  1. Ok just out of curiousity, because this has literally happened to me since grade school, have you ever thought about a scene from an episode of a tv show and then perhaps a few days later it comes on? Lately it's become so odd that anytime I think of a scene from some show I'll try to remember what lead up to said thought. For example last week I was thinking about that scene from family guy (fuck family guy) where Peter joins the shows equivalent of the NRA and their's that kids cartoon scene with a child and a pistol. 2-3 days later that episode comes on and I don't remember having that thought until that scene comes on. If I had to guess I'd say this happens roughly once a month if not more often, Like right now I'm thinking of that episode of Spongebob wear they open the bubble blowing stand, if it comes on soon I'm going to flip out. Tell me I'm not alone, haha.
  2. Greed is always bad within the modern social contract, charitity is usually good but can be bad if it's done merely to make yourself or the company you represent look good. As much as millions of dollars will help it isn't a lot of money to a multi-billionare, that's not to say he or she is not a good person for giving their money but I will look more favorably at more substantial sacrifices considering ones financial situation. And if by charity you also refer to volunter work, I'd say it is always good, or at the least it usually has good intentions, some volunteer work has negative reprocussions such as working for a clothing drive for African communities...While this sounds good on paper, local shops depend on people not giving away the same product for free and basically, businesses cannot thrive, and the African economy cannot thrive if all their needs are met for free.
  3. This sure does get plenty of bitching from the whiny contingent, shipping itself and the fact that most are lesbian shippings, first off it's inevitable and second, no one is forcing you to look at fics/pictures and whatnot, whining about things that don't hurt anything is pointless and just serves as another reason to feel superior to the bronies that interact and contribute to the fandom differently then they do.
  4. I never said my opinion was fact by the way. I didn't know their were anime "genres" to be honest, Someone recommend an anime that isn't utter crap and I'll give it one more chance, also to the person above, I didn't like death note either. Anyway, I don't think evidence is necessary or conceivable to find, I mean bleach and soul eater are basically the same shows, if you don't hear like 15 grunts and 8 long winded dialogue about character A's super ultimate attack then you're not watching a fight scene. The animation is all basically the same, with little more than darker or lighter shading between shows, where the difference between Ed, Edd and Eddy and Jimmy neutron doesn't even need to be expounded on. The facial expression thing is literally the visual equivalent of Verbatim speech, seriously I've seen this everywhere, with little to no variance http://stimulatedboredom.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Teardrop.jpg But hey if it is all just shonen than fine, give me something better.
  5. They replaced the hard drive twice, both cases were no caused by viruses and maintained it as best I could, disk defrags and what not. And I'd rather not pay to repair something that's going to be a brick in a year. but I'll look into a Dell, any specific model you recommend?
  6. Nah, if toshiba gets any shred of praise it's that my laptop never felt hot until I ran 6 programs at once. And if it was something that simple then I'd probably commit seppuku to regain families honor. But Ill take a vacuum cleaner to it just in case, or compressed air I guess.
  7. First off I'd like to state, Cowboy bebop, FLCL, and etc. are Awwwright. Now, before we talk about the most honorable Japanese and their superior culture, I'd like to provide just a tiny bit of dissent...Ok, just kidding, most anime sucks, I don't get it. I mean, literally everyone anime has the same cliches, as in, plot, action scenes, dialogue and hell even the "anime faces"...How many times can you watch a character turn all black and white, or a little tear shape go down the back of someones head? Is the reaction just the standard? "Gee whiz, this will never get repetitive!" like has no one ever said "let's mix it up"? I can literally have a list of every anime ever and 90% of them will feature melodramatic grunting (a la dragonball Z, but it's cool when they do it), long winded monologues about nothing, the faces...Ok again sorry, but the over exaggerated expressions are not funny, and seeing them EVERYWHERE makes it worse, it literally embarrasses me to watch it, like the animators were trying to get this show to appeal to toddlers that laugh when someone sticks their tongue out. I'm not trying to insult you personally if you like anime, I just don't get it...This started when I saw "Soul Eater" for the first time a few hours ago it was like the conglomeration of everything bad in anime...This was the gist of said episode: Super hilarious anime faces #12, 16, 18 and 29, character cliches up the ass, long winded dialogue about nothing, ungodly amounts of cheesy dialogue (zombie teacher making teaching puns), "Ho! He hit him in the solar plexus! SO MUCH HONOR! HE BRING HONOR TO HIS FAMARY!". Like come on, it actually made me angry... So please, someone help, please tell me it's all a massive cultural gap, or some issue with the dialogue transferring well... Also pony song:
