What would Twilight's parents say about Celestia's lessons and endangering Twi?

I mean, Celestia hasn't hesitated to throw her student into one dangerous situation after another, for the sake of Twilight's growth and protecting Equestria. But how much- if anything- is Twilight writing home to her parents, Twilight Velvet and Night Light, about? Would they approve of Celestia throwing their precious daughter at every danger that arises, and seeing how things pan out; for not only Twilight, but her friends to potentially get hurt in the process? I mean, any parent would want to keep their kid safe, wouldn't they? Do you guys really think they'd not- at the least- show concern over Twilight fighting spirits of chaos, handling Cerberus, taking on evil dictators like Sombra, fighting with Changelings, being taught dark magic (by Celestia, no less), having her home destroyed (I wish the writers would've used that opportunity for Twi to move back in with her parents, at least for a while), dealing with Nightmare princesses, Hydra, traipsing off into dangerous other worlds, ect.?

How does any parent feel when their offspring have a dangerous job?  Nervous, hoping/praying for their safety, but also very understanding of the responsibility they have... and, also tremendously confident in their ability to handle the situation (a necessity to avoid having a nervous breakdown over all the worry).

I think they were already aware of the dangers she would face by becoming Celestia's student.

I think they are rather proud of her than scared as she has always accomplished Celestia's missions so far.

Plus we never see them taking care of Twilight or worrying about her... :/

I dunno, that sounds pretty messed up to me. She's a protege, she doesn't even work for Celestia.

Could you imagine if your daughter got an internship at the White House, and then the president sent her on a diplomacy mission to Afghanistan?

Bit different than that, though. Celestia hand-picked Twilight out of possibly hundreds of other unicorn students in order to train her specially in different types of magic. Yeah, the other student's at Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns can say they're technically Celestia's "student" (and I'm sure that line works great on fillies in bars), but Twilight's more than just a protege; Celestia saw her talent and decided it was necessary to hone it in a constructive way, especially if Twilight's special gift is her aptitude for magic.

I dunno, I always saw it more like, "Yo, dude, your daughter has super-crazy awesome powers. Let me teach her so she won't blow anything up." It's kind of, I don't know, an apprenticeship? If that makes sense.

Night Light and Velvet Sparkle have to be proud of their daughter but they probably are worried for her safety. I think they know she's talented and powerful though, and they ought to worry much less now that she's a princess and basically co-ruler of Equestria.

Yeah, I'd like to see where in the student application it says that exams will routinely consist of confronting deadly ancient evils...

Hard to say considering how very little we know about them as far characterization goes, but I believe they trust and respect the decisions Celestia has made in educating Twilight/

Well their son is a solider so I'd expect they are worried about both their kids. I have a boy and a girl and I worry about then equally. Just because Twilight is their little filly doesn't make them worry more. Twilight is the chosen one. It's her destiny to become a Alicorn princess and the current protector of Equestria.

I think they're pretty confident that their children can look after themselves. I mean heck they're both top level members of society and among the most important ponies in equestria. I think that's reason enough to know that they're doing well for themselves. Still.. kinda wish we seen more of them.

Well, I would feel for the parents, but at the same time they must know what is going on, and they likely accept it. I mean we saw her folks after both the Changeling invasion and Twilight's coronation, so they must be fine with the tests that Celestia has had for her thus far.

If they have not spoken against it for four seasons and two movies, I don't think they can be that concerned. Especially since their son is part of the Royal Guard.

They must have gone through this before when Shining Armor decided to become a guard, with all the dangerous villains and monsters we have seen in the series there are all sorts of gruesome ways Shining Armor could have met his maker and I am sure his parents were well aware of that. Since Shining Armor said that the outfit he wore to his wedding was "his favorite uncles uniform" I suspect that military service runs in his family so it is likely that his father and maybe even his grandfather may have also served as guards which the family has had to deal with.

When Twilight became Celestia's student her parents probably weren't prepared for Twilight being put in dangerous situations and likely have not known about what dangerous situations Twilight and her friends were often put in until well after the fact but probably have some idea now. They of course probably worry about Twilight like they did with Shining Armor but are also very proud as well. If you think about it they really hit the jackpot as parents with a son as guard captain and later prince and a daughter that became Celestias apprentice and her "ascension".
