Well there would've been a difficulty levels in this game because I'm just a casual player. I wanted to try the game out, but only if there was a training session or option to use.

I agree. I am not a hardcore player, but I really like video games, but if one is too hard, I usually just give up on it. But, I try as hard as I can, and if I can't beat it, I just move on to something else.

Dont want to be a jerk here but its pretty easy, I got my AJ basic combo going on now and landing in constantly after an overhead C hop. Remember you guys need to tech if you are getting comboed, I hope i can face the forum but i have to work on making that run

To the people who did this, you have my deepest and sincerest thanks. I'm not gonna lie, I nearly turned on the joyous waterworks when I saw this. That don't happen everyday. 

 

I've had this version for about a day now, and this game seems really good so far. My only real complaints are the A.I. difficulty and the confusing controls. I'd say, if there are going to be updates made, introducing both smarter and dumber A.I.s would be vastly appreciated. As of right now, I can't even take out a tenth of a bot's health.

 

As for the controls, I realize it's a fighting game, so the controls have to be a bit complex. But, a clearer button-mapping system would be very nice. As in, it tells you specifically that J= light punch or something. I'm having to use a controller right now, and I still don't get it...

 

Overall, bravo guys! If you decide to continue work on this, I hope you'll keep the general complaints in mind. And do something good with the silhouettes, of course.

It's more like first playing Super Smash brothers with the AIs all being on the hardest difficulty. It's like there's supposed to be difficulty settings but they aren't there. When I play games like this, I like to start off on the easiest difficulty to get the controls and mechanics down before I start challenging myself.

Doubt it since they had no hand in it and these people worked completely on their own with leaked content(and stayed low profile).

Their's is no longer Fighting is Magic. Lauren is helping them re-tool it into a completely original game with original settings and characters. It will no longer be MLP related. I personally will keep an eye out because a fighting game with feral-style furries sounds interesting.  

 

That means this is the only FiM we're going to get(and as close to a completed version as we'll ever have).

The AI does need some difficulty levels added in, Fluttershy and RD's animations need smoothed out, and I feel story mode needs tweaked so you don't fight yourself first off (or at all IMO) no matter who you pick. A dedicated training mode would also be nice, but for now all you have to do is turn the setting on in the pause menu to make health regen. Then either fight the AI in story mode or fight a dummy in versus.

 

I play using my 360 controller, and by far RD is the easiest to beat story mode with IMO. Kind of sucks for me since I don't really like RD, would much rather play as best pony AJ, but then you face her first and the AI can be brutal with her.

 

I just hope updates keep coming. That image of Trixie is killing me since I can't select her. I'll let all other complaints slide as soon as I can play as the greatest pony.

I would love to know how you setted up your controller successfully with your game. Just as i want to know the setup for my ps3 controller.

Could you help me do that so i can help out the others?

All I did was go into the Options at the top of the window and set the buttons for the Joystick. It doesn't detect the triggers on my controller, but everything else seems to register. I didn't need any special programs or anything to make it work, or to map the buttons or anything. Can't say if that will hold true for the PS3 controller or not since it's wireless, but I'd imagine if it works in other games like Skullgirls, I see no reason it shouldn't work here. I could always mess around with my PS3 controller if you can't figure it out and see what I come up with.

 

Oh, and when it says "start" within the game, it really seems to want your "A" button and whatever you have set as "pause" works like a back button most the time.

Well It seems that I'm having problem with inputting my controls for the game because I'm using a PS2 controller via USB controller device. My xbox360 controller isn't working well and I do have some arcade sticks that my brother(s) uses for their fighting games. I normally play with a controller instead of those arcade sticks that my brothers use.
