I was just thinking about him today, weird. I'm not a wrestling fan, but I loved his crazy stream-of-consciousness rants about "Hokogan". He was like the James Joyce of pre-fight interviews.

How very, very sad. Huge inspiration for me. I will never forget him, he's up there now with Big Bossman, Randy Savage, Mr Perfect and Andre, among others. He will always be remembered, and he will always be a legend. Rest in piece, Ultimate Warrior.

I was shocked when I first heard the news.  Just on the heels of a Hall of Fame induction and an appearance on Raw no less.  It's hard to believe another legend from my teenage years has passed.    He sucked technically but got over convincingly enough as a high powered machine who simply steamrolled opponents.  It would've helped stifle his critics if he varied his finishing sequences once in awhile.  But to be fair, Hogan and other wrestlers at the time did the same thing. 

 

Does anybody remember the old rumors, from around 1990, that the Ultimate Warrior died and he was replaced by a stand in, usually said to be Kerry Von Erich?  The Warrior went through a number of hair color and style changes and his physique changed rather suddenly depending on his PED use at the time. 

 

Ironically, almost a quarter century after they first surfaced, the rumors are true.  :/
