Day 2 Part 1: PONI Spear Base

 

May 4^th, 2552 Eponsz Ice Shelf, Reach

 

 

 

A Pegasus Chopper flies overhead of multiple Para-Elites attacking Spear Base. “Pilot! Land us in the courtyard!” Mane One shouts over the roar of the chopper. “Copy.” The pilot chirps. “Team! The Discord are assaulting Spear Base, with Dr. Derpy inside. Our job is to drive those beaches out!” Dash briefs them. Spark looks out over the combat. “Sir, Discord are blocking our DZ!” Jack alerts Dash. “Copy that!” Dash replies. She nods to Sparkplug who was on the Machine Gun. “On it.” Mane Six “Sparkplug” Calls back. She fires done on the enemies and kills them all. “Targets down.” The Pilot confirms, and lands the chopper.

Mane team spreads out across the courtyard and fires. Jack fires a few Shotgun rounds on an Elite, and Spark finishes it off. It groans as it falls. The team works together to clear the courtyard, and the Marines cowering come out from cover. “Thanks Spartans.” One says. “Yeah, we really owe you one.” Another adds. “Just doing our job.” Dash says trying not to sound like a show-off. The Marines trot off towards the entrance. “Well team. We might as well give them a hoof.” Dash suggests. “Follow them, Mane. We’re going to push the Discord out of Spear Base.”

They push through the base, and soon reach another blast door. "Mane Team, we need to get to the outpost! Six! Grab that Target Locater! We may need it!" Dash orders Sparkplug. She picks up the pistol-like item, and trots after the Marines and Mane outside and into combat. Two Chaos tanks block their way to the exterior outpost. "Six! Use that target locater and destroy those tanks!" Pinkie shouts at Sparkplug. She aims to machine at the tanks and presses a button. "Copy, target located, on standby." An operator replies through a communication system. The mares pull back to a safe distance and watch as Longspear fighter-bombers annihilate the Chaos tanks. "Nice one, Six!" Dash compliments Sparkplug. She smiles under her purple helmet, then wipes it off and follows her squad towards the outpost.

"Pinkie, go with Six and activate that comm relay, go!" Dash barks at them. "Tumbler en route for drop off, thought you could use some help, Mane." An operator says. A Hurricane drop ship deploys a Tumbler jeep and the two MARES, Pinkie and Sparkplug, climb into it. Pinkie as gunner and Spark as driver. Another Marine as passenger. Mane Six starts up the Tumbler and it pulls away. Pinkie uses the gun on the jeep to blast at the oncoming Discord. They pull over at a small building with a radar on it. The COM station. Sparkplug gets out, and runs for the terminal to activate the array. She taps the screen with a hoof and the COM activate. "C'mon, Six. Let's rendezvous with the rest of the team. The AA guns will support us soon." Pinkie reminds Sparkplug.

 

Day 2 Part 2: Dr. Derpy

May 4th, 2552 Eposnz Ice Shelf, Reach

 

The two MARES drive the Tumbler back to Spear Base where the rest of Mane Team is waiting for them. "Alright, command needs to destroy a Discord corvette that's giving us trouble over the planet." Dash explains. "Jack, Six, get up to the atrium and get rid of those Griffons!" She continues. "Yes ma'am." Sparkplug replies with a quick salute.

Jack and Six fight their way up to the atrium, where there are two rocket launchers dropped by some Marines, along with a large breach in the wall. The two wipe out all the Discord on that floor with ease, except for a single Para-elite, who wouldn't give up. "Quick! Pick up that rocket launcher and lock onto that Luna!" Jack orders Sparkplug. The two picks up the rocket launchers and lock onto; and destroy; multiple Lunas and Griffons. "Longspears en route, locking onto Corvette, MAC round ready to fire." A pilot says through a COM. "MAC round at 25%" An operator says. "50%... 75%...MAC rounds at 100%! Ready to fire!" The UNPC ship fires a MAC round at the Discord corvette, engulfing it with red-hot flames, and then annihilating it, as it bursts.

Mane Team watches as the ship splits apart, and then crashes. "Good job, rookie." Shy says to Sparkplug. She nods and the two look out the breach, at the flames in the distance.

Doctor Derpy calls the team down to her cell where she is. "Doctor, we found this data module." Dash says, setting the module in the drawer and pushes it into Derpy's cell. She examines it. After Dash and Derpy stop exchanging barbs, the team leaves the Doctor alone, while she examines the module.

 

***NOTE***

The module was not mentioned in the previous chapters, I'm just trying to follow Reach's storyline as best I can.
