Anti-bronies are strange

You know what's weird about anti-bronies?

The blind stereotype they give us Bronies.

The Brony fandom is made up of ALL SORTS of people.

Some people are the absolute opposite of what anti-bronies stereotype us as.

You know what I saw recently on one of my posts?

A body builder.

Yes.

A Brony body builder who was giving me advice on what diet I should go on to get tone skin.

This just goes to show that hardly any of us follow the stereotype and it shows the bias of anti-bronies.

There's 2 types of people in this world.  Bronies, and antibronies.

Really though, I haven't met anyone else.  lol

That does seem to be the general attitude that bronies have.

You could compare it to a door to another world. Only when you open that door, you understand actually what happens in there.

Like I always say, I thought bronyism was just a meme. The lights didn't come on until I watched the show.

Sig made by Kyoshi.

Cool things people have said about me:

Never heard of him but I guess just you mentioning him is a good reason not to go anywhere near that name.

(In reference to an author I suggested.)

The Brony community isn't completely unique. It's just another fandom and it isn't an exception to the rule that fans of other media may dislike it because of silly reasons. Like there are antagonistic feelings between fans of two different science fiction shows or between fans of different video game consoles, it happens to MLP fans as well as compared to other television shows.

1) Find a good Brony song that isn't obviously about MLP

2) Have a hater listen to it

3) Ask him what he thinks of it

4) If he says he likes it, tell him it's a Brony song

5) ?????

6) Profit

All fandoms have a terrible stereotype associated with them.

Otakus are obsessive and talk in high nasally voices and constantly talk about waifus...

Sonic fans are weirdo furries and are super autistic...

Bronies are all effeminate autists who wear fedoras and are super sweaty and overweight...

The list goes on and on. It's just perpetrated by people who need an easy laugh and have found easy and willing victims.

The best way to ward off an anti-Brony or an anti-anything is to simply laugh it off.

Some people will think whatever they want to regardless of evidence to the contrary, I am probably one of the last people I ever expected to be into cartoon ponies but now that I am there are very few people I can honestly say I am surprised when they fess up to liking ponies.

For the most part yes but the only major difference is that people don't usually criticize all fans of most fandoms of being overgrown manchildren who want to have sex with children and animals. How many people have you heard actually accuse all Star Wars fans of beating off to Jawa's and Hutts?

Yep, anti-bronies: ignorant and narrow-minded, since the first brony.

What Thunder-Dash said.   It a shame that anti-bronies (Brony Heretics) act like that towards Bronies.

A little overboard but who "was" the first brony?

I think that it's actually true that some bronies if not more than 50% start out from being anti-bronies that's how I got into it at first watching YTP's and making fun of it and then I trolled the brony facebook page just because I wanted to bring up an argument. Here's an example: Here's some advice stop wasting all of your time with stupid ponies and oh yeah I killed Pinkie yesterday as for Luna she's in a coma dare to argue me. I don't mean this anymore though so don't report me it's just a little example.

Um, no offense, but you're stereotyping anti-bronies as well. Here you are, labeling all of them as "weird" without considering that perhaps they may be just like us—diverse, different. Some anti-bronies are actually very respectful in giving their opinions. Just an observation—I am not supporting anti-bronies in any way, but I just thought this is a tad hypocritical.

Starswirl the Hecatonchires.

But seriously, that's an interesting question.  There probably wasn't a clear "first."  Probably a lot of guys got into it similtaneously.  But it would be cool if there was some, like, wise sage who was the father of the modern brony.  We could have statues of him at bronycon.  That would be awesome.

Sorry.

Weird was the wrong to use.

*ahem*

Most anti-bronies are bias.

It's the majority of their group.

That's what I meant.

Respectful how exactly? I missed that memo that there are "respectable" ways to say that all bronies are overgrown manchildren pedophiles that want to screw ponies. Unless by "respectful anti bronies" you are referring to people who the show is simple not their cup of tea of course the problem with that is that those people logically can't and shouldn't be called "anti bronies" and I really wish bronies would really stop doing that, seriously guys cut that shit out. The actual anti bronies on the other hand don't need our help to stereotype them as they are already doing a great job of that themselves by defining themselves by their own mostly gender role and sexuality based insecurities which they feel the need to take out on others.

From what I've seen, the bodybuilder brony you refer to only fights one end of the brony stereotype, that bronies are all gay manchildren, this being the bigoted masculinity obsessed anti-brony sector.

On the flipside, there are the 'social justice warriors', who stereotype us as being a group of straight privileged conservative-extremist men who are bigoted and gross and sit around crying about being friendzoned all day.

Looking at it from this end, I'd say my female bisexual liberal brony existence is a far greater slap in the face to such naysayers ;)

This is true. People are always bashing us Trekkies, complaining about how overpoweringly sexy we are, how our raw animal magnetism is so irresistible that they lose out on the prospect of happy relationships because all of the intelligent, beautiful, cultured people are enamored with us.

That...that is what they say, right? Right?

Exactly - it doesn't affect them, and getting upset about an internet post/comment that just so happens to contain reference to ponies is true immaturity: they should just live and let live (Fbook +others have the option to block certain content/users) instead of trying to go keyboard warrior on Twitter. Look at all those hate groups around the world from the past up until now, anything similar?

They just can't keep their hatred to themselves and just have to go out there to harm the world.
