Beards, anyone have one, what do you think of them?

I've never been able to grow a full beard.  If I stop shaving completely, it stops at this disheveled hobo stage.  And I don't think a full beard would suit me anyway.  But I have a goatee, and I love the way that looks.  I didn't start growing any facial hair until after high school.  I was so happy when I did, because I look way better with a little.  I've always looked younger than I really am, and even as an adult at 18 I would be mistaken for much younger.  The facial hair really helps to make me look and feel like an adult, and I never get mistaken for a minor now.

Anway, OP, you definitely look better with the beard, imo.

I can't wait until they go out of fashion again...

That said, a well-groomed and neatly trimmed beard or goatee can look okay on some people. On others, they just look absurd and unkempt.

Not that it affects me in any way, shape or form! I'd be something of a hypocrite telling men to shave off their beards when I absolutely refuse to grow my hair long. You can do whatever you like with your facial hair, if you like the look then other people's opinions are moot. (And OP, your beard suits your face really well.)

Well groomed and trimmed beards look great. I'll grow one eventually.

But to be honest, long, scruffy beards look ridiculous and make you look like a bum. Sorry, but unless you're Santa Claus, trim the beard or just shave it all off  :P

Its funny, I had the opposite problem in High School. I had a goatee for most of HS and I started losing my hair at age 16, So I have always looked older then I was.

Groomed and trimmed beards are awesome. Stubble is awesome. Unkept and unruly beards or just mustaches are… well… not as awesome. For me, anyway.

My husband has quite a beard on him. He has no moustache or tie in (like on that Duck Dynasty show).

Around here there is a lot of Amish, and whenever they see him, they have to give him a second look because he could fit right in with them.

I hate moustaches...not that don't or can't look nice and all, but to me it's all about practicality. With my husband, being a welder for his day job, a beard not only looks stylish, but also protects him from welding spatter and arc burns. B)

A moustache...well, it's like kissing a cactus depending on its length, and that's assuming you can find his mouth at all..

Personally, unless you can rock an Operator beard, I wouldn't even grow one.

Hows this for an Operator beard? not as long, but I don't like the way it feels if it is any longer then what it is here.

When I was dating my wife, I grew a beard on a lark. She kept her thoughts to herself for two months, but the dam finally burst: She hates it! So I shaved it off.

I think I looked pretty good. What happened here was the, "relationship tax." Sometimes the relationship is more important that your personal likes, and you need to sacrifice something you want. In the end, love makes it all worthwhile.

We are newlyweds, married in January. Cuddling at night is still important. So I shave 7 days a week. Sometimes I sneak a quick shave in the evening as well (ya never know when romance will strike). I use a razor as its a closer, smoother shave.

Eww lancer tactical FAL. The motor mounts on that thing is gunna crack within 4 months.

As for the beard, it is looking alright, just needs to be a bit more "rugged"

The FAL is made by ASG, its a DSA OSW all metal replica. I only got it to shoot cans in my backyard because I cant shoot my real 308 rifles in my yard (I don't like posting photos of my real guns because you never know who is looking). I just expect any airsoft gun to brake at some point. they all seem to have a max number of bb it can shoot set in them form the factory

Most of my airshit guns (I run them for Milsim) last upwards of 40k bbs before the piston strips or the motor cage goes wonky.

And Ewww, ASG. lol cyma rebrands.

I grew out my beard a few years ago after dropping out from journalism. Since I was out of school and movember showed up, I thought "what the heck?" and grew it out since nobody really saw the transition/growing/ugly phase.

The best way to describe it is to refer to Obi-Wan's beard from the star wars prequels in both styling and hair colour. I do my best to keep it modestly trim. It has an acceptable length, but I don't want it to go completely out of control. I don't intend to grow a Gandalf until I retire! :P

Here is a video form a few years ago of me with no beard with my M14, AR-15 an MG-34. you want to talk about guns that don't brake, I have put over 2000 rounds down my M14 and the MG-34 made it through a world war and + 60 year of use before TRW made it into a semi auto only one.

I have a mustache, but I keep my beard shaved and low. I think they look nice, as long as the person maintains it correctly.

I have a goatee! It's getting long and covers my whole chin it does.

I have grown a full beard twice before though, hasn't ever really worked out well for me in the end. Not my thang.

Don't mind me, i'm just lurking for the pictures.  lol

I've got more pics haha. I've experimented with my beard in recent years. Sadly, I forgot to take pictures of most of the variations! I've done an old Englishman's chops and one that curled around my face (at roommates' request, though I shaved it off immediately after showing them)

Here's my goatee + sideburns

Then one day, I went to my first class with a normal beard, went home, shaved to this just to mess with people in my next class. Went home again and shaved to sideburns, went to another class. Got home and shaved it all off. NOTE: The massive chops in the next pic were hideous, I know, but you should've seen people's reactions! haha

These are the sideburns I've loved the most. I've always been sad I didn't keep them. NOTE: I was walking my sister down the aisle at her wedding in this one, not getting married myself! haha

But the last picture in my first post is what it I've got right now.
