeleton made out of stardust. What have you got to be afraid of?

TheChosenPony 279 February 19, 2014 Share February 19, 2014 Uh, that would mean, by the end of the plot, you can only stay in one world. and I'm afraid that wouldn't be up to you to decide... It would be your soul that's awake Hey, that's a good idea! Well, yeah, I realize that your body would be asleep, but... that isn't the only part of you that needs rest. I'm just remembering that scene from Donnie Darko (not sure if you've ever seen it, but it's a pretty badass sci-fi thriller) where Gretchen and Donnie tell their teacher they want to invent a device that will show babies peaceful images while they sleep to replace the darkness, and the teacher says that they should have thought about the fact that you need darkness when you sleep for a reason. I'm not sure how scientific his statement was, but it just seems to me like it would get exhausting to always be conscious. 1 You are a ghost, driving a meat-coated skeleton made out of stardust. Shift 4,272 February 19, 2014 Share February 19, 2014 (edited) I would totally do that. The bad habit i'd give up is staying awake 2 o'clock or later when I go to bed 10 o'clock or earlier. Denim&Venöm 18,966 February 20, 2014 Share February 20, 2014 Would be an interesting experience. More of an excuse to get more sleep. Heck the longest I've ever slept is 27 hours. I could spend a full day awake in Equestria. Hard to say if I would change my habits, since I don't have any bad habits that aren't inherently a part of my personality, and thus, hard to control or notice when they come up. And what constitutes a bad habit is up to interpretation. Who decides which habits are good or bad? My family has told me that I'm slow, inconsiderate, get easily angered, always have to have the last word, wait until the last minute to do things, always negative and pessimistic, and that I hate change. But these aren't just habits. This is how I function on a default level, without even thinking. These traits are a part of me, my character flaws, the mindset I developed through the years. To change those would be to start my entire life from scratch. To do so would be to put on a facade for the world and be dishonest with myself and those around me, and Equestria sounds like the place that would embrace me for who I am. As the morale in Simple Ways stated, you shouldn't have to change for others.