  8. If you would like the skip the majority of this rant the main purpose of this thread is to ask for new laptop recommendations or perhaps a suggestion for my computer issue. I'd like to start by saying Toshiba is the worst brand for laptops ever, like if someone were to hand me a free toshiba laptop i'd probably punch them...It was a birthday gift and everything and when it chooses to work it's pretty average as far as computers go...I'm currently on a 4 year old laptop and it works fine, it's my mom's and she uses it most of the day so I either have to use the 10 year old dell desktop and sluggishly crawl through webpages or use this any opportunity I get. Anyway, just recently my Toshiba has been slow, not just the internet, like everything, the task manager wont run, the internet doesn't respond after 5 minutes, the "end now" window never pops up, when i try to shut down the computer or restart it it gets frozen on a screen with my desktop background and I have to manually turn it off... 5 days later, safe mode, full system scan, disk defrag, reboot after reboot, programs uninstalled, system restore...nothing, I know you guys aren't tech support, I'm also pretty sure this isn't a virus...This has happened 3 other times, all with similar symptoms... So, I'm done, I will try my hardest to inform everyone about this, It's almost like they planned this to sync perfectly with my warranty ending, so I'm looking into something new, not a mac, maybe an HP or asus...I'm also poor, so sorry for the long winded rant but yeah that's the gist of this thread... I need recommendations, I don't need a gaming laptop but I want something that can at least play minecraft without crashing (a la Toshiba) and won't screw me over...However if you have any suggestions for fixing my brick of circuits and uselessness it would be greatly appreciated... Laptop price range is at most $1000 Thanks folks...
  9. If I saw someone with crushed ice in their drink I would actually, seriously punch their face...I mean, right? This is America and everything but have some god damn decency.
  10. Support the soldiers, not the war, atrocities you've heard of do not represent the entirety of the US armed forces, generalizing an entire group of people based on the actions of a few are why the other side of your argument demonizes muslims and middle eastern people. Paramedics work for the community and put their lives on the line to save others but often make mistakes, accidental or from negligence. Are all paramedics bad? No...Do most paramedics try their hardest to save lives? Probably Police work for the state and put their lives on the line to protect people from criminals but often make mistakes, accidental or from negligence. Are all police bad? No...Can a decent amount of mistakes be attributed to fear and miscommunication? Probably Soldiers work for the federal government and put their lives on the line to defend the nation from foreign offenders, soldiers also make mistakes, due to negligence or merely for following orders. Are all Soldiers bad? No...Can a decent amount of mistakes be attributed to lack of military intelligence, corruption from superior officers, PTSD and combat stress? Probably You're not wrong for saying soldiers are tools for war, but you can't hold a soldier to the same ethical responsibility as the government giving the orders, sure they are told to question orders but how far can that go? A civilian can die because someone up the chain of command made a mistake. You know how many times a story about a soldier or police officer performing an act of kindness without bloodshed makes the headlines? Rarely Dont be so cynical yo, if anyone is to blame it is the government giving the orders.
  11. It's directly interfering with my obsession to perfect rpg games so it's mega relevant. Who do you play as anyway? I have not met a single person that tries to max out stats as Brick...
  12. Fuck moxxies underdrome crap, the only way you can beat this god awful, overpriced, glorified chore fest, zero reward, poorly planned and executed example of DLC is if you have a friend who is 30 levels above you and you play on your personal saved game. I would rather spend my money on EA's DLC, where you pay to unlock stuff early, at least I'm actually obtaining something for the money I'm putting in, rather than trudging through hours of boring, repetitive nonsense. Oh yeah and you don't get experience, just crappy weapons that you could find in any chest in the game. Sorry, this just makes me incredibly mad, I'd rather grow a hymen and get it broken by a large black guy with elephantiasis then play through just one single arena of this crap by myself...
