What are your favorite album(s) that are considered "classic"?

for me it's Odessey and Oracle, I've never heard anyone say anything bad about this album, It's just pure beauty from start to finish, The second you hear the first few notes from the opening track you're hooked. :)

The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. This was an album I've listened to since my family first got it back when I was, like, five or so. I can sing at least half the songs in this album from heart. This is the album that essentially defined neo-soul as a musical movement, that shaped the nature of the production and composition of RnB in the coming decade of the new millenium, which is essentially the decade where RnB and Hip-Hop shined the strongest. I think it's easier to count the number of major pop artists who weren't inspired by the ex-Fugees member's debut (and essentially only) album. So both personally and for music as a whole, this album is unquestionably a classic.

"Songs about Jane" Maroon 5

This was perhaps their greatest album during their peak time. It wasn't until "laptop guys" (people who compose music by mixing mp3 files together and have no music experience) got a hold of them, which caused their great pianist to leave.

I liked that album, especially the song "That Thing", a very classic song (despite it's heavily sexual and explicit lyrics.)

The funny thing about "Doo Wop" (official name of the song) is that it's still far less explicit than songs nowadays despite being one of the main songs that, production wise, would inspire the future waves of rap and hip-hop. That said I'm cool with the lyricism and lack thereof nowadays.

Oh wow, so many xDD

The Beatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, the White Album.

Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon.

And this one, I hope y'all recognize it:

LedZeppelinIV.jpg

It's the most amazing album I ever listened to, a perfect balance of mellow and hard rock and it includes one of the best songs in Rock and Roll history~

I think it was a Pro-Ject turntable.

That's not the awesome part though, The awesome part is it's the scarce solid blue triangle first pressing, Which costs a couple of hundred for a good copy.

Led Zeppelin are a great band, You should check out "Lord Sutch and Heavy Friends" if you haven't already, It's a supergroup with Led Zeppelin members and other famous artists like Jeff Beck and Nicky Hopkins.

I haven't listened to any Led Zeppelin in a while actually. I found out all of their albums are being re-released deluxe editions (for both CD and vinyl). SO MUCH WANT.

I already have Led Zeppelin 2, 4, In Through the Out Door, Best of, Physical Graffiti and the Live in Madison Square Garden CDs, I can't get Vinyls, which is a shame, but I'm getting all the other CDs! x)

I was in a record store on record store day a few years back and a conversation about Led Zeppelin came up, Did you know to promote the release of their albums all the record stores had inflatable Zeppelins outside? I found that pretty cool.

I've always loved Smashing Pumpkins. Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness happens to be my favorite album of all time :)

I have it on vinyl so this is the artwork I have on the 5 pound box :muffins:

Also, let's not forget The Wall. That one's a true classic.

I also have all three albums by the Jimi Hendrix Experience on vinyl.

I have a question, Do yours look the same as mine? Mine are from England but I understand they have different sleeve art depending on which part of the world you live. Also I did hand made censoring on the photos. xD

Is it possible you could post a comparison image if they have different art? :) Many thanks. :D

Mine are all US reissues (Are You Experienced and Axis: Bold As Love are actually in mono). And the artwork isn't the only thing that's different. There's some songs on.the US version of Are You Experienced that aren't on the UK version. Awesome collection btw :)

Thanks. :) I know, I actually have a funny story, where I live there's a small music venue and the guy got a phonecall in the 60's asking if he wants "some Jimi hendrix guy" to play at his venue, He said he'd never heard of him and a week later he appeared on Top Of The Pops and rose to fame, The guy really regretted it. :P
