I wouldn't even say Mac is 'shy' but rather just a 'quiet' person. That is, if their visual character design wasn't appealing as well. You've made a few different yet similar threads, @@ggg-2-- specifically regarding how you'd like to make opinions known and thought about Big Macintosh. Shanks 10,816 June 1, 2014 Share June 1, 2014 Applejack has said that Big Mac is shy but tha dosen't mean that he is as shy as Fluttershy, she has been shown to literally be afraid of her own shadow. Aside from that and being fairly quiet and introverted we don't really have much to go on for Big Mac. I think they probably have a few things in common and as a lot of people suspect might make a good match, but I don't think they are similar enough to say that Big Mac is a male version of Fluttershy though. Which means that he's actually a total opposite of Fluttershy, who can be afraid even of her own shadow and is always nervous about what others might think. Big Mac is the "strong silent" kind who can talk, sing, and exert himself through physical strength when working on the farm even though he is still generally a quiet person. On the other hand, Fluttershy is more talkative, meek, soft-spoken, and afraid of attention. The only things they both have in common is that they are under the general descriptions of being reserved and socially awkward at times. He's more assurtive and will flat out say nope if the situation demands it. Even if its his own sisters in the wrong he'll say it. Mac is just your regular working class silent badass. Big Macintosh is internally stronger and more confident than Fluttershy and takes his work and family very seriously on a personal level. He's very practical, only talking when he needs to. Fluttershy's quietness comes from a lack of internal confidence. Both have kind and level-headed personalities (except when Fluttershy is pushed to rage) and can be like parent figures to others at times.