  13. I am slightly less obsessive with oblivion, I mean, the leveling is the most obsessive part about it for me...But quest wise, item wise, and location wise their isn't a lot to mess up on. This is it pretty much http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Efficient_Leveling And the thing is, in oblivion you can just use a few exploits to level up certain skills super fast without having to do that many quests...In Fallout it's required, which makes it easy to fuck up, in oblivion you can max out your character, max stats, max attributes without doing much, then just save your game and restart from that point if you mess up.
  14. Meh, too much build up for the mediocre 5/10
  15. Oh man, this guy, his voice is amazing and he's hilarious, Check out his other videos too, also be warned it's pretty vulgar, but who cares right? Not me, not this guy.
  16. Whiny Bronies that complain about every aspect of the fandom People on facebook who post pointless "inspirational" pictures ad nauseum Feminists the man hating kind Feminists the "we want equal rights but not the responsibilities" kind People who act like victims when they're obviously not Forum roleplaying, it's creepy Commercials the obviously bullshit spreading kind Commercials the trying way too hard to be trendy kind People who post memes endlessly and think they're funny regardless of context The entire cast of Jersey Shore and all their fans Same for Honey Boo Boo Everything on the TruTV network Southpark after it tried too hard to be topical rather than funny (OMG THEY MENTIONED GUITAR HERO, SOOOO HILARIOUS ALDJBSFISFYVSFKDGSVDHGVSFSVFDHVSA) Family Guy, shoving politics down my throat...Whether I agree with them or not I don't watch a comedy to be preached at, rarely does it make me laugh anyway The following people: Carlos Mencia, George Lopez, Bill Maher, Lisa Lampanelli. People who act melodramatic like they're in a movie or something
  17. If you still need participants I'm available, let me know if you have any room left and I'll PM you my Skype user name, Or send me yours, whichever you prefer.
  18. Does anyone here have a particular game they obsess over, as in to the point where you play it over and over no matter how outdated it becomes, or play it over and over in order to have a "perfect game"... For me, Fallout 3, I've played this game since it came out in 09, I have yet to beat it, I'm obsessed with creating a perfect character, getting all unique items, pretty much a crazy challenge, I have reset my entire game at least 10 times, with 60+ hours invested into those saves merely over small mistakes, such as failing a side quest or having a minor character die when it wasn't necessary to the story. I have a copy of the original prima guide, and recently got the game of the year guide off amazon so I have a guide for the DLC...Every time I play the game over again I assure myself this time It's gonna be perfect and it usually ends bad, so I created spreadsheets and look at the fallout wikis obsessively to ensure I don't make a mistake. It hurts, but I love the game so much, mostly because it's massive in scale, and you can actually have a perfect character, unlike in New vegas...which I doubt ill ever play since I dont see myself finishing Fallout anytime soon. Also, if you're interested, find me a way to send my excel spreadsheets and you can have them, one contains my idea of the idea character, and one is a simple checklist for the games items. Does anyone have a worse obsession? video game wise of course.
  19. I dislike Nascar because it's too simplistic, in fact, I don't watch many sports or enjoy most of them, but Nascar is at the bottom of the list for common sports for me to watch, it's bland, pointless nothing but left turns and pit stops. If I can leave a sports event for 2 hours, come back and miss nothing eventful then It's not for me. I mean, the only exciting thing you have to look forward to is a crash... Seriously, no offense, but sitting out in the hot weather, where it's so loud that you can't hear yourself talk with nothing to watch other than 40 speeding advertisements race around a circle for 4 hours is not for me and I cannot fathom how anyone can enjoy it.
  20. Birdie? Also, here's the number, I called them and got a voicemail, but you guys should give it a shot, let me know if it's something interesting.. 240-397-9368
  21. Ugh, I know the answer is 75, I don't see the point of it, it's just an equation, I so calling this guy. I bet it's some highschool kid who needs help with math haha
  22. Ok, so me and my friend are walking back to his car from a hookah bar and we think we see a ticket on his windshield. I take it off and read it, it's a piece of paper with: 3X52=? To answer, please call (xxx) xxx-xxxx What the hell? I didn't call the number because god knows who's on the other end, but is this some kind of inside joke or something? Are they hiring math tutors? I might call it later, but if anyone is curious I'll PM them the number.
  23. Inspiring, I cried... Be warned, this is the foulest take on the aristocrats joke I've ever heard, with a special guest no less...
  24. 8/10, some parts reminded me of the castle crashers theme. Here's a song we cheesy lyrics, but I like it
