The Tales Of Being A Closet Brony

Well, one morning I was drawing some fan art when mom walked in on my drawing. I quickly stuffed the paper under her work, but not fast enough. She walked over and tried to find it, but I hid it well. She didn't find it and asked me what I was doing. I said the chair was very comfortable (actually it's hard as a rock), and she believed me and walked away. I nearly passed out from stress. Unfortunately, she found out later on and now I'm on this site at my own risk.

I'm not exactly a closet brony anymore because a not-nice-person at my school found out and told everybody. But I still hide it and I never tell or show anyone older than me. Which I strange because I'm doing this in my father's work office with about ten other people around me.

When i was a closet brony i had a really close call simpler to the tab not closing when I was at school i thought i should watch a brony video i saw and then i heard my friend giggling and i asked him what it was he said "I didn't think you liked stuff meant for children" and i said it was my school project as a quick save which worked
but i was so scared and stopped even think of anything related to MLP in school.

I would have said the same thing. That was a nice save though. In my case all I did was come MLP forums. I thought the coast clear it was completely empty and what do you know about a group of people came in. Just when I thought the coast is clear. It was a scary moment that's for sure. I was browsing around this site on the computer, when Dad walked right in on me. I didn't have enough time to close the window, so I dragged the window right DOWN so that my dad couldn't see what I was looking at. And, boy, what bad timing! I was ON MY PROFILE PAGE, where my dad, by some chance, could see there's something wrong with me.

 

He asked "What are you doing?"

 

I tried to act casual and simply said "Forums."

 

He believed me and got what he wanted and walked away. I was a member at some other forum which wasn't pony-related at all.

 

 

I think he saw my page, though... Not that he was acting suspicious, but that I barely had any time left.

I have a secure place to view my pony stuff.  However, I have had some somewhat close calls when people walk in on me, but thankfully, I have Alt-Tab to switch to another window.

When I was watching a pony video, my mom randomly popped out of nowhere and saw it.

Since she only saw a glimpse of it, I convinced her it was dogs instead of ponies...

I'm good at concealing things, however, what you do is if you want to watch MLP, wait to put it on youtube.  If you want to access these forums, or any other site that involves MLP, use a laptop.  Also, avoid posting anything as well as stating that you are a brony on any social network.

The closest call I ever had was that I was watching an episode and completely forgot about the theme song. Next thing I know, the MLP theme song was blasting from my room. I don't think anybody heard it but i'm not 100% sure.

Guess I'll never know what that's like. I don't hide much about me lol. Hell, I have MLP dog tags hanging above my PC, and MLP cycling wall papers in with the rest of my wallpapers, and the stickers from the dog tag packs on my PC and my sketch book.

hahahaaa, my parents are pretty accepting of MLP with me. except that time I bough my build a bear Flutty plushie, she didn't like that I would buy her, but she accepted it, and made me hid her from my dad. Another case was a my University, I was browsing many tabs, including some of this forums, than suddenly, my brother and a classmate came by surprise. I was nervous, and I though 'he caught me' (since my bro knows I'm a brony, so I was just worried about my classmate)...... until my bro told me my classmate just told him he's also a brony

I once had my home computer completely freeze on Equestria Daily and another time, by my own stupidity, I left MLP Forums up while my mother was in the room, but she never cared to look at the screen.

The locked screens are the worst. Thats why I had to pull the plug out before it was too late.

I was in pretty much every situation the OP was, except I didn't pull the plug, I just held the power button. That works most of the time.

I used to be a "closet brony," but then I just figured that I would admit to being a brony if someone asked. Of course, that's not usually the first question that someone will ask so there have been few problems.

As some of you may know I am a closet brony and go to great lengths to prevent being found out. One of those things include avoid visiting any MLP based site such as this when I am using a computer surrounded by people or when I am at college browsing the web.

 

Usually to avoid this is go to the school lounge with nobody around to be able to view my phone from a certain distance, and I come on site like these. But sometimes the phone sucks and replying to threads can be a hassle.

 

Well today I got a chance to visit MLP forums at school during my breaks as the computer labs was empty with only me in it. There was a thread I had to read and reply to and as I am about to reply after I logged in, a couple of guys walk in.

 

My schools has a crappy network and sometimes it freezes up when I try to exit apllications. As they are getting closer to my computer I was like in some movie or something as it was a race against time I tried exiting my browser and clearing my history but the computer locked up with MLP forums in full screen. I am not kidding when I told you this but my heart started pounding and I started to sweat. I had to to go with an emergency unplug the computer from the wall socket which was easy enough as it was next to me.

 

Luckily nobody noticed, but it was an extreme close call and I think I may just stick to using my cell phone even though the screen sucks to type on. Just when I thought I was in the clear, I was not.

 

 

Any other closet bronies have close calls? If so please share your story.

I didn't stay hidden for long when I did hide it., decked out my Ps3 with nothing but MLP accounts, wallpapers and avatars.

 

Friends came over unknowingly wanted to play Ps3 and bam they know I was a brony though they didn't care as I said before they each have their own fandoms I could easily mock them back for.

 

Now a close call I had again before I became public would be my brother wanting to play my ps3 still decked out mind you and I tell him he can't before he flicks it on., because the machine had a broken micro power cell malfunction.

 

Yeah he bought that if all else fails always try putting a lot of smart sounding words together to buy you time.

now that i think of it that wasn't a close call i got busted but I made up a story out of fear for what could happened if the truth got out (i was new in town by that time)

so I am a bit ashamed about what happened that day that i had to lie about something that makes me want to wait for the weekend to end and makes me so happy on the inside 

 

I personly think being open with it is the way to go but if anyone want to keep it a secret I wont tell you that its wrong
