movies/tv Favourite Hayao Miyazaki movie/s?

So recently i've watched some of Hayao Miyazakis movies, specifically Spirited Away and Tales From Earthsea(though, it's not really "his movie") But nevertheless! I have seen more of his movies like: Naussicaä of the valley of the wind, Ponyo, The secret world of Arrietty and Howl's moving castle.

And now i'm wondering what YOUR favourite Hayao movie/s are and why. So, i'll start!

My Favourite is Spirited Away, Not only does it have sentimental value to me, but it's genuentlly amazing!

I like pretty much everything about this, i can't really think of any scene i dislike. The animation and look is super, the setting is really intresting and takes something seemingly normal and puts a twist on it, the characters feel unique, and the music is kinda awesome, atleast one piece: Always with me, i even have a cover on it on my Spotify.

Probably Ponyo. It's simply adorable, and an all-round feel good movie. There is a bad event to compel the story along, but it isn't anything catastrophic, so you're able to just enjoy the colourful movie for what it is. Seems that's a trait in My Neighbour Totoro, too.

Hayao Miyazaki is an amazing creator, and his movies are well worth the watch, regardless of who you are.

Oh man. You just stepped into some serious territory. I can't just simply pick a favorite, because EVERY Miyazaki movie is stellar.

But if I had to choose, then it'd be Princess Mononoke.

Animation, unparalleled storytelling, a character with love, fear, kindness, rage, and eerily human, and the futility of war coupled with an environmentalist message makes it an all time favorite in terms of animations. I can't think of anything I dislike.

Spirited Away is a close second though. Props for that for the reasons you like it.

He only wrote the Screenplay for this one but mine would be "Whisper of the Heart".

Great coming of age type story and I love the how the main character learns about working towards our respective calling in life ( to put it one way ).

I know there's a place you walked
Where love falls from the trees
My heart is like a broken cup
I only feel right on my knees.
I spit out like a sewer hole
Yet still receive your kiss
How can I measure up to anyone now
After such a love as this?

Spirited away. I've seen this movie so many times. I've loved this movie ever since I was a little kid.

I'll have to watch it again tonight. It's been too long since the last time I watched it. It's been at least a year.

I have been a Hayao Miyazaki fan for years now, so I have come to like many of his films, my favourite is "Castle in the Sky", I love the animation and design of the floating city of Laputa, then there is Pazu and Sheeta, who are great characters, plus a good villain with Colonel Muska, too me this film has an amazing tone and atmosphere, the other film I admire is Princess Mononoke, this was one of the first Miyazaki films I ever saw, and I like the female protagonist San, she had grace and vigour, so she was a good match for Ashitaka, but moreover, I loved the mystical setting the film had, yet it had a realistic base as well, also I like "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind" and "Spirited Away", I own virtually every Studio Ghibli film on DVD, and I will continue to enjoy them.

No, but seriously he's my favorite director and movie maker and my favorites(I can't decide on 1) are Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky and Princess Mononoke.  :)

I'm sure I don't have to say how amazing all of the movies are so it's hard to pick a favorite. The ones I enjoyed most are easily Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke and The Cat Returns though. There's still plenty I need to see still and many I have to rewatch. I haven't seen Kiki's Delivery Service in well over fifteen years and I only ever saw Spirited Away once. Didn't think much of Spirited Away though.
