It's in that pose he makes when he's about to blast someone (e.g., http://img03.deviantart.net/9694/i/2014/213/0/8/dbz__mlp_goku_vs_tirek_by_shadowhedgehog2-d7t9xqn.png), and the aura between his horns is even represented by an orange LED.

Both portrayals strike me as pretty legit, and neither side is made to look like a b***h compared to the other guy.

I love this idea. I loved Tirek's G1 appearance as a kid and was super excited when he appeared in G4. There had never been a G1 figure made of him so there was hope. Though tbh I prefer G1 Tirek's appearance, as he looks more sinister, and he threatens to behead someone. Also, he commanded a legion of dragons. I loved dragons and ponies as a kid.

Screenshot of G1 Tirek under spoiler. I'd love to see a remaster of Rescue at Midnight Castle.  Look at those fingers, those spikes, the fur detail.  He feels less cartoony. G4 Tirek is like the Teen Titans GO version in comparison, in regards to animation.

You know what would be awesome? Tirek and Twilight's fight scene, reanimated in a more realistic style.

I love how out of place Tirek looks next to all the other characters in the series, even back in gen 1 when he was Tirac. The contrast is absolutely hilarious. Here's this massive scary centaur guy alongside all the cute ponies. I forget which comic it was that we saw him as like a teenager, but he doesn't look any less out of place there either, and I mean that in the best way possible. What a great villain.
