I really don't know why do they decide to make them. I suppose people like freaking out other people. I've only read cupcakes and to be honest it doesnt affect me at all, and it's quite poorly written

Well there are a few fanfics I seen that help. (for cupcakes anyway) (they helped me at least)

One was about cupcakes being a dream and then there was RD and PP friendshipping.

 

Another one was where RD and PP get revenge on the writer.

 

Another one is a parody.

 

The other, RD goes through all the cupcakes universes and kills cupcakes pinkie at the end, then gets back to her universe.

 

Problem is, I can't remember their names. I'll try and look for them.

I only read Cupcakes. I didn't find it disturbing or scary honestly.

 

I didn't even find it to be well-written at all. Pinkie and Rainbow Dash were so out-of-character that it didn't feel like it was about MLP at all. It just felt like some bad attempt at shocking by being excessively gory and violent.

The only one of those I've read is Rainbow Factory and that was just because I love the song. I didn't enjoy it, found it quite horrifying to be honest. I still don't know why I read it all the way through.

 

Some people enjoy reading those. That's fine by me, I don't have to read it.

Rainbow Factory was actually a decent story. Cupcakes was your basic goreporn, it's nothing worse than Human Centipede.
