movies/tv Does anyone remember Digimon?

I do:

I remember back when my Nana lived in Essex, we spent about three days at her house and everyday me and my Nana would sit down and Digimon would come on and we’d watch it.

I also recall it being the new thing when I was at Primary school, and recall my friend telling me like it was a big secret that she and another friend liked it.

Watched the TV show, didn't really like the one game I played. I'm still into the series, although as it is hard to get ahold of new content here in the US... I just more pay attention to fan things like fake Digimon and OCs and occasionally look at art of it.

Still prefer Pokemon due to it making more sense and being better organized, but the series themselves had better and deeper plotlines. Particularly enjoyed Season 3, which had Renamon and Guilmon whose designs are awesome. And the story made me think of some sort of JRPG, which is a huge plus.

I basically just like anything that is related to monsters though (with awesome designs), so of course I'll like Digimon too.

Aether Velvet is the name of the OC in my avatar. Drawn by me.

Of course I remember Digimon. However, my favorite season was Digimon Frontier. It has the best music and an EPIC story.

Frontier lovers unite!

On the note of the story: I liked the Frontier story better typically because they didn't follow specific elements or personality traits like the previous ones did, as someone earlier in the topic mentioned. At first it was a cool idea but at times it had a tendency to force characters into specific character archetypes because of their element. Frontier managed to stay away from that on some level by not giving them specific elements.

I've never believed companionship was required to make a story good. The digidestined didn't require a Digimon by their side to have that companionship either. They had ups and downs but ultimately formed a strong bond with the rest of the team by the end and they still found other Digimon friends throughout the world. I rather liked the idea of them having control over the fights instead of just standing back and watching like the original digidestined. This is just me personally but I was never a fan of the "heroes" who didn't actually do anything and were little more than an anchor for the abilities of the true heroes. That sort of character annoys me unless they have something interesting going on besides their fighting ability. In most cases this is not true.

Imagine if Team Rocket had to face Seraphimon, Ophanimon, and Cherubimon. They would shit bricks

I haven't watched it in a while.  Looking back at S1, it was just as cheesy as pokemon, but I enjoyed it as a kid.  S2 was pretty good, but I haven't seen it since I was maybe 6?

S3 is pretty much the pinnacle of Digimon, and the more promonant fond memories I have of the series.  I even go back every so often to rewatch bits of it today.

S4/Frontier was kind of a joke when I saw it.  But if anything, it aided (or the OP) in one of the most memorable YTPs around.

I don't know a thing about the next seasons or current seasons, I lost interest in them after Frontier.  Apparently they recently did a fanservice episode where they showcased a few previous MCs to team up, like Tai and Takato.  I keep on planning to watch it sometime, but I keep forgetting.

I only liked Tamers.

I liked it quite a bit.

In a different forum I frequent, there's a member who roleplays as a promiscuous Renamon.

There's a saying: "There will always be sexual tension between you and Renanon. Just go with it."

Meh. I thought it was a knock off of Pokemon, with "digital" virtual monsters. I guess it's like beyblade and Pokemon mixed. I never got into them.
