Would you erase your life and move to Equestria?

Equestria would be nice, but the price of entry seems rather horrifying.

 

I don't necessarily have the most awesome life, but to have everything I've done and everything I've been totally undone? It seems existentially terrifying.

 

It depends if I'm able to keep my philosophy and thoughts over to Equestria.

If I was moved to Equestria erasing everything left behind, nothing much would actually vanish. I'm not a material creator of any kind.

I do however have a lot of thoughts and reasoning I've spend my life figuring out. If this disappears as well, then it's terrifying.

 

Despite all this Equestria is as far as we have seen, far superior to the human world. I don't think I have seen a sad pony. But I know a lot of sad humans.

The fact that Pinkie Pie is friends with everyone in Ponyville shows how open everyone is, and tolerant to different believes.

 

I would absolutely chose to go if I became a pegasus. If I became an earth pony or unicorn, i'm a bit more on the fence though. But seeing how Equestria works, with cutie marks and such, I guess I would become a pegasus. Since flying would be a passion of mine

Probably not. My life has its up and downs, like everyone else's, but I'm fairly sure the amount of love and kindness would eventually get on my nerves. Plus, I like being around my friends and family; I'm quite content with my life currently, especially since Equestria doesn't have high advancements of technology like the internet and such. Being able to walk out and talk to a stranger without worry sounds nice, but I'd prefer not overall living in Equestria.

If a portal to Equestria opened in front of me, I would most likely walk past it. It's to peaceful and easy going for my taste. With all the frustrating thing there are in life you kinda need that. To live in a world where everything goes your way is just not me. Besides, I could not give up eating hamburgers, chicken, gaming, my friends and family, and watching anime. And I don't think I would enjoy living as a pony or a human in Equestria.

 

Now if a gate way to MAR opened up or some anime world opened up, well that's a different story.

I can trade in my current life, where I have an awesome girlfriend, awesome parents, awesome friends, electricity, internet, meat, sports, and video games, for a life in a place that gets attacked constantly by Discord, Ursa Minors, Dragons, and other super OP baddies, and live in a fairly perfect world besides that?

I saw the name of this thread and I've been giving some thought about. After a while, this was my final answer

Seriously, I would NOT want to abandon my real life. Yes, a life in Equestria would be nice, but only if I could alternate between my life in Equestria and my life in the real world. On top of that, Equestria seems to be frozen in the Middle Ages, BECAUSE THERE'S NO GODDAMN TECHNOLOGY! Also, hooves. That would be a real bitch to deal with. I wouldn't be able to use a keyboard, or a phone, or ANYTHING that requires fingers!

 

Another reason. My life right now is actually pretty good (minus school). The question of this thread is "Do I wanna erase my life and move to Equestria?". Let me see. All the good movies I've seen, all the video games I had fun with, all my accomplishments, all the people (good people, that is) I've met, all the places I've been to, erased from my memory for eternity? HELL NO!

I'd like to make an addendum to this.  Fictional worlds tend to seem more glamorous for a few reasons, and I think people are forgetting the reasons.

 

1.  Fictional worlds often contain quite a bit of danger.  It's easy feel somewhat distant from that danger when you're not there, experiencing it firsthand.

 

2.  Fictional worlds tend to gloss over things that are mundane and boring.  Fictional worlds need to tell stories, so they'll often skip large amounts of time to get to the relevant parts of a plot.  If you were there, you'd have to experience any tedium that took place in real time.  If you're trying to escape boredom by living in another world, I have bad news for you.

I had a big, serious, philosophical response planned but then I realized, this is just a bunch of people on the internet having fun. Don't take it too seriously. 

 

It would be wonderful to visit Equestria or any number of fictional worlds. It's mainly that part about "erasing" my life here that I don't like. I think that would be irresponsible, even cowardly.

 

Look at this way: what if our world is meant to be like Equestria or any other fictional place you've loved, but we're just in the part of the story where Discord rules, where Darth Vader haunts the galaxy, where Voldemort lies in wait? That, I know, is the right way to look at life.

I planned on saying no, and that's because to erase my life here would mean losing my friends and the ways of life that are in the human world but not Equestria. Then I realized: Technically, my friends parallel selves would be in pony form in Equestria regardless. Although that's using Equestria Girls theory which apparently doesn't exist in FIM, so, I guess that wouldn't work. But with the thought of being a pony myself...that would be so cool!

 

So how would I live...because yes I'd go! Well I'd probably be a Pegasus, live somewhere on land in a beautiful setting, actually get to discover what my cutie mark really is, befriend many of the ponies there including the mane six if possible, and then...I don't know exactly. What's fun to consider about Equestria is the idea that anything can happen there, so I'd be in for a surprise on what happens in my life. Most certainly it wouldn't go as planned. Oh yeah. And that beautiful area I'd live in would be on a hill overlooking Ponyville just nearby. Or in any case, I'd simply live right in Ponyville or maybe Manehattan or the Crystal Empire. I'm not entirely sure there.

It's not like I have much of a reason to live in the real world. I'm a huge overachiever (God knows why I prefer Dash because I relate to Twilight better), but it's usually overlooked in favor of the apparent fact that my straight face says "I'm gonna rape you" (I've seriously been reported to the school staff in the past because I said hi to somebody). Basically, my life kinda sucks and I'd do anything to hit the reset button. I have no friends that I would be giving up, so I see no reason not to go.

 

How would I live? I'd start by befriending Twilight, then lead a coup to instate her as general secretary of a communist regime. Should that fail, the same scenario would repeat with Luna. This pleases me, because both ponies are awesome, and the subjects of Pony Thread Simulator, for obvious reasons.

 

TL;DR: I'd take this offer without a second thought. I can only say that the situation would be much more satisfying if I could remember the craphole of a world I'd left behind.

I'd have to say yes. I mean, sure, I have a life here...job, friends, family, but I don't really HAVE A LIFE. I barely scrape by and I'm always trying to do what I can to claw myself out of where I am but it never seems to be enough. I understand I'm better off than a lot of people and I'm thankful for that, but to me, surviving isn't living. I'd take my chances with a fresh start. I've always been a bit unattached to everything anyways

   Yes, I would love to start again in a new land, and if I had to be a pony better still. People have and done this before, taking great strides to journey to new soil to begin anew, the French Foreign Legion for example are typically formed by people trying to start a new life, and the founding of new countries like America or Canada, by adventurous humans looking to build a new life and a new home. I would take comfort to be in Equestria, even if I had to be a pony, I wouldn't mind being a pegasus pony, yet if I had to be an earth pony or unicorn that is perfectly fine too, it would be exquisite to live under Celestia's sun and Luna's moon, maybe even get a chance to meet Rainbow Dash, for all intensive purposes, I would adapt to Equestria and learn everything I have to in order to live, and to make pony friends, so if I had an opportunity to move to Equestria, I wouldn't miss it for the world, and anyone who wants to come along is welcome to join me.
